Maybe he was referring to the new Tesla Roadster due in the future. Supposed to have outrageous statistics...like 0-60 in less than 0 seconds or something... ?

This one reminds me of a lot late 60s-early 70s Hot Wheels and Tonka truck designs, cab forward w/ big wrap around windows.

Aston Martin News:Aston Martin Launches its First SUV

Heh heh...I have no idea how he jumped from future SUVs to Marilyn....her time was long ago and before my time, but of the 1950s women I'd prefer Suzy Parker, Ava Gardner or Sophia Loren....- 64 replies

I assume you are being facetious... anyway, I didn't realize GM was currently doing CVTs in anything.- 60 replies

Aston Martin News:Aston Martin Launches its First SUV

More like a 1985 movie depicting the year 2000.. Something from 1948 would be a rounded blob. Actually, the Aston's rear carries over the styling themes from their cars...look at the rear of the DB 11 and other current A-Ms...- 64 replies

I suspect my brother (who has owned at least dozen Mustangs over 50 years) wouldn't like it.

Aston Martin News:Aston Martin Launches its First SUV
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Aston Martin
It's futuristic in that it looks like it's a prop from a sci fi movie...more futuristic than the hideous Silverado HD, for example, which looks like most any other truck of the last 20+ years but with an uglified front end. One aspect of the Cybertruck that is very different is the low, pointy front end and sloped back windshield instead of the usual overwrought grille and bloat of a mainstream truck. I do wonder if we will see sleeker trucks emerge, EV and otherwise, instead of the overwrought, blunt fronts that pervade trucks now.- 64 replies

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM

How about the Neuron EV T-One? Yet another EV truck concept. Very different from the Cybertruck. Interesting cab forward front, kind of like older vans. https://www.autoblog.com/photos/neuron-ev-t-one-electric-pickup/ -

Kind of retro futuristic. But definitely futuristic compared to production trucks.- 64 replies

The Cybertruck is a very futuristic design, a radical departure from the usual 3 box design of pickups. It will be interesting to see how different the production model will look.- 64 replies

Aston Martin News:Aston Martin Launches its First SUV
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Aston Martin
Not unlike how station wagons were in olden days, most of them stuck to the same general silhouette...the design limited by the need for the rear seat and cargo area....the bold coupe SUVs get around the 2 box design with a fastback hatch shape. And the design doesn't work well with mid- or rear-engined layouts because of the need for cargo space. Similar issues with pickup trucks--design limited usually by a vertical rear window and bed.- 64 replies

The electric truck market is going to have a lot of choices in a few years..going to be interesting.. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a29890843/full-electric-pickup-trucks/?source=nl&utm_source=nl_cdb&utm_medium=email&date=112619&utm_campaign=nl18693366&src=nl -
I saw it last weekend and really enjoyed it. The Adam Carolla documentaries 'The 24 Hr War' and 'Shelby American' cover some of the same events and are both excellent and streaming on Prime now. I want to see 'The Good Thief' and 'The Irishman' this weekend...good thing The Irishman is streaming on Netflix, too long to see in a theater.

Really nice here today. Sunny and mid 40s right now. Maybe I will go out and blow leaves around later.

Taking off Thursday and Friday. Doing Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant downtown w my sister. Probably going to visit a couple wineries on the North Coast Fri-Sat if the weather is nice. Maybe visit some local museums.

Check out Cleveland Brown Odell Beckham's Roller.... in Browns orange. And the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament was replaced w a figure of himself. I think I saw it in traffic one night a while back, something blocky and orange zooming past in the far left on I-90 coming out of downtown.

Yes, as is Aston Martin and Ferrari.. Genesis may end up being the last to the party for SUVs. I expect McLaren will announce one soon...

Well, it does look distinctive and stands out, doesn’t look like any other truck on the road. That’s a good thing, instead of same old, same old it’s futuristic looking. Whether that leads to sales, time will tell...

Well, BMW does have a 1.5 3 cyl as seen in the i8..
