  1. I see the V6 has 256 hp. This is the regular 3.6 and not the DI, I assume?
  2. That's one I don't remember..I remember the Corsica sedan, but not the hatchback. I also remember the Canadian Pontiac Tempest version of the Corsica, saw a couple of those in Florida years ago...
  3. latex
  4. There's a few other obscure small displacement V8s I was barely aware of--the Chevy 262 of '75-76 and 267 of '79-82, Pontiac's 265 in '80-81, and Olds' 260 of '75-82.
  5. Well, considering how many politicians are paid off by big oil, I'm sure there is not much effort made at stopping them..
  6. Well, it was a blink and you miss it thing...apparently only in the Caprice from '94-96....in '94-96 the Impala SS got the attention, the Caprice faded away..
  7. Probably something transient..they may have been updating their website tonight..
  8. Yes, basically a Japanese Buick. ES is to Camry as La Crosse is to Impala..
  9. Looking forward to seeing it myself at the end of the month at the Denver Auto Show..
  10. I'd love to see GM get with the program and offer a CTS diesel, Camaro diesel, etc. here...
  11. Math. The difference is probably the 'Comfort & Sound Package' vs. the 'Sport Package' + v8..
  12. Interesting...I wonder if the DNS entry for that site has changed..I tried going to CZ28.com w/ firefox and get this error: Server not found Firefox can't find the server at www.carch-default.partner. I tried with IE and got the 'server not available' error dialogs, I tried a second time, and it loads fine now..
  13. I seem to recall reading somewhere that one year, (in the '50s or '60s) the largest Buick was actually longer than the longest regular (non-limo) Caddy...
  14. Cadillac has one halo vehicle now..the XLR.
  15. I vaguely remember reading about that engine years ago..looks like it was made '94-96 and only used in the Caprice..
  16. Me too...though I like the terms 'secular humanist' and 'functional realist' also.. As far as cars, I consider myself brand-agnostic...I like cars in general...an all-around car enthusiast, not particularly fixated on one brand or another...
  17. GM has been it's own worst enemy for a long time...too many of the apologists blame Toyota, etc for GM's problems...GM is the biggest source of GM's problems, IMHO...
  18. If they could improve the aerodynamics and cut the weight for the next generation, (the Escalade is absurdly obese) that would help the fuel economy also..
  19. Those 4cyl versions are probably there to keep the dealers happy...the Saturn and Pontiac dealers regard Chevy as their main competition, I think... True, the Camry, ES350, and Avalon are platform mates, like GM has done with the Epsilon siblings and W-body siblings, for example...most every automaker does platform sharing... people seem to commonly confuse cloning/badge engineering (sheetmetal/interiors shared) with platform sharing (only dirty bits shared). Again, though, if GMC doesn't have the crossovers, the dealers will scream...
  20. Agreed..they are definitely improving, but still have a ways to go...better plastics, better fit and finish, more color choices, etc...
  21. Well, it couldn't do any worse..the 6.2 gets what, 12 mpg?
  22. Hilarious...that read like something from The Onion
  23. Ah, yes..those crazy royals..all the royal families of Europe seem to be related to each other..
  24. My experience working in large companies, both public and private, is that they are generally corrupt and fundamentally unethical...I don't trust them to do the right thing. But I'm a cynical contractor, so I'm in it for the money..
