They will just spend it on developing more boring FWD models for the mass market. Boring, but that is where the profit potential is.

I don't know if it's on their website, but I just saw this video on CNN Headline News...a motorist that had been pulled over and ticketed for speeding put his Camry in reverse and backed up over the hood and into the windshield of a Crown Vic PI. All captured on video by the in-car camera in the police car...pretty funny.

Yeah, a performance Volt would be cool...call it High Voltage... Something that would be cool would be a Solstice with a tweaked Volt drivetrain..sort of a budget Tesla. That would give Pontiac both green and performance credibility. Of course, GM would never do this, since they have Pontiac on the Oldsmobile path to oblivion..

Alas, the GTO was the first model in a long time to have any relevance at Pontiac, which by 2003 was just another GM brand peddling mediocre FWD rental cars.

Yes... an interesting factoid was that a 4spd manual was available on the '79 GP w/ the 301, supposedly only 232 were built. A buddy in high school had a dark blue '79 SJ. That was a sweet car...no vinyl top. Another A-body of the '78-80 generation I like is the Grand Am..not so much the front end, but esp. the profile..squint and there is a slight trace of the '64-65 A-body in the coupe roofline, IMHO.. The Supreme was good looking...actually, I think all of the '81-87 G-coupes were pretty nice...

I agree..the Regal was the better looking of those two..later, the '81-87 Regal was my favorite looking coupe of that era. Though as far as the '78-80 A-body coupes go, my favorite was probably the Grand Prix..the only one with 4 headlights all 3 three years, IIRC. I always liked the dash w/ all the round gauges and vents. I haven't seen one in ages!
