  1. I admit to not checking things as often as I should but I do try to at least every 2 weeks check the fluids on the Equinox. And I never wait for the oil life thing to tell me to change my oil. I change it every 2500 miles wheather it needs it or not.
  2. Nice article. And its the truth. I think for the everyday grind people will be likely to give up some of that cornering ability to be able to go over a bump without fear of spine compression. There will always though be people that will say a Toyota is better than a Buick even when it is proven that it just isnt true. I have heard more than one article saying the Avalon rides a bit on the stiff side. I think the new Buicks have what it takes to compete. Only complaint with the LaCrosse is the back seat room that isnt quite what it should be.
  3. Wisconsin roads arent any better. ABS is one of those things where I can deal without it but it is nice to have. One time it did help out though on a case where one side was dry the other was kind of icy. ABS can differentiate so you dont spin in that situation.
  4. He sure did though it was in a joking matter. If I cant do well with my AWD Equinox I am in bad shape. After a few old cars in winters the Equinox should be nothing.
  5. I dont tend to borrow my vehicles out either except to my sister and brother-in-law. They know how I am and they make sure they take excellent care of them if they need them.
  6. Does anybody realize the Equinox recieved a 5 star crash rating? Yes it did which makes me feel pretty good. I think mine feels very solid when driving it. The parents think the same of theirs. I think the revised EPA estimates come closer to showing the real world mileage of the Equinox. Overall I like it and think it was a good choice for me. My parents like theirs too.
  7. A few hard surfaces shouldnt sway one to look elsewhere if they like the car. It doesnt bother me that the Equinox has hard surfaces on the dash. I dont sit and touch them continually. I do care if it all fits together well and that it does.
  8. I bought a 2000 Monte Carlo with 28,500 miles in July of 2001. Traded it for the new Equinox in March this year. Is that too much?
  9. I had that happen to the 1984 Buick Park Avenue too. The person that I had do it though made sure it was perfect. The pedal is still a little low but it at least is firm. Not mushy like before.
  10. I am your man. I own one and my parents also own one. So far we both like ours. Gas mileage is about 17 in the city and 23 on the highway. They handle pretty well. Ride well. They are as quiet as most cars. Both of ours have enough power for our needs.
  11. I have read reports of 36-37 miles to the gallon on the highway for the 4 cylinder Malibu which is really good. Even the 32 highway for the V6 is good for the performance it gives. Some people want a manual but how would that sell in this day and age? The automatic already gets 37 miles to the gallon on the highway. Would there be an improvment if there was a manual.
  12. I heard the 2006 lost an inch of back seat room versus the 2005. I am wondering where the inch went? Thicker front seat? I must say though I do like the interior especially in the dark grey version. At least there is a choice other than tan and grey.
  13. I have never used snow tires in the 11 years I have been driving. I didnt even have that much or a problem with the RWD 1981 Caprice and 1979 Impala before switching to FWD with the Monte Carlo and now the AWD Equinox. The tires on the Equinox look like they are VERY capable in snow. The one time I did get to try it in a few inches of snow it worked VERY well. On the 1981 Bonneville, I dont drive that in the winter so I park it in the storage unit and start it and run it 15-20 minutes every week or 2. I wont be driving the 1984 Buick Park Avenue either so that will get stored and the battery removed with STA-BIL in the gasoline. The Bonneville will get STA-BIL also.
  14. I would have thought the 3.9 would be closer to the 6.6 second 0-60 time the 2004-5 supercharged 3.8 than it was. Maybe the gearing was different. I would want to test both the 3.5 liter and the 3.9 liter to see how different before putting money on the Impala.
  15. I got the chance to drive a long wheelbase 2500 Express 3 times while moving stuff out of my Grandmas house. It was nice for a cargo van. It rode well despite what it was and if you didnt look back whil;e driving you wouldnt have known the lack of interior fitments. It was quiet and thankfully this one had A/C in the 90 degree heat we used it in. The 6.0 liter V8 accelarated it VERY well.
  16. Gm should be giving a thought to gas prices. The prices arent going to go down soon if ever. Prices here I was told when I got gas today are going to go up 20-30 cents. Cost me $61 to fill the 1984 Buick Park Avenue we are working on. Lucky I dont drive it much.
  17. I believe that DOD may be the answer to some of these questions. Hybrids are another option but what happens when the batteries need replacing?
  18. And it must have a little bit of chrome. Come on!!!. Make it special just like the 1984 model was next to say the Caprice or Bonneville.
  19. I didnt like it in concept but now that I have seen it in person it looks good. It should be a very useful vehicle for its target people. And get good fuel mileage while looking cool.
  20. If GM could make a Park Avenue like the 1984 Buick Park Avenue I am fixing. The same size and I usually dont say this but RWD but with todays traction enhancing things. The light monitors on the fenders and inside the rear windows are a must. The seat design of the 1984 model must be retained.
  21. Nope. I got the black bumpers. I didnt get the foglamps. Its not important to me.
  22. Jeez where should I begin? 1977-90 B-bodies 1980-84 Buick Park Avenue. 1978-80 Chevrolet Monte Carlo 2000-200----- Monte Carlo 1979-85 Buick Riviera 1978-83 Chevrolet Malibu 2005--- Chevrolet Equinox. 1970-81 Chevrolet Camaro 1969-70 Chevrolet Bel-Air/ Impala 1972 Chevrolet Impala/Caprice
  23. I like the new one the way it is. The door panels seem different but I will not pass judgement until I get to drive it. To me the Impala has just kept up with the times as far as FWD is concerned. Its still the biggest Chevrolet family car in the the Chevrolet family. It still can hold 6 people if it has the bench front seat. I had a 1979 Impala. That wasnt exciting but it did the job just like todays Impala does.
