  1. I understand the frustration...I've been in 3 car accidents that resulted in damage in almost 20 years of driving, and none were my fault.
  2. Agreed, I don't think GM has been growing much at all, it's that they have been loosing market share for a long time---contracting---but not shrinking correspondingly as a company... They are still staffed like they still have 40% of the market when they can expect maybe 20% by the end of the decade, I think....
  3. I'm skeptical that original poster is just making up his/her allegations.
  4. Why do you think LED headlamps are illegal in the US? Do you have proof? Or is this just a PFA?
  5. It looks good...those big wheels look good on a big car. Now that they have the DUB edition for the youth, how about an edition for the older Buick buyers--wire wheels on white wall tires, padded top, tufted red cloth loose-pillow style interior, AM radio, etc
  6. Comparing 'sport sedans' with automatics doesn't make sense..call me old-school, but a sport sedan has to have a manual... now in a luxury sedan, an automatic is fine..
  7. Good to hear..I wonder what the coupe vs. sedan distribution of sales is. I see coupes more frequently (probably 4 to 1) than sedans, though either is still an uncommon sight here in Denver, a heavily SUV- and import-oriented market...
  8. Ouch.. I almost had a side swipe accident about 15 minutes ago.. Some stupid f*ck in a Dodge Ram almost side swiped me on the freeway.. talking on his cell phone and moving into my lane without signaling when he was still parallel and not completely in front of me... I wish I had had a rocket launcher to take out this bozo and his damn 'W04' sticker..
  9. I can understand the consumer indifference/ambivalence...honestly, I'm ambivalent myself. I'm not union, no one in my family is, and I think my industry (software) has had a lot more layoffs in the last 5 years than the auto industry--high paying, educated white collar cubicle jobs, some of which have been outsourced. Even through that, though, there are still a lot of companies hiring, so the future looks good in my line of work. If some union workers in the Midwest strike, it's just not relevant to my reality. The transit workers were on strike here last week, I noticed it because traffic was heavier and parking downtown much harder to find. That said, I want to see the old big 3 survive, as they have vehicles I would definitely consider buying in the future..
  10. Agreed on these...the Jetta/Passat rear would be the first change I'd make. It needs Buick-style wide, horizontal taillights.
  11. I did too...too bad it was never offered with the Northstar. The Riv, first-gen Aurora, '92+ Seville/STS and Eldorado are my favorite '90s GM models.
  12. Interesting..i wonder what platform it is on...a new Mazda platform or the Ford/Volvo platform that the Five Hundred/etc is on? I assume there will be more crossovers off the Five Hundred/Freestyle/Montego/MKZ platform.
  13. Ok..so you are upset about a crease in plastic bumper...wow..that's pretty shallow. Why not wait until you see more photos or see the car in person?
  14. It's only going to be realistic to compare the sales after a year or two, I think.
  15. Hmm..sits pretty high...looks like a relative of the Caliber.
  16. Don't forget panel gaps...they are as important as the quality of interior plastics.
  17. Neat pics..and I bet that Honda can go places you couldn't go in a Ridgeline..
  18. Actually, I think it's just the Aura front end that looks like the Vectra... it doesn't have the Vectra's greenhouse (Vectra has a 6-light treatment) or rear end...
  19. Not really.
  20. Dude, great pics, but those are LS460 pics, NOT ES350 pics...get an eye exam, OK?
  21. I like the door mirrors attached to the door like that..looks more substantial and looks better than the 'mirror growing out of the A-pillar base' look that so many cars have, IMHO.
  22. I guess one could call it a rebadged Camry in the same sense the LaCrosse is a rebadged Impala. But they are two different models on the same platform..'rebadged' is the wrong label in either example.. Anyway, that black LS460 looks goregous...
  23. The title of the article had me laughing..'Geriatric Gansta'..I wonder if real ganstas (Mafiosos) would drive this?
  24. As far as the 2nd gen models, I've seen them in silver, dark gray, and gold also..
  25. Not really spring break (in the college sense) for me, but I am taking some long weekends out of town. Went to Phoenix last weekend to see my sister, went to a concert, and played a little golf. Nice weather. Next weekend, the G/F and I are driving down to Santa Fe and plan to see an old friend from grad school in Los Alamos. The weekend after that, we are going to LA for a 4 day weekend to see friends, go to a concert.. probably too cold to go in the water, but probably walk on the beach some.
