  1. I woke up Thursday and had enough, found my son's trimmer and went to town with the number 7 guide. It isn't great with my "mature" hairline but it will be better in a few weeks.
  2. Not a fan of chrome, whether on plastic or metal. I prefer real aluminum or brushed metal. Most manufacturers are pretty conservative with colour choices now on mainstream vehicles. Lincoln and Genesis are offering some choice.
  3. It's the 35 grand/top trim level with the nappa leather and "ultra suede" on the dash and doors. Probably nicest interior in its shrinking class but not much of a sales success.
  4. 80's interiors were not good in general .. The most you could hope for was relatively squeak and rattle free. In the 90's the Japanese cars achieved this and their market share took off. We had a Scirocco and CRX in the familly for a few years each in the mid 80's to go along with our Olds.
  5. The hybrid option has plenty of torque for the RAV4. Turbos and DI have really not been kind to reliability of vehicles.
  6. VW could definitely use a CUV under the Tiguan in North America. Not sure what is taking them so long, they could have just made a soft roader version of the Golf like Subaru did pretty well with the Impreza/Crosstrek.
  7. I think the Polo suits under the Golf in VW"s lineup, not a replacement. This is the new Golf..
  8. What a joke, might as well rename it the Environmental Poisoning Agency.
  9. They've definitely avoided jumping on the turbo 4 bandwagon for the most part, though they have one in a few Lexus vehicles. Can't say they were wrong avoiding going with 1.4/1.5T turbo motor as look at all the issues other manufacturers have had with them, GM included.
  10. Especially considering they have dropped sedans and focus on CUV's and SUV's.
  11. And what is faux luxury about the new G80? Surely more luxury than any Cadillac outside the Escalade...
  12. Lol yeah what only an extra 30 grand or so. LS is more expensive than the g90..
  13. In pictures and video this is more to my liking than other 50-60k sedans I can think of, and I could probably say the same for the GV80 compared to 50-70k CUV's.
  14. Demise has been predicted for a while but it is still around, 8 years on.
  15. Could CT4 outlive the Malibu and be the cheapest GM sedan in America in a few years? I could see it being cancelled before a 5 year run.
  16. Like how Cadillac went low end with the CT4, XT4 and CT5, 33, 35 and 37k to compete with Camry, RAV4 and Avalon.
  17. They probably should have done something cheap like Caddy did with all of their CUV's just using standard GM/Chevy platforms and powertrains but like the Telluride and Pallisade it looks like they want to be at/near top of class and are taking their time, showing up late.
  18. Genesis has the GV80 CUV equivalent of this G80, I believe it starts at just under 50k and is larger than an XT5, same length as a BMW X5. Have to wonder if they are planning a GV70. Hopefully a new G90 and GV90 will be here within a few years.
  19. G80 compares well to the lower and mid trim German midsizers but without the German or Tesla badge it will be overlooked like the CT6 was. In Asia it might do well where badges are not quite as well entrenched.. Buick was for retirees here who wouldn't comarison shop anywhere else but still made a good run in China.
  20. Yeah I've heard LED headlights/enclosures are super pricey to replace. On G80 pricing, I'm going to guess starting in the mid to high forties to start. With it being a sedan, the global economy tanking and small business closures sure to be massive, it will have trouble selling just like any other new car.
  21. I think it looks pretty good, it looks way more upscale than the current model and the interior looks like a really nice place to be. It is not like any of the competition has been putting out sedans that would make me look twice on the road unless it was due to paint colour..
