    While I see value in a service like this for a select group of inner city people, I do not see this being a mass market use here in America. I can see this more in use in Europe or the Asian Rim. You have to remember, more than half the country lives in cities. That's a lot of market. Blanket a city with a bunch of sharable cars and a lot of city folks will opt out of car ownership all together. Zipcar is far cheaper than fueling, insuring, and paying for parking for your own car. If you live in a spot with a few of these ZipCars around, it can be a viable alternative to a $350 a month car payment + insurance + gas + parking..... plus you can pick your car depending on your mood or needs. It makes perfect sense to me... at some point I want to live in a downtown loft type environment again somewhere, I did it for a few years in Denver (but still had cars). My next home when I leave AZ will probably be in suburbia, as I really want more square footage...

I think it's also a generational thing....a lot of younger, well educated people in the US prefer city life to suburbia and traditional commuting, etc.

    Services like ZipCar, AirBnB, Bike Share, cowork environments, are all part of the 'collaborative consumption' movement. Not part of my reality context, but I can understand the mindset for people who don't want to be tied down with ownership of stuff....

    Yes, sort like the neighborhood Enterprise rental car or U-Haul...I rent cars from Enterprise when I do a weekend road trip or a truck from U-Haul when I've had to move furniture to my storage unit.. But then why spend the money on ZipCar, why not just add this feature to your options. I am sure Enterprise or any of the other rental companies could do this also. It is not like ZipCar has a deep bench of customers to exploit. Brand recognition...the ZipCar brand is established, so this gives Avis an in to customers that would never have considered a regular rental car company.

    Yes, they have a location in Tempe, AZ on the ASU campus down the street from my office, which is quasi-suburban...

    Probably a one-off option combination on the Corvette or something like a 427/4spd in a Caprice 4dr ht or wagon or something like that....

    You are never going to see a new RWD V8 coupe or EL Camino at a Spark price, so you may as well stop dreaming...

    That's just the Midwest, though. Different market in So Cal, AZ, TX, Florida and other milder climates where there is more acceptance of RWD....

    Not all FWD 4 cylinder sedan. There will be some RWD and larger V8 coupes but they will not be cheap. Price will help limit the market is what the companies are looking at at some point. The prices will rise over the next 10 plus years to the point it will be difficult to afford anything with a large engine unless you have the means. FWD 4cyl automatic sedans (and CUVs) is the majority of the market today, soulless generic appliances..only going to get worse, since most new car drivers don't care about driving, that's where we are....such it is.

    Interesting.. Definitely a long way from the dreadful 88hp 2.3 I remember from my '86 Mustang LX.

    Or driven a car w/ a manual transmission. Different world today for drivers. I can't imagine ever owning a FWD 4cyl automatic car in my lifetime, unless I have a lobotomy.

    Coming home from a NYE party at about 1:30 am this morning I was passed by a white '13 Camaro ZL1. Sweet. I've only seen 2 ZL1s on the road so far, and both have been white.

    V6s are generally smoother and quieter than a 4, so I see that as an advantage.

    300hp 4 cyl? There isn't anything like that in production currently AFAIK. Sounds like it would be dreadful...loud, vibrating, short shelf life.

    I had a Lenovo Thinkpad from '09-11 for my work laptop at the bank, it never gave a problem, pretty solid laptop.

    Looks like the grille texture is linked to the Z71 package...I like the Z71 grille.

    Weird...it seems like the regular cab is only available in the lower trims.

    Neat car...the wheels and rear spoiler are a period NASCAR touch...the Collonade coupes did well in NASCAR for years..
