  1. What if the 7th gen would have been styled by the Silverado HD stylist? Give it some big truck touches like huge mirrors, large windows, etc. We will never know what could have been...
  2. The story is all over the usual automotive press and blog pages on the FB now...maybe GM is intentionally leaking this 3 years early to try and spur lagging sales.
  3. Maybe the Camaro will be reborn as an EV coupe CUV with styling cues from the 4th gen.
  4. As it was once before.
  5. I'm sure the name will return on a sporty FWD/transverse CUV.
  6. death black, and despair gray.
  7. They do look good stock without the cartoonish mods.
  8. I like the exterior color of that XT4, but the interior looks awfully drab and colorless.
  9. Beautiful weather this weekend...was out exploring some areas in the national park and metro parks nearby, on winding backroad was stuck behind a slow moving 2nd gen Honda Insight with the license plate 'Stimpy'. Not sure where Ren was. Saw a couple nice 60s Chevies--a dark blue w/ white stripes '69 Camaro SS, and a clean dark blue '68 Impala 2dr. Pics from yesterday...from an overlook over the Tinker's Creek Gorge and from the Tinker's Creek Tavern, overlooking said creek. Tacos and beer...nice afternoon.
  10. I never got the appeal of the lumpy humpy Merc customs. Ick.
  11. I'm sure the effort will result in a variety of products of different styles and price points..from cheaper Toyota and Subaru models to premium Lexus models. Similar to the approach GM, VWAG and others plan for their EVs--a platform for a common set of components (for the battery pack, motors and other dirty bits) with unique bodywork and interiors for different models...Ford and VW are in talks for the same sort of thing, I believe...
  12. They are still separate companies, though....Toyota only has a 16.5% stake in FHI.
  13. I don't see how it's different than any other shared platform JV project. Toyota is investing in the battery and electric motor development, Subaru is contributing the AWD parts it sounds like. No different from the 86/BRZ using a Subaru-developed engine or the Supra/Z4 using a BMW development engine. Each manufacturer in the JV invests in certain components. It is interesting to see Toyota finally getting on the BEV bandwagon, after years in hybrids and fuel cell vehicles.
  14. It's a shared platform between two manufacturers. Nothing new, happens all the time...like with Toyota and BMW on the Supra/Z4, or Toyota and Subaru w/ the 86/BRZ...except this time it's an EV platform instead of ICE.
  15. Yeah, that would fit the current trend of filling in the niches between subcompact and compact like GM is doing w/ the Trailblazer and Encore GX.
  16. Heh-heh..I haven't seen over 30 mpg in 30 years, since I drove a diesel Ford Escort that got 55 mpg. 20-25 is more than enough for me. I have the backup camera, but would like Android/Apple Play though.
  17. I like reliability, but couldn't imagine 30 mpg with a SUV... I'm content getting 20 or 25 on a road trip.
  18. I don't see myself buying new ever again....I plan to keep my CPO until 10 years or 100k then get another.
  19. BS....CPOs are a great deal....like my Jeep, I got a vehicle that new is over $40k for under $30k 3 years old w/ 25 miles in like new condition. I'd rather buy a 3yr old SUV w/ V6 than a new FWD 4cyl transverse engine shitbox at the same price.
  20. Ah, Venue is smaller than I thought. Venue is actually smaller than the Soul, apparently.
  21. I Well, they already have the new Telluride, different design language. But I wouldn't be surprised if the next Sorrento gets some of this frontal styling. Same platform as the Venue from what I've read..so bigger than the Soul but smaller than the Sportage... kind of Trax/Encore sized, I think?
  22. Random GX anecdote..a Swiss friend in Denver back in the mid 00s had an Envoy XL and his wife a GX as family trawlers...their kids were infants then. The Envoy is long gone, they still have the GX with over 350k miles now. (they now have teenagers, and have a late model Escalade and Volvo XC90 now).
  23. Bingo..as long as the power is sufficient, it's fine. Lexus owners aren't getting into pissing contests over 0-60 with M-B leasers or internet obsessives. With Lexus, it's about quiet and reliability. Nothing wrong with that being the priority. I wouldn't mind having an older LS or 1st gen SC, w/ the V8.
  24. I saw somewhere last week this was coming to the US and was to target Millennial buyers. I like the front end detailing.
  25. I'll probably watch that next week...I like both David Tennant and Michael Sheen. I noticed in the trailer there is a Reliant Robin also.
