  1. This worries me a bit. I'm not sure that a 4cyl. Camaro can sell well enough, no matter the output. It just isn't a comfortable fit for the nameplate. I'm not necessarily against the idea, but I do worry about it succeeding. Perhaps a Camaro that is the analog of the old Mustang SVO 4cyl. might work - a total package as opposed to a simple driveline swap. Uncharted waters.
  2. Hyper, I'm actually shocked that you didn't know you could get a RS Z/28 ! I've seen many, many, over the years and have always preferred both Z/28s and SSs when they also had the RS package. But, the RS was also a stand alone item at three different times in Camaro history. The first was the Gen1 Camaro and the second (and most common) was on the 3rd gen, the last time was late 4th gens done by SLP. The first gens are rare and desireable collectors items, some third gens are quite nice but not very rare, and the 4th gens are something of a footnote. EDIT: there may have also been an early 4th gen factory RS, I simply don't remember.
  3. See the bit I highlighted above? I'm thinking that explains the disparity. Overall CO2 emissions would dwarf those sourced from fossil fuel combustion. In the end, the total amount of CO2 entering the atmosphere is what matters. Aren't semantics a bitch?
  4. You could ask them why.
  5. For 5 bills, why not? Sorry Ted, I can't talk you out of it.
  6. It surprises me that the two cars would be cross-shopped. I'm all for the scoop delete option, but I wouldn't hold your breath expecting it.
  7. Z stated in his article that there is a problem with the design of the Sky's bodywork that holds a targa version back. His article also states that they are "working on it". Actually, I hope they let the Solstice alone have this feature.
  8. You're right, of course - I just didn't see any harm in leaving it here. If it had been a news story on this topic, I would have moved it without comment.
  9. I only meant ignorance in the the true sense of the word, a huge number of people in this country simply don't know how to drive a manual car - thus "ignorance".
  10. Well there's an asinine approach to judging the product. Wait until they sell out faster than the sedan, and then talk to me.
  11. I understand, I really do, but couldn't someone give at least a nod to the styling of one of these? The whole segment is made up of eyesores. Something... anything... would be nice to see.
  12. Hardly vain, more like valid - unlike the buffoons who's arguments were based on nothing. I have noticed that those who hate it tend to post first, and then the tide turns - so stay alert.
  13. Can't someone make a little car like this with at least some style? Not singling-out the Fit, all of the cars in this class are just so unattractive. Someone has to have a design that has some appeal beyond the utilitarian. Anyone?
  14. I'll move it for you if you really want, NOS. But I think it is fine here in the lounge as well. You should get more feedback here.
  15. Sure about that? I seem to recall that globally, less than 1% of CO2 is attributable to cars.
  16. I'm with you Chris, if I had to drive one with the V6 I'd want to have the manual to ease the pain too. It's just a tougher case to make than the V8 manual. Ticks me off every time a manual is not offered due to the ignorance of the public when it comes to shifting for yourself. I think everyone should know how - even if they'd never choose a manual.
  17. Not quite. I intend to pay cash for mine, and it will be a difficult task. Therefore, I need to know what the specifics will be as soon as I can. Extra pennies gratefully accepted, however. :AH-HA_wink:
  18. The talk is that it will happen, but I'll be needing confirmation ASAP.
  19. I really hope the XT happens as well - it just makes so much sense. Oh, no need to be jealous - It will be well over a year before I'll get my mitts on this beast.
  20. I really need to know so I can make my plans.
  21. Haven't read it. I usually enjoy his stuff, but it seems we part ways on this. That's fine, he can eat crow later.
  22. Yes it is. Why so long? I really have no idea. Doesn't make much sense to me, but in my case the timing is fine as I'll be ready then.
