  1. What I'd guess to be a '50 Plymouth (sure of the make, unsure of the year) sedan in period medium-light green metallic with chrome steelies and a threatening exhaust note.
  2. I think it's a good move on Chevy's part to make a manual transmission available on the higher Cruze trim levels for 2012. I am very happy with my manual, and after reading all the complaints about the Fiesta manumatic, I am convinced Ford has to do something to fix this issue with the Fiesta and Focus. Ford seems to have spent money on things with the Focus that are out of Sync with what people want. Wheel covers that are cheap looking on the S and SE, and front-only electric windows on the S are prolly rubbing ppl the wrong way, especially when they see the MSRP.
  3. Shoot, sounds awesome. I was invited to go last wknd to a test-n-tune there, but got caught in a traffic jam in Lancaster of all places for 45 minutes. After which I got po'd and slunk home. Have fun!
  4. How much longer does the doctor say you have to wear those shoes?
  5. Post your hottest car spots right down here in this little ol' thread. I sawr a very cool yellow '66 Belvedere convertible today. Perfect summer wheels.
  6. *shrug* I dont think many people would. I see them in person around Detroit all time and they couldn't look more bland. Past that, the cost of importing them would really harm the business case. RE: blandness... this just goes to prove how desperate some ppl are for a REAL car. And if this thing were styled from the ground up with Chevrolet style instead of Generic GM Sedan, there would be such an outcry for these to be sold to the public. This is doubtless an effort by GM Design to make the car invisible to temper that outcry. A chameleon that could wear any GM emblem all up on its grille.
  7. Well thank ya. It's running really well so far at 4500 miles, average MPG on DIC is 37.2 over that period (far exceeding the EPA estimates). It's warshed once a week and kept lookin' good. Even as gas still hovers around 3.34 around here. It remains quiet and rattle-free (as it should, of course, but I was racking my brain with the truck at this mileage trying to track down door and chassis noises). It's fun to toss around, easy to park, and cruises down the highway straight and stable. My car does have 3 idiosyncrasies though, it's not perfect. When it gets really hot parked in the sun, washer fluid drips down the back glass and leaves a little trail (not excessive, just enough to leave a mark). The seat height adjuster loses altitude over time. I get about a 1/2 crank on it daily to keep my nose bleeding (I'm short enough I like to sit up as high off the floor as possible), and the clock loses about a minute a week (luckily it is bone simple to adjust). So there's my 3.5 month review of the 2011 Ford Fiesta SE Hatchback with 5 speed manual, Sport Appearance and Sync-n-Sound packages. I'd buy another one, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to have a car that has the best combination of fun, frugality and versatility on the market right now, imo.

    Regal Estate Wagon

    Anything with wood is fetching.
  11. I am confused about the Toy ota ad. Is it for air conditioning or automatic headlights?
  12. Congratulations, Lamar & family! (I thought you bought a Smart car. Glad that wasn't it.)
  13. "Cabin Boy" omg what's that about? 8-o
  14. Cool... rat rodded Falcons and Commodores flying down a post-apocolyptic Aussie hwy....

    Regal Estate Wagon

Hyper: "Estate" is what all wagons are called over there in The Old World. The name could be shifted to a new connotation over here, calling attention to the car's Euro roots. They don't even know what a station wagon is in Yurp, do they?
  16. Happy Birthday old fart! I was seeing your name in lights under "upcoming events" every day for like 2 weeks, but dagnabit, this morning I didn't check.

    Regal Estate Wagon

SCARLET, you little scamp... that looks pretty cool!
  18. I say we all just show up at the airport completely naked and act totally casual. Intention of flying somewhere is optional.
  19. I'm on a boat
  20. Why not both 2-door hatchback and notchback? They could have a Cruze 2+2 and a Cruze Town Coupe. (Those who were alive in the 70's might get my reference.)
  21. There's a set of spy shots of a Regal wagon floating around the 'net, and it looks good. Not sure if I'm a fan of the "no rear bumper" look, though, as it puts the liftgate right out there, very vulnerable to damage in even a very minor rear end collision... sort of like a current CR-V. I'd love to see a chop of the white Regal wagon with woodgrain sides and whitewalls, just for old times' sake. Is anyone game?
  22. There are some flattering spy photos on the internet of the next Astra convertible, which thankfully eschews a heavy, complicated folding hardtop for a canvas roof. What say you on a Verano convertible? I am surprised no one posted a link to the pictures yet. It looks great.
  23. Oh man, look at 'em. Cool jazzed up with the chrome mirrors, rims and "Super Spank" emblems. Even with a police spec interior, they'd still be wicked. Still... I'd think some guys would want one without the gingerbread... steelies with baby moons, black mirrors and no fender emblems. Real stealth.
  24. Where's that Challenger? You're scaring me, Jacket.
  25. You have a very creative vision there, sir. I like it.
