  1. Would look so much better with a trunk. Showed this to my g/f and she said how awesome the front is, and she would buy it if it wasn't for the "stupid hatchback"
  2. I noticed that too. Has to be a typo. That's as wide as a Chrysler Pacifica, and wider than the last B-Body.
  3. Still not as good looking as the previous generation, but a HUGE improvement over the looks of the current model... less chunky and awkward looking. Still missing a regular cab model though.
  4. Snow is nice to look at. It's fun to watch while it's falling, and I like when it sticks in the branches of trees. Once it's done falling, it can all go away as far as I'm concerned. It's the bitter cold I really hate. I went out to get the mail and do a little shoveling in the driveway, and it was just miserable. Spring and summer can't come fast enough for me.
  5. Thanks guys. I love the color too... it's my favorite thing about the car, and the reason I bought this particular Impala. It was between this car, and an '04 Berry Red Impala LS demo with every option except the sunroof, but it was about $3000 more. If the LS had a sunroof, I'd probably be driving it instead now. It is a 3400, just turned 40,000 miles last week. So far the only problem I've had with the car since I bought it was that the multi function stalk broke, causing the headlights not to work. I was not at all happy about having to pay $400 to have it replaced. I was originally planning on doing some more stuff to it, like adding a factory LS style spoiler and changing the moldings to body colored. When I figured out I'd need a new rear bumper to swap the molding, that kind of killed that.
  6. Here are some pictures of my Impala taken in my back yard in September 2006. It's Superior blue with the semi-rare blue deluxe cloth interior(sorry, no interior pics at the moment). Other than the deluxe cloth (which has the fold down back seat), it has the 1SB option package, CD/cassette stereo and the aluminum wheels. I added the Impala badges on the fron fenders, and replaced the chrome one on the trunk with a body colored one. Other than that, if you've seen one Impala you've seen them all... just that this one happens to be mine.
  7. as a two time w-body owner, it will be sad to see them go. The platform may be getting a little dated, but it has come along way since the original '88 models. It's nice that GM will be offering RWD cars again, but I wish they'd continue offering something FWD in this size too.
  8. Didn't realize this thread was still active, but better late than never. This is me sitting in a new Silverado at the Detroit Auto Show. The Oldsmobile logo on my hat matches my avatar: Without the hat and glasses. From my trip to Punta Cana last year:
  9. Sweet, I have to get that Town and Country wagon. I used to love those when I was a kid. MIght have to buy the 83 Plymouth Reliant too. Maybe someday they'll do an Olds Omega or Firenza...
  10. The article sums up pretty much everything I like about the DTS... it's big, has a quiet cushy ride, room for six, and there aren't many other cars left like it. The '07 DTS I drove handled much better than I expected (better than the Lucerne). I would actually have to say it was the most fun car I have ever driven, primarily because I'm into all of these things
  11. Eh... will reserve final judgement until I see the whole thing. I'm not a big fan of short overhangs and blunt front-ends, so this wasn't the best part to show me first.
  12. Oops... missed that you already bought one. Looks like a nice one.
  13. Don't buy the Plasma TV. I have a co-worker that used to work at the Sony plant that makes them. He says they don't last very long, and half the ones that come off the line go directly into the trash... which is why they are so expensive. Also, beware you will probably need a special rider on your homeowners insurance if you buy a tv costing over $1000. The people across the street from my parents had a $2500 tv that wasn't covered when a power surge blew it out (along with EVERYTHING electric in thier house). Of course, I am pretty low tech when it comes to electronics. I have one 19" tv... circa 1990 not stereo.
  14. I don't understand why they are killing the Monte Carlo so soon, with the W-Body Impala continuing. It's not like sales have dropped drasticaly. Also, too bad the Uplander is the only minivan surviving. They killed them off from best looking to worst, leaving the ugliest turd for last.
  15. Really...? I only ever saw the dark red one. Wish I would have bought it when I found it, but the dark blue one sounds cool too.
  16. Apparently I'm they only one excited about this? I hope they facelift the regular Lacrosse models too.
  17. Thanks for reminding me why I don't like hotwheels. The Camaro concept is pretty cool looking though. I've been waiting for Matchbox to re-release thier Charger, which has a little better proportions. Johnny Lightning has cancelled thier new Charger.
  18. Wish I saw this yesterday, I would have given this one a shot.
  19. Sweet, you got to tour the Nummi plant... That's awesome. I would love to tour a plant someday. Closest one is Lordstown. We passed it on the way to Detroit.
  20. GM is switching things up this year then, showing Pontiacs in New York, and Saturns in Chicago.
  21. oohhh... was hoping for the blue interior, but the shale doesn't look too bad in the pics. I'm really thinking hard about this.
  22. DTS is my favorite current Cadillac. I love that it's big, FWD, can be ordered with a bench seat, and is the last American car offered with a blue interior....and it's beautiful . If only it had a 6-speed auto and fold down back seat, it would be perfect. I just hope they still make something comparable when I can finally afford one. Old school rocks
  23. It's too bad the E-Class is the last decent looking car they have left...
  24. very cool... wrong part of PA though. I just drove five hours to get to the Detriot show, don't think I feel like driving to Philly too. Those turnpike tolls are quite expensive :angry2:
  25. WANT... hell yes! Willing to purchase at fair market value, less so. I've seen them in the Auto Mart in the $21-23k range... for the right price I'd be interested, but that's not the right price. Also, got to know what color the interior is?
