  1. As an option, yes...I wonder how many AWD 300s and Magnums Chrysler sells relative to RWD ones.. Then again, Ford sells Crown Vics, GMs, and Town Cars without AWD... RWD with traction control seems to be a viable alternative to AWD these days...I certainly see a lot of RWD cars around here (Denver) and we definitely get the snow and ice, esp. this winter (though I won't be getting rid of my 4WD Jeep anytime soon)..
  2. Scion is supposed to be cheap, young and hip, while Yaris and Corolla fill the cheap and utilitiarian roles...
  3. Anyone have those wheelbases in inches?
  4. Interesting...I would think automakers (any automaker) would have standardized firewalls across a platform---I would think they would be same on all the GM W-bodies, same on the Epsilons, etc..
  5. Agreed... love the design...the interior detail, exterior details, rear, greenhouse, the whole package...kind of the dream Cadillac.
  6. Exactly... buying used cars with a lot of miles is buying someone elses problems, IMHO.. money pits..
  7. Sounds like desperation.
  8. They might keep the FWD Impala as an Impala Classic or something for 6 months to a year after the RWD model comes out, though...like they did with the previous Malibu...(that is, if they can build Zetas and Ws at the same time)>
  9. The Fusion wasn't included because it's not new....the article stated the theme of the comparisons was how do the new-for-07 models (Aura, Altima, Camry, Kia, Sebring) stack up against the Accord. Hence, no Malibu, Fusion, Stratus, Sonata, etc...
  10. Maybe it's 'Ricky Frank', like 'Ricky Bobby'..
  11. Right..that's quite understandable...I certainly wouldn't buy a used car with 100k miles when I could afford a cheap new car, that's just common sense. The only way I could trust a car with 100k miles to be reliable is if I put those miles on it myself..
  12. My guess is the most likely NA Zeta-based models will include the Impala, Camaro, G8, next Lucerne, and next DTS..
  13. The problem with those choices is those are all used cars with lots of mileage on most.... what Toyota is talking about is cheap, reliable new cars, not used cars.. The cheap new car is that market niche Hyundai used to gain traction in the US...
  14. Revell also has a neat 1:25th scale kit of the '59 Skyliner.. it's an old kit and a bit fiddly, but I built one back in the '80s and the top still opens/closes smoothly..
  15. That Buick looks very clean...I'd keep it white and put on some blackwall tires with white steel wheels and dog-dish hubcaps..
  16. The Escalade (and H2) don't make much sense in the US market either, IMHO...obese, innefficent, excessive...
  17. I'd love to drive an Atom... a week with one in the summer in eastern Ohio (location of my favorite back roads) would be quite the experience, I think...(have to watch out for the horsepoo, though).
  18. My dog...an Australian Terrier.. 10 pounds of terror.. Yes, it is.. it's pretty amazing the things people think of when judging a candidate.. it doesn't seem like many people use rational thought and do their research on a candidate's stand on issues that are important to them (the voters) and the country as a whole....
  19. I've been reading these forums for years and just realised your handle is 'flybrian' and not 'flybrain'..
  20. No surprise with the gas mileage results...I wouldn't have expected big, heavy squarish V8 trucks to do any better than 15 mpg or so..
  21. Reminds me of some older Citroens w/ the hydropneumatic suspension..they could be driven on 3 wheels..I remember seeing one doing that in a ChiPs episode when I was a kid..
  22. "I don't much care for..." icy roads.. snowstorms.. Republicans.. diarrhea.... though I try and take immodium before and after spicy food, I forget sometimes.. I'll enjoy a delicious vindaloo, then my arse burns with the heat of 1000 suns, red-hot lavapoo pouring out...not fun.
  23. Overall I like the styling, but...there's something about the greenhouse--specifically the rear door glass area that disturbingly reminds me of the last 2 generations of Civics...the C-pillar and upper rear door just doesn't say MB to me..
  24. It must be a sign... I guess it's time to trade up to an Avalon.
  25. The 4dr Wrangler is a great idea...surprised they didn't do it in '87 or before.. but the Compass????
