Thanks Ted. Driving was a total nightmare today: rain, wrecks, and tons of traffic all day ! Burns me up that the crappy roads made us lose that Olds - it was just what the doctor ordered.

Nix on the panthers, and all the B-bodies vaporized as soon as I started looking. Nothing low-mile to be found at the moment.

One of my helpers recently killed his Acura and I'm trying to help him find the ultimate "Granny car". Almost had an '88 Olds 88 today that only had 29k miles on it! While we were stuck in traffic on our way there, the guy sold the car! I was less than happy. If you are local, and know of a car like this let me know. Ugly and faded are just fine, as are garage "love taps" - we are just hunting cheap,bulletproof and low-miles.

Very true. I'd agree that 5 or 6 would be just about right for this particular car.

The owner of my local Chevy store also owned a fair sized Ford franchise nearby. About 6 months ago Ford made him a buyout offer he couldn't refuse - scratch one Ford dealership.

It is not hypocrisy - I see the greatest threat to the country in our position relative to oil dependence for a multitude of reasons. You know, "all enemies foriegn and domestic". When it comes to the rest of your political stand, you are preaching to the choir concerning me. I am a registered Libertarian - it is the party that comes closest to what I believe in politically. I do have a trait most Libertarians lack however, I'm a bit of a pragmatist as well. :AH-HA_wink:

It was a nasty storm... and cold! Lost some limbs and one tree which smashed a fence.

What I believe is that we are 30 years late already getting this show on the road, and that the government must play a part in making it happen. If we wait for the market to do so, I have some real fears that the country won't be around to save anymore. Yes, our government often screws up even the simplest things, but this is the critical issue of the day in my view. As I have said before I see it as a national security threat, which is certainly the constitutional province of our government. Not only should the government be involved, it is bound by the constitution to be involved - at least that's how I see it.
