  3. I went to the mall this morning to get my hair did (1 on the sides, 6 on top with a fade), and noticed the parking lot was sort of full. Turns out the SCCA was having an autocross event in a cordoned-off section of the lot. Oh man, was that fun to watch! Mostly ricers with a smattering of domestics, the cars represented a wide range, from a PT Cruiser convertible driven by a middle-aged lady, to a new Z06 driven by a slightly thinner Santa Claus (car sounded WAY HOT going through the cones!), and a Lotus Elise (dude spun it, dummy). There were Cobalt SS/SCs, ION Redlines, a lot of Miatas, Mini Coopers, WRXs and Evos... even an old Lumina Z34 DOHC coupe with a 5 speed! So now I'm all hot on it and wondering how much it would cost to get into something like this, just for fun. Heck, an old Ecotec Cavalier with manual trans and some sticky rubber would even be fun to thrash around the course. Has anyone ever been involved in, or even been a spectator at an Autocross?

  5. I'm enjoying this picture book journey. More, please!
  6. Mostly Stupid Nerds, that's MSN. I haven't read anything positive from them about GM, ever. They need to be stopped.
  7. Sounds like nothing could match your Riv for you and you're a bit angry that you're without it. As for the Grand Prix, give it American styling evolved from the current model and Aussie underpinnings and you've got yourself one hell of a Pontiac. Delta, sounds like all your troubles could be related to the alternator fiasco. Sorry to hear about that stuff, that's BS.
  8. Honda S2000, prominently parked at the Saturn dealership used car lot. Sky Redline, anyone? :AH-HA_wink: Also, a late Cutlass W convertible with massive chrome rims and painted-on tires. What do you think that does to the ride and structural integrity? Actually, cool pics, Vipes. I can see you with your gangsta lean, driving the Deville Concours "67k".
  9. gm4life, that's a great story. Very cool, sir.
  10. Perhaps 2008 is a short model year for GM trucks. It would be legal to code them 2009s after 1/1/08. GMT355s need that MCE sooner rather than later, and GMT900 pickups need that 6 speed auto to put more distance between them and the competition. I too am sad to see the ZQ8 suspension package go away in the smaller trucks... but it makes me hopeful for something even better to replace it.
  11. Thunder Gray ChromaFlair with all-Ebony interior and the painted 18" rims.
  12. Not soon enough for me. GM absolutely needs to keep the Delta cars fresh, since small cars are receiving more attention from customers now. I'm sure the SS Turbo will be a hot car, with torque, something only the GTI matches in this class.
  13. Chevelle/Impala, I hope. It does have Volt cues, which I felt would be appropriate for an Impala.
  14. Wasn't the Impact a longer version of the EV1? I forget now.
  15. This is not a partnership, as it's euphemistically put. The union is extortionist. If GM is to survive, the union needs to back down. This opinion based on evidence presented.

  21. Well, "F" is a Mercury Monarch. I haven't seen one of those (two-tone blue in your pic) Charger Daytonas in like forever. My mom had a '77 Charger, dark blue/light blue landau roof/white vinyl with blue carpet interior with a 318. A. Chrysler 300 B. Dodge Challenger C. Chrysler Imperial D. Dodge Mirada E. Chrysler New Yorker F. Mercury Monarch G. Chrysler Cordoba H. Dodge Charger Daytona

  24. The way the camera sort of dwells on the classic Mustang, then pans to the new one... yeah, the camera work seems to highlight the cars.
