  1. Neither car is the answer but the ELR is more inline with working with the daily driving needs and single car needs of the real world driver. Cadillac will not only offer the market the ELR but we will also have a nice choice of the ATS, New CTS and LTS. Next the new Escalade, SRX and small SUV to be anouncesd. There will be more than just these according to the reports. People who need to travel across the U.S. usually fly. The Model S's range is plenty for any sane human being with a bladder. True enough....I enjoy road trips, but in reality when I need to get somewhere 400, 500, 1000, 1500 or more miles away, I fly..driving is too time consuming. Real world use for me is at most 50 miles a day. I rarely go on trips in the 100-400 mile range because I've already been there (desert void).
  2. How large is it compared to the competition..i.e. the Tacoma and Frontier?
  3. There is something seriously screwed up when a full size truck w/ v8 is that cheap yet the cheapest RWD V8 cars are more than twice that..
  4. Speaking of the Encore, I was presently surprised when I checked one out at Barrett-Jackson last weekend...very nice interior, seems well put together inside and out. Juke seems more targeted to the kids, who would be cross shopping the Kia Soul and Scions..
  5. Lexus will probably get a version. Toyota already has the 'xd', but it's not as out there styling wise as the Juke.
  6. The Ford B-Max (or a version w/ more ground clearance and mini-Escape styling) would make sense here also..the mini-CUV niche seems to be growing.. Maybe call it 'Evasion' to fit w/ the Escape naming theme..
  7. I was thinking Juke competitor in terms of size and spec, agreed it's not as edgy styling wise...
  8. Chevy has a Juke competitor, but is afraid to sell it in the US (probably concerned about it cutting into Equinox and Encore sales).
  9. Congrats..
  10. Who knows? There is no correlation to pricing across markets. European Jeeps are built in Europe (at least they were in the DC era, in Austria, I believe?) w/ VM Motori Italian diesels.
  11. It probably varies depending on the country, but in the UK the diesel is standard and the only available engine in the GC (except for the SRT) and Wrangler. A diesel is optional in the Compass there.
  12. A small Caddy based off the Encore in this space would be interesting, in 5dr and 3dr form..

    The Tide

I'm sorry to hear that, my condolences.. Alas, all my grandparents have been deceased for 30+ years. I lost a favorite Aunt Thursday..I'm in Kentucky for the funeral..she was 88 w/ Alzheimers, saw her last about 10 years ago. Happy memories of spending time w her and my uncle as a kid, riding in their Buicks. A positive is I get to see some cousins that I haven't see in a while this weekend.
  14. Agreed on leasing..buying new only makes sense if you are going to keep a car for a decade, IMO. Do they have 6 month leases that would accomodate ocn, though?
  15. If they do a crossover, it could be the XX.
  16. For some weird reason--don't know if it is the front end, but it reminds me of the Neon...like how a 3rd gen could have looked.
  17. Lance (though he probably lied about the cancer also)
  18. I remember seeing Merkurs on the lot at the small Ohio L-M dealer where my Dad bought his Lincolns, the service guys my Dad knew there said they weren't particularly happy about working them...I don't think they sold very many back in the day.
  19. Saw a blue Dart yesterday...never saw any until about a week ago, then I've seen 5 within the last week. Always seems to be that way w/ spotting new cars for me.. see one, then they multiply.
  20. Maybe he will run for governor of Utah, he'd probably get elected easily there. Anyhoo, I assume any Chinese Jeep production is for the Chinese market or other markets in the region? I know that there have been older Jeep models built under license in China for decades, does Fiat/Chrysler now sell Jeeps in China more directly?
  21. The Element is certainly the most practical and utilitarian in this class, but the Juke has more attitude and style.
  22. What's amazing about that pic is that it's at a ski resort somewhere, but all the cars are RWD!! No AWD, no SUVs, no CUVs, no FWD...and it's in color...from a time long ago that I'm used to seeing in B&W/shades of gray.
  23. It will be interesting to see where they go next....I really like the 300 as it is now, like the Charger and Challenger quite a bit also...hefty, sizeable, RWD, V8 available...everything i like in a car...
  24. I sat in the Encore at Barrett-Jackson on Saturday, along w/ the '14 Silverado, '13 Impala, and the ATS and XTS. The Encore seems Juke sized w/ a very nice interior.
  25. Since they haven't done a Cruze coupe, there is definitely an available niche for Chevy there.
