You sure it's not that you hate BMW drivers? The stereotype is they tend be pricks and assholes. Have you driven any? The cars often drive very nicely, esp. the older ones before they became too mainstream. I enjoyed the E36 M3 I had, and I've driven friends' E46 3-series and E39 540i sedan, and a Z3...all were very nice to drive, great steering feel, manual transmissions, good handling. Also driven an E38 740i and it was fast and smooth, great steering feel and handling for a full sizer.

Industry News: Trump's Tariff Threat Turned Out To Be A Farce
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Industry News
I think 100 is the baseline of 1827. So 'VIII Trumps Tarriffs' is roughly 30% of the 1827 level, 'Smoot-Hawley' just under 50%, etc. -
Mercedez Benz News Mercedes Introduces the new GLB
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Mercedes-Benz
No, no GLB selling anywhere yet. It's international debut was yesterday in SLC. I think that pic was just speculative fiction.- 72 replies

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes Introduces the new GLB
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Mercedes-Benz
I don't think there is a 2019. There is a concept vehicle that was shown at the Shanghai show in April, pictured here in another thread. This is the production model.- 72 replies

Just another generic econobox CUV. Nothing significant.

Looks a lot like the concept that was shown recently. That side window profile reminds me of a mini-me version of the MKT.- 72 replies

Industry News: Trump's Tariff Threat Turned Out To Be A Farce

Regardless of political party, Washington doesn't run on 'morals' but $$$$. It's all about what companies/organizations own what politicians through lobbyists and donations. -
JL Wrangler has a ZF 8spd w/ the 2.0T. I've seen rumors the next gen GC may get this combo as the base powertrain.

Built on a Monday after a holiday weekend when the QA people were hung over? Or on a Friday before a holiday weekend when everyone wanted to get out...

That pic of an E-body assembly line made me wonder—on an assembly line of multiple models, did the wrong interior ever get installed in a car (like an Eldorado interior in a Toronado).

He'll probably demand a Nobel prize for it. -
In the spirit of 'the' I can add this...2019 colors not extensive for the CT6, but I like this blue gray..'shadow'.

Note that it says 'a PREVIOUS poster', not 'the PREVIOUS poster'. So the Mustang is definitely from a previous post.

Took a drive yesterday out into an area I hadn't been before (Norwalk and Milan, Ohio), saw a variety of interesting older cars..several 30s Model A hot rods rolling along (must have been a car show they were coming from/going to) , a sharp modded dark blue '68-72 Nova w/ an outlaw style hood, a pair of early 60s Studebaker 4drs in front of an old, closed gas station, a clean blue '64 Olds Cutlass 2dr ht, and a sharp white '73 Mustang convertible. Visited the Thomas Edison childhood home and museum in Milan, Ohio...neat little town w/ several museums. Then went up to Marblehead Lighthouse (been there several times) and out to East Harbor State Park and Beach in Marblehead--very windy and blustery on Lake Erie yesterday, but sunny. Saw a clean white '66 Impala 2dr ht near the beach. Ended the day at Firelands Winery in Sandusky for wine tasting...picked up a few bottles for the stash. Didn't see anything too interesting in the parking lot, though. https://www.firelandswinery.com

They have tried being an international product and sell abroad for years now, but it just doesn't seem to work.

Problem is if GM were to build something like that it would take too long to come to market (5 years from now?) and when it did the market will have moved on to the Next Big Thing... like the mid engined Corvette, which may be coming for model year 2020 when it should have been out 20-30 years ago if GM had wanted to play in that niche.
-
I don’t think AM has any identity issues at all. Luxury GTs remain their main niche, though they are expanding into mid engined supercars.

It's a lot of power for a 4cyl, but it's still just a 4cyl.

Your comment made it sound like AM had no racing history at all. And the comment about 'since Corvette was racing a LOOOOONG time BEFORE Aston Martin' is factually incorrect, since AM was racing before there ever was a Corvette. Facts count. Anyway, participation in international racing does add a certain prestige or appeal to a brand, whether that conveys into tangible sales numbers is questionable, but it does have it's place.
-
Actually, Aston Martin has a history in racing going back in the 40s...and won LeMans in 1959 w/ Carroll Shelby... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aston_Martin_DB3

Which I doubt would never happen..GM likes those generic FWD/transverse engine CUVs so they can use the same platform for multiple models at 4 brands. I can't imagine them doing transverse V8 again, but they do have a history of that.
