  1. Well, it was 1987 when I bought my first new car and the Chevy/Buick showroom at the dealer was a candy store! Irocs, both hard and soft top were all over, There was one of the very rare '86 MCSS aerocoupes on a raised dias, an all white El CaminoSS, vettes, T-types, Grand Nationals, and behind a velvet rope - a GNX. By the time I signed the papers on my new black El Camino SS, my head was spinning and my neck sore from gawking. By '88 it was mostly gone, replaced by a sea of awful FWD boredom. GM still had some great cars in the 80s, but they let them rot on the vine. All of them, including my Camino, could have been so much more than they were. Alas, GM was only spending money on the junk at that time.
  2. The one I'm using now is the older of the two I have, not sure how old. It was upgraded when I got it. The OS is XP pro 2002 version service pack 3. Pentium III 797MHz 320MB Ram 57.2 GB hard drive
  3. Patience...
  4. Result = nil I'm throwing in the towel for now. What bugs me is that e-mails meant for me are going somewhere else, not even notifications from facebook are getting through.
  5. Version of Outlook? Whatever came with XP when it was new, I guess. I finally found a "detect and repair" button to click, but it then wanted me to insert the MS Office disk - which I did. Lots of noise and progress screens, but no result. Z could be right about my antivirus, it's a big, invasive, monster. I may try disabling it.
  6. Been flawless for a very long time, can't understand how this happened. Makes no sense.
  7. Haven't been able to find that. EDIT: Just to clarify, i don't see "repair" anywhere.
  8. I've already done both, and now they are gone for the holiday. All of the settings seem right.
  9. God this is weird. I can send a test message to myself through the provider's server and get it. But, anything I send via Outlook just disappears to nowhere, never shows up on my provider's server and I get no error message. Meanwhile, nothing comes in through Outlook at all. I blocked the suspect e-mail address and changed the password to my e-mail, but nothing is changing.
  10. Yes, it says it can't connect to the server. I have my e-mail through my old dial-up provider and Fios as my ISP.
  11. I'm having the strangest problem with my e-mail, here are the symptoms: - e-mails from friends and family are not showing up at all - I can't get emails through Outlook, but can access my acct through the provider's server - My own test e-mails to myself go through (but not to outlook) - a test e-mail from my provider goes through (but not to Outlook) - Now, here's the strange one. I responded to an e-mail about the jag on Craigslist and the responses from that person make me think scam. But, their e-mails go through to the provider's server! Has my e-mail been hijacked?!!
  12. That's just so wrong!
  13. Beats me, but it seems to only be a C&G thing. I have FIOS, so things are usually quite fast.
  14. Thanks to WMJ I may never escape the whole hip-hop thang!
  15. I'm surprised. Everything is slower for me - including the time for a page to load.
  16. Really? It is very slow for me when composing or editing a post, and edit has a bug where it takes you to the post without an edit screen until you hit edit a second time. The old board was faster at everything.
  17. Truthfully, I'm finding the board to be slow to respond to input and a bit cumbersome to use. Nothing fatal, but not an improvement over the old board's performance. But then, featues aren't my thing, performance is.
  18. Trust me, it will be fully de-hip hopped. I have been sourcing parts from a near-exact clone that was a C4C vehicle. I'm not done raiding.
  19. Sweet! I love torque!
  20. The truth will set you free. Happy New Year.
  21. Here's hoping that perfection is the result.
  22. Thanks, Roger. It's a '95, and the initial round of repairs has been completed. Picked up the spare tire, bracket, and cover the idiot previous owner took out so he could fit in a huge subwoofer box today. Installed them this afternoon. Much of the other stuff I did is in the Winter tire thread, if you're interested.
  23. FDR had polio prior to his presidency.
  24. <------honestly can't think of anything to ask about.
  25. Haven't heard anything like that.
