Whatever, believe what you want. The steep windshields are for aerodynamics. Only 3.9% of American men are over 6'2", so automakers aren't focusing on NFL/NBA sized people but on the majority.

Absurd supposition about Asian vehicles being made for small people only, considering the number of Asian brand vehicles that are specifically designed for the US market...like the Altima, Camry, Tundra, Pilot, etc..

Who knows; rural Ohio..it's been there 40+ years.

One thing I remember kids (presumably) doing to my folks when I was kid was filling the mailbox with corn kernels. The mailbox was almost a mile from the house at the end of the driveway, so really couldn't see what was going on down there at night. Another thing was running over the mailbox when it was on a thin post. My Dad fixed that by mounting the box on a 4ft section of telephone pole set into concrete.

My mailbox is like that, a flap set in the brick.. original 1967 I assume. And my front yard hose & hose reel is about 5 feet from it (have outside faucets right below it).

After an all-nighter doing a production deployment for my client (went to bed at 5am EST this morning), at the end of a two 50+hr weeks, I finally had a day to relax. On the freeway this afternoon, saw a primer gray '55 Chevy 2dr sedan w/ a black hood. Went to the casino for a concert tonight, came out and saw a black Ferrari 488 GTB w/ a temporary tag parked out front. But parked in front of it and getting more attention, was a sharp clean white 4th gen Camaro IROC-Z convertible from around '89-90, top down.

GM has shifted their focus to trucks, CUVs and SUVs which are higher profit, and left the sedan market to the Japanese big 3 and Korean brands that seem to be able to profitably build and sell sedans.

2019 Chevy Malibu drive by Car and Driver (cvt)
Robert Hall replied to regfootball's topic in Chevrolet
I think so, like on the 1st gen Camaros--they had SSes, RSes, and SS/RSes. Also Z/28-RSes. SS and Z/28 were the performance packages, RS added trim like the hidden headlights and different taillights. -
Porsche News: Porsche Unveils Two New Short-Term Loan Programs

I could see renting a Porsche for a day for a back country drive. But there are usually specialty rental places in various cities for that..- 4 replies

Lexus News: Lexus Announces Complete Lease Subscription Program
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Lexus
This model goes beyond a lease and includes insurance and maintenance. Though I think 6 months per vehicle would be more interesting than 2 years.- 6 replies

Isn't it the same, but with the wheel arch trim painted body color instead of black? Or not...anyway, it does look better w/ body color arches.

Challenger has 16.2 cubic feet. Score one for the fat guy. https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/dodge/challenger/2016/interior

Today's 2.3 Mustang is probably 1000lbs heavier..I had a '86 Mustang LX notchback w/ the 4spd manual...was my college car from '88 until it was totaled in '94. IIRC it was about $8k used when I got it in June '88 (had like 20k miles). My '87 Mustang GT hatchback was around $14k new in '87 IIRC. I think the original window sticker is filed away somewhere in my parents' house. Got it in June '87.

On the subject of tiny pony car trunks, my favorite Mustang of the ones I've had was a hatchback. A bit shallow, but w/ the backseat folded down, quite a bit of space.
-
Of the 3, I'd go with the Challenger--bigger, bigger interior, bigger trunk and a sunroof available (the Mustang hasn't had a sunroof option in decades).
-
I haven't sat in or looked too closely at the 6th gen interior, have they improved over the Fisher Price plastics of the 5th gen?
-
Maybe they do a quick MCE and give it a new front end for '20. The big problem they can't change w/ this generation, though, is the chop top and micro windows.

The grille, front fascia and front fenders have much simpler styling on the GMC. The Silverado has way too many details, cutlines and contours, IMO..overwrought. The GMC could look better with a couple changes--make a flat bottom to the grille opening (get rid of the left and right tabs) and get rid of the slot in the top center of the grille surround by the hood....

Saw an X2 in the wild today for the first time, a white one parked in a driveway around the corner. I thought it was a Hyundai at first..
-
Agreed...white with that all black front just looks dreadful, IMO As far as regular cabs go, I think the '14-15 Silverado or Sierra in regular cab shortbed form is one of the best looking GM pickups of the modern era..
-
It may make sense in a low trim level for commercial use. But maybe GM thinks only 0.0000005% of private consumers would be interested in one, so they are passing on it for now. The only pic of a regular cab '19 I've seen so far is a nasty base trim one..

Review: 2018 Mazda CX-9 vs. Volkswagen Atlas
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
I wouldn’t mind having something w a Hemi. The V6 is fine in my GC, but a Challenger SRT 392 would be a nice midlife crisis toy. Though I’m also interested in a Miata. I know, I’m weird...I find both hefty V8 modern muscle cars and lightweight traditional-style sports cars appealing...- 40 replies
