  2. My parents and youngest brother came up from VA to see me graduate on Saturday. We had dinner last night, and Amy and I treated everyone to brunch this morning after church.
  3. KC, Croc, and GMTG74 are spot on here. It may not be complete anytime soon, but there is coming a time that DelDOT will have no need to publish such letters. As we actually get to know each other, such things diminish. But that won't mean that certain epithets, gestures, slights, and stigmata will ever have a place at that time either, no matter how "good" it gets.
  4. I lol'ed. Well, inside. My wife's sleeping. Oh, and Probably. Unless you know them THAT well.

  8. That would make it "BTK."
  9. If Wikipedia is accurate (big "if"), he worked at Opel and Fiat before BMW.
  10. The last-gen 7 had the suspect styling and the first generation of iDrive working against it. I think the mass of people spending beyond their means had a lot to do with the 7 selling the way it did.

Agreed completely. My wife even got into it, and she's not much of a b-ball fan.
  12. My request for you to "work your magic" on the X6 still stands. Enjoy though.
  13. Well, they still don't sell them everywhere. I've seen exactly one IRL.

I see where your thinking is going... but it still doesn't quite cover Pontiac's spot, which is way more performance than luxury. Pontiac buyers put much more value on the former. That's not to say that they couldn't do it... but until Buick is fixed and rolling, it's not the best idea.

My wife and I watch it. Even though I'm always curious as to who will end up winning, I always look forward to the finale and seeing the people who got voted off early.

Basically. Trucks (and such) are GMC's trademark, like sport-oriented cars should have been Pontiac's trademark all along. Following those same lines, if GMC were axed, one wouldn't expect Buick to start selling pickups.

I hear you, dfelt, but many would believe (me included) that GMC selling cars would become the beginning of the end for them. The Acadia and Terrain are as close as they should ever get.

What could Buick do to pick up Pontiac's slack? Nothing, really. Currently Buick and Pontiac are/have been almost polar opposites of one another. Cushy cruising and ultraconservative styling across the lot from edgy attitude and driving EXCITEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's hard to try to cover that base without alienating another. Even with the possibility of a NG LaCrosse Super (probably not, but hey...) I think Chevy has the best chance to recoup Pontiac customers. Will they? I doubt it. And re: a Buick Zeta sedan? Personally, the only place I want to see a LWB Zeta luxury sedan right now is Cadillac. No sense having the 2nd-tier luxury brand outdoing the proverbial king of the hill.
  19. Whoa... the new one is HUGE compared to the outgoing one. Fire sale of old models aside, think Subaru will still have plus sales when the new one is out?
  20. Someone once taught me that it's never too late until you're dead. Of course, that person didn't work for or follow GM, so....

Where are you guys seeing this? Buick's page doesn't show anything yet.
  22. This Toyota-chasing has got to stop!
  23. CALL HER ON IT!!! DO IT!!!!!!!
  24. I get profitability. However, Buick (too soft overall) and Cadillac (too expensive) won't be able to capture Pontiac's market. GMC will never sell a "car" car. If GM were moving the most Pontiac-ish models (G8 and Solstice, of course) to the other brands (Chevy), then we'd not have a problem here. But reports indicate that the models won't be going anywhere else, so there goes that idea. The only Chevy model that may capture potential Pontiac buyers is the Camaro, but then again, not everyone wants a 2dr, myself included.
  25. Welp, until I enter the market for a Cadillac for either me (doubtful, if the STS replacement ends up a rebodied LaCrosse) or the wife (if she likes the CTS), it's most likely no more GM for me for a while. I still don't get how GM intends to increase market share by alienating its markets.
