  1. The Mitsu version is sold all over, though..
  2. Ah yeah, the Fullback...I remember reading about that..it and the Mitsu compete w/ the Ranger, Hilux, Navara, Anorak, etc in Europe and Asia.... could give it a squared off Ram nose and badge it as the Ram 50.. ala 1980.
  3. I think it was something offered in regular cab trucks, because you need to be able to turn off the passenger airbag if using a child safety seat. I recall reading something about that long ago.
  4. Anecdotally, I think I've only seen a handful of 2nd gen Cruzes...they don't seem to sell very well (without looking up the numbers)..
  5. Hmmm....a switch to turn off airbags seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen...unless it can only be activated when in 4 wheel low and for low speeds...
  6. Yes, in Mexico, but IIRC it's based on old FWD Fiat car platform...doubt if it could be federalized or if it would sell well enough here...I saw a few of them in AZ and So Cal. Ram 700 https://jalopnik.com/the-tiny-ram-700-pickup-truck-can-carry-more-than-half-1652291667
  7. I think FCA is just undercapitalized and understaffed so everything takes forever to get going...the Ranger was easy, since it was an existing product that they brought in to NA.
  8. Wonder what they will call it...wonder what the platform is...the Wrangler pickup chassis with a Ram body and interior, or something else...
  9. Whatever, believe what you want. The steep windshields are for aerodynamics. Only 3.9% of American men are over 6'2", so automakers aren't focusing on NFL/NBA sized people but on the majority.
  10. Absurd supposition about Asian vehicles being made for small people only, considering the number of Asian brand vehicles that are specifically designed for the US market...like the Altima, Camry, Tundra, Pilot, etc..
  11. Who knows; rural Ohio..it's been there 40+ years.
  12. One thing I remember kids (presumably) doing to my folks when I was kid was filling the mailbox with corn kernels. The mailbox was almost a mile from the house at the end of the driveway, so really couldn't see what was going on down there at night. Another thing was running over the mailbox when it was on a thin post. My Dad fixed that by mounting the box on a 4ft section of telephone pole set into concrete.
  13. My mailbox is like that, a flap set in the brick.. original 1967 I assume. And my front yard hose & hose reel is about 5 feet from it (have outside faucets right below it).
  14. After an all-nighter doing a production deployment for my client (went to bed at 5am EST this morning), at the end of a two 50+hr weeks, I finally had a day to relax. On the freeway this afternoon, saw a primer gray '55 Chevy 2dr sedan w/ a black hood. Went to the casino for a concert tonight, came out and saw a black Ferrari 488 GTB w/ a temporary tag parked out front. But parked in front of it and getting more attention, was a sharp clean white 4th gen Camaro IROC-Z convertible from around '89-90, top down.
  15. GM has shifted their focus to trucks, CUVs and SUVs which are higher profit, and left the sedan market to the Japanese big 3 and Korean brands that seem to be able to profitably build and sell sedans.
  16. I think so, like on the 1st gen Camaros--they had SSes, RSes, and SS/RSes. Also Z/28-RSes. SS and Z/28 were the performance packages, RS added trim like the hidden headlights and different taillights.
  17. I could see renting a Porsche for a day for a back country drive. But there are usually specialty rental places in various cities for that..
  18. Fresh locally-sourced Key Lime pie was one of things i enjoyed about growing in the Florida Keys.
  19. This model goes beyond a lease and includes insurance and maintenance. Though I think 6 months per vehicle would be more interesting than 2 years.
  20. Isn't it the same, but with the wheel arch trim painted body color instead of black? Or not...anyway, it does look better w/ body color arches.
  21. Challenger has 16.2 cubic feet. Score one for the fat guy. https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/dodge/challenger/2016/interior
  22. Sign of fall..pumpkin spice flavor dog treats.
  23. Today's 2.3 Mustang is probably 1000lbs heavier..I had a '86 Mustang LX notchback w/ the 4spd manual...was my college car from '88 until it was totaled in '94. IIRC it was about $8k used when I got it in June '88 (had like 20k miles). My '87 Mustang GT hatchback was around $14k new in '87 IIRC. I think the original window sticker is filed away somewhere in my parents' house. Got it in June '87.
  24. On the subject of tiny pony car trunks, my favorite Mustang of the ones I've had was a hatchback. A bit shallow, but w/ the backseat folded down, quite a bit of space.
  25. Of the 3, I'd go with the Challenger--bigger, bigger interior, bigger trunk and a sunroof available (the Mustang hasn't had a sunroof option in decades).
