Porsche's October Sales Up Over 60 Percent New Cayenne Enjoys Best Month of 2010 ATLANTA, November 2, 2010—Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars, Cayenne SUVs and the Panamera Gran Turismo in the United States, today announced October sales in the U.S. of 2,647 units compared to the same month last year when it sold 1,642 new cars, an increase of 61 percent. This represents Porsche’s second-best sales month this year. October’s strong showing pushed Porsche’s year-to-date results to 20,337 cars compared to the same period in 2009 when it sold 15,952, up 27.5 percent. Nearly all models in Porsche’s portfolio enjoyed increases during the month of October. Leading the way was the new Cayenne SUV, which saw sales of 1,139 units for the period – its best single-month total this year. The Cayenne’s October results demonstrate a strong and positive consumer response to Porsche’s next-generation SUV, which first went on sale in June with the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo models. In September, Porsche expanded its SUV line-up with the launch of the all-new 2011 V6 Cayenne, and yesterday the company began selling its new Cayenne S Hybrid. Sales of the automaker’s popular Panamera also recorded strong sales results for the month of October with 747 units sold. Year-to-date, Porsche has sold 6,312 Panamera models. While the overall sports car sector continued to be challenged by the weak confidence in the U.S. economy, Porsche enjoyed some relative success. Porsche’s mid-engine Boxster roadster recorded robust sales of 140, an increase of 36 percent for last October, while the German company’s iconic 911 sports car recorded sales of 528, on par with the same period in 2009 when sales were 539. In addition, dealers sold 565 Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned cars in October versus 546 for the same period last year.

Leading into a promising fourth quarter, October 2010 sales of Audi cars and SUVs not only marked the seventh record month of 2010, but also comes on the heels of the company's all-time third quarter record in Audi U.S. sales history of more than 25,000 vehicles sold. For October, Audi sold 8,128 vehicles, a 10.5% increase over the 7,358 vehicles sold in October 2009. Year-to-date in October 2010 Audi new sales rose more than 22% versus its prior year-to-date total of 66,876 vehicles sold. Audi also recorded a record-breaking 30% increase in its total CPO sales, as compared to the previous October. Overall, these results continue to keep the German luxury automaker on track to set a vehicle sales record in the U.S. by year end. The existing annual sales record for Audi in the U.S. is 93,506 vehicles sold in 2007. October 2010 Audi A3 sales not only jumped 144.9% from a year earlier as consumers continue to demand the Audi A3 TDI clean diesel, which is the reigning 2010 Green Car of the Year, but also experienced more than a 10% increase quarter-to-quarter. In addition, Audi Q5 crossover sales rose nearly 70% when compared to October 2009 and Audi Q7 sales also showed a nearly 20% rise from September 2010 with 789 vehicles sold. Audi has enjoyed significant sales growth across all U.S. regions as October 2010 marks three consecutive record-setting months for sales. MAZDA POSTS STRONG OCTOBER SALES IRVINE, Calif. – Mazda North American Operations today reported sales of 18,013 vehicles in October 2010, an increase of 19.5 percent (up 24.0 percent on a Daily Selling Rate (DSR) basis) over the same month last year. Year-to-date sales through October 2010 stand at 192,783, and are outpacing last year’s sales at this time by 10.0 percent (up 10.9 percent DSR). Leading the increase for the month was Mazda’s successful crossover SUVs. CX-7 reported sales of 2,483, up 46.8 percent, while CX-9 posted an increase of 56.7 percent with 2,497 vehicles. Year-to-date, CX-7 and CX-9 sales are up 47 percent and 43.2 percent respectively. The fun-to-drive MAZDA3 reported sales of 7,745, up 15.1 percent (19.4 percent on a DSR basis), while the versatile and stylish MAZDA5 recorded sales of 1,174, up 37.6 percent (42.7 percent on a DSR basis). The all-new 2011 MAZDA2 continues to make its way from ports to dealer showrooms and sold a modest 629 vehicles in October. Boasting a sticker price under $14,000, MAZDA2 is a stylish, eco-friendly, fun-to-drive five-door hatchback that offers a dose of Zoom-Zoom others in its class cannot. Mazda Canada Inc. reported 5,657 vehicles sold, a slight increase of 1.0 percent compared to last October. Year-to-date, MCI sales are up 6.0 percent, with 68,151 units sold. Celebrating its 40th Anniversary in the United States in 2010, Mazda North American Operations is headquartered in Irvine, Calif. and oversees the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico through nearly 900 dealers. MAZDA POSTS STRONG OCTOBER SALES IRVINE, Calif. – Mazda North American Operations today reported sales of 18,013 vehicles in October 2010, an increase of 19.5 percent (up 24.0 percent on a Daily Selling Rate (DSR) basis) over the same month last year. Year-to-date sales through October 2010 stand at 192,783, and are outpacing last year’s sales at this time by 10.0 percent (up 10.9 percent DSR). Leading the increase for the month was Mazda’s successful crossover SUVs. CX-7 reported sales of 2,483, up 46.8 percent, while CX-9 posted an increase of 56.7 percent with 2,497 vehicles. Year-to-date, CX-7 and CX-9 sales are up 47 percent and 43.2 percent respectively. The fun-to-drive MAZDA3 reported sales of 7,745, up 15.1 percent (19.4 percent on a DSR basis), while the versatile and stylish MAZDA5 recorded sales of 1,174, up 37.6 percent (42.7 percent on a DSR basis). The all-new 2011 MAZDA2 continues to make its way from ports to dealer showrooms and sold a modest 629 vehicles in October. Boasting a sticker price under $14,000, MAZDA2 is a stylish, eco-friendly, fun-to-drive five-door hatchback that offers a dose of Zoom-Zoom others in its class cannot. Mazda Canada Inc. reported 5,657 vehicles sold, a slight increase of 1.0 percent compared to last October. Year-to-date, MCI sales are up 6.0 percent, with 68,151 units sold. Celebrating its 40th Anniversary in the United States in 2010, Mazda North American Operations is headquartered in Irvine, Calif. and oversees the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico through nearly 900 dealers. Volkswagen Of America Announces 17.9% Increase over prior year's October sales 20,084 Products Sold, led by the all-new Jetta HERNDON, Va. — Volkswagen of America, Inc. today reported that October 2010 marked a 17.9 percent increase over prior year sales for their entire line of vehicles. The all-new Volkswagen Jetta sold 5,464 in its first full month of sales, the best non-Cash for Clunker sales month for Jetta since 2005. In addition to the Jetta, Volkswagen's Routan, Golf and GTI models also had increases in sales compared to October 2009. The Routan sold 1,103 units, a 64.9 percent increase from the same month last year. The Golf achieved a 65.7 percent increase and the GTI a 58.7 percent increase compared with the same time period in 2009. Consumers committed to purchasing more fuel efficient vehicles helped Volkswagen's popular TDI clean diesel models achieve its second best sales month of the year with 5,093 total sales, or 25% of Volkswagen's total volume. "Volkswagen continues to grow sales in all models and products through October," said Mark Barnes, Chief Operating Officer, Volkswagen of America, Inc. Mercedes-Benz Reports October 2010 Sales of 19,076 - Up 20% YTD MONTVALE, NJ - November 2, 2010: Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported October sales of 19,076 vehicles, an increase of 4.9% for the month and up 20.1% on a year-to-date basis. Impressive gains continued in both the Mercedes-Benz passenger car and light-truck categories. The strongest performer for the month was the 9th generation E-Class with sales of 5,568, bringing the year-to-date total to 50,298 (up 53.3%). The popular and sporty C-Class followed with sales of 3,771 and the versatile M-Class SUV rounded out the top three volume performers with sales of 2,826 for the month. Sales at the high end continued strong with sales of the flagship S-Class up 60.4%. Also showing strong gains for the month were the CLS coupe up 47.5% and the spacious R-Class crossover up 52%. The company also sold 59 of the newly launched supercar - the SLS AMG - bringing its year-to-date sales to 415. On a year-to-date basis, the company sold 184,431 new vehicles, an increase of 20.1 % over last year. Separately, through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) program, MBUSA sold 7,120 vehicles in October, up 31.05 % compared to October 2009 sales of 5,433 vehicles. Mercedes-Benz Reports October 2010 Sales of 19,076 - Up 20% YTD MONTVALE, NJ - November 2, 2010: Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported October sales of 19,076 vehicles, an increase of 4.9% for the month and up 20.1% on a year-to-date basis. Impressive gains continued in both the Mercedes-Benz passenger car and light-truck categories. The strongest performer for the month was the 9th generation E-Class with sales of 5,568, bringing the year-to-date total to 50,298 (up 53.3%). The popular and sporty C-Class followed with sales of 3,771 and the versatile M-Class SUV rounded out the top three volume performers with sales of 2,826 for the month. Sales at the high end continued strong with sales of the flagship S-Class up 60.4%. Also showing strong gains for the month were the CLS coupe up 47.5% and the spacious R-Class crossover up 52%. The company also sold 59 of the newly launched supercar - the SLS AMG - bringing its year-to-date sales to 415. On a year-to-date basis, the company sold 184,431 new vehicles, an increase of 20.1 % over last year. Separately, through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) program, MBUSA sold 7,120 vehicles in October, up 31.05 % compared to October 2009 sales of 5,433 vehicles. BMW Group reports best October sales ever BMW brand volumes up 12.4% Strong demand for MINI Countryman BMW 7 Series beats previous models’ sales record Munich. BMW Group sales recorded double-digit growth once again in October. With 128,593 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand automobiles sold worldwide (+11.6%, prev. yr. 115,278 units), the BMW Group achieved its best-ever October sales result. A total of 1,190,796 (prev. yr. 1,054,841) vehicles have been delivered to customers since the start of the year – an increase of 12.9% compared with the first ten months of the previous year. “Our new models, like the BMW X1, the BMW 5 Series Sedan, the BMW 5 Series Touring and the MINI Countryman, continued to report strong gains in October and made a positive contribution to our sales performance,” said Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Sales and Marketing. “New orders have been strong for all of these models, and based on the steady recovery of many markets, we continue to expect double-digit sales growth through the end of the year.” The BMW brand sold 107,789 (prev. yr. 95,867) vehicles in October and grew at a rate of 12.4% year-on-year. More than one million BMW vehicles have been delivered to customers (1,000,514 units, +14.6%) since January 2010. October sales were largely driven by the continued strong growth in sales of the 5 Series (+54.8% to 23,810 units compared to October 2009); the 5 Series GT (2,480 units); and the new X1, which was delivered to 10,162 customers last month. The other members of the X family also remained on course for success. Sales of the BMW X5 increased 8.5% to 8,578 vehicles, while deliveries of the BMW X6 were 11.7% higher at 3,827 units. The BMW 7 Series beat the previous model’s sales record in October: Since its market launch exactly two years ago, this luxury class model has been delivered to more than 100,000 customers – that is more than any previous 7 Series model within the first 24 months of its market launch. Sales of the BMW 7 Series have risen 36% to 51,936 vehicles since January 2010. The MINI brand was also able to increase its sales in October: Volumes rose 6.1% to 20,525 units. The MINI Countryman – newly introduced in September – played a significant part in this development. With 3,525 units sold in October, it already accounted for almost a fifth of all MINI sales. The company delivered a total of 188,275 MINI brand vehicles to customers in the first ten months of the year (+4% year-on-year). Robertson: “The MINI Countryman is well on its way to becoming a highly successful model. Demand is stronger than our already optimistic plans. This model will launch according to plan in other key export markets, such as the US, over the next few weeks and further contribute to the positive sales performance of the MINI brand over the coming months.” The BMW Group once again increased its sales volumes in its largest markets of Germany, the US and China in the month under review. In Germany, new vehicle registrations increased by 4.8% to 23,220 vehicles. In an overall market that has shrunk by 27% since the start of the year, the BMW Group expanded its market share by 2.4 percentage points over the same period to reach 9%. The BMW Group also continued on its growth track in the US despite the economic uncertainties in North America. In October, BMW Group retail volumes climbed 12.6% to 23,222 units. In the year to the end of October, sales of the BMW and MINI brands increased 7.7% to 215,274 vehicles. The BMW Group’s third-largest market, China, also remained a strong driving force behind the company’s growth in October. Sales to customers in the People’s Republic leapt 43.7% to reach 13,738 units. After the first ten months of the year, sales totalled 135,564 vehicles – an increase of 88.4% over the previous year. The Rolls-Royce brand’s strong growth continued in October: With 279 deliveries, sales quadrupled year-on-year (+298.6%, prev. yr. 70 units). Since the start of the year, deliveries to customers have climbed to 2,007 vehicles (+278%, prev. yr. 531). BMW Motorrad delivered 6,845 motorcycles to customers worldwide in October, exceeding the already strong sales result of the previous October by 1.7%. HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA SETS ALL-TIME OCTOBER SALES RECORD WITH 38 PERCENT INCREASE Retails Sales up 71% • Sonata up 125 percent over 2009 • Tucson up 260 percent over 2009 FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 11/01/2010 Hyundai Motor America today announced all-time record October sales of 42,656, up 38% percent versus 2009. Retail sales were up 71% percent, while deliveries to fleet accounts were down 46%. For the year, Hyundai has reported total cumulative sales of 452,703, up 21 percent versus the same ten month period in 2009, with retail sales up 29 percent. Through October, Hyundai has already exceeded total and retail volumes for the entire 2009 calendar year. Fleet mix for the month was 11 percent. “We were very encouraged by what appeared to be a general strengthening of the overall sales environment in October. The game-changing Sonata is red hot, once again outselling Altima, Fusion, and Malibu at retail. As availability improves for Tucson and Santa Fe, coupled with the launch of turbo and hybrid versions of Sonata, we expect to continue to set sales records, elevate brand awareness, and drive market share growth for the remainder of the fourth quarter,” said Dave Zuchowski, executive vice president of sales, Hyundai Motor America. “We’ll also sustain October’s momentum over the next several months with Equus, our fresh take on intelligent luxury, and the all-new, U.S. built Elantra.” Accent, Elantra, Sonata, Tucson and Genesis sales for October increased 17 percent, 10 percent, 125 percent, 260 percent and 28 percent respectively from last year’s levels. (NNA) today reported October U.S. sales of 69,773 units versus 60,115 units a year earlier, an increase of 16.1 percent. Nissan Division sales were up 15.2 percent for the month, and sales of Infiniti vehicles rose 22.9 percent over a year before. For the calendar year to date, NNA sales are up 16.1 percent. Deliveries of Nissan Altima models totaled 18,978, marking the second-best October in its history and a 28.5 percent increase over the prior year. Nissan Rogue set a new October record with 8,862 deliveries, up 48.7 percent. Nissan's lineup of SUVs, pickups and crossovers gained 35.7 percent, led by Frontier (up 51.3 percent) and Armada (up 35.5 percent). In its first month of availability, the Nissan Juke sport cross exceeded forecasts with 2,103 deliveries. "October marks another month of sales growth for Nissan," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division. "Rogue continues to set new monthly records, and stable fuel prices are driving sales of Nissan's trucks, SUVs and crossovers." INFINITI HIGHLIGHTS Infiniti sales for October were 7,930 units, up 22.9 percent from the 6,451 units sold in the same month a year earlier. Infiniti sales are up 24.7 percent in 2010. The all-new Infiniti M Line continued to sell briskly, with deliveries up 119.2 percent over the prior year. The all-new QX luxury SUV enjoyed its best October since 2004, with 1,157 units sold, an 88.7 percent increase over the prior year. Sales of the Infiniti G sedan were up 10.7 percent, thanks in part to initial sales of the new G25 sports sedan. "All-new vehicles in the Infiniti showroom such as the Infiniti M Line, G25 and QX mean new customers for the brand," said Ben Poore, vice president, Infiniti Business Unit. October represents the seventh consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases. The Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge and Ram Truck brands each posted year-over-year sales increases in October. “Chrysler Group remains on track as our monthly sales continue to improve over last year,” said Fred Diaz, President and Chief Executive Officer – Ram Truck Brand and Lead Executive for U.S. Sales. “Our new Jeep Grand Cherokee created a consumer buzz that generated showroom traffic and sales. Now we’re sparking more consumer excitement as we release images and details about our all-new and significantly-refreshed products arriving in dealerships this quarter.” In all, Chrysler Group this year is introducing 16 all-new or significantly-refreshed 2011 models representing 75 percent of its nameplates. Eleven of the 16 models will be launched before the end of the year. Five of the 16 are already in dealerships. The new 2011 Chrysler 200, which replaces the Chrysler Sebring, and the all-new 2011Dodge Durango sport-utility vehicle, are part of this steady parade of vehicle launches scheduled during the remainder of this year. Chrysler Group finished the month with a 74-day supply of inventory (245,739 units). U.S. industry sales figures for October are projected at an estimated 12.4 SAAR. October 2010 U.S. Sales Highlights by Brand Jeep Brand The Jeep Brand posted a 111 percent sales increase compared with the same month a year ago. All Jeep models in production posted a sales gain during October. Sales of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the brand’s volume leader, increased 291 percent in October compared with a year ago, driven predominately by sales of the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was named “SUV of Texas” by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). The automotive industry’s new benchmark, premium SUV also was named “Full-Size SUV of Texas” by this influential panel of automotive journalists. The 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara – complete with an all-new interior, body-color hard top, and legendary Jeep capability – took home the “Mid-Size SUV of Texas” crown. Sales of the iconic Jeep Wrangler increased 49 percent compared with October 2009. Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass also had a strong October as each model posted triple-digit percentage sales increases. The new 2011 Jeep Patriot, the affordable compact sport-utility vehicle, arrives in dealership showrooms this month with rugged new exterior styling, interior enhancements, and refinements to the suspension and steering systems. Ram Truck Brand The Ram Truck Brand posted a 37 percent sales increase in October and swept every category it entered in the Texas Auto Writers Association’s annual “Texas Truck Rodeo” in October. The new 2011 Ram Laramie Longhorn was named “Truck of Texas,” TAWA’s top honor. This year’s event had 57 pickup trucks, SUVs and crossover vehicles entered. The Ram Laramie Longhorn captures the true spirit of Texas and the Southwest which appeals to people all across America. Ram Laramie Longhorn is the most luxurious truck ever produced by the Chrysler Group and is designed for the owner who needs a truck for work or play, but won’t settle for anything but the finest quality and refinement. The Ram Laramie Longhorn also was named “Luxury Truck of Texas.” The 2011 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman Crew Cab was named “Full-Size Truck of Texas” and the Ram 2500 Power Wagon was crowned “Heavy-Duty Truck of Texas.” Ram pickup truck sales increased 41 percent in October as both light- and heavy-duty pickup truck sales posted double-digit percentage sales increases. Crew Cab and Quad Cab models continue to be the most popular consumer choices. Dodge Dakota sales also were strong last month, up 50 percent compared with October 2009. Dodge Brand The Dodge Brand posted a 3 percent sales increase in October. Dodge Caliber posted a triple digit percentage sales increase in October, compared with the same month in 2009. Dodge Challenger, a strong sales performer all year, and Dodge Nitro each posted double-digit sales gains last month. Challenger set a new sales record for the month of October. By the end of this year, Dodge Brand will fill dealer showrooms with a broad array of new or updated Dodge products, including the all-new 2011 Dodge Durango, a three-row sport-utility vehicle; the all-new 2011 Dodge Charger, the brand’s flagship vehicle; the new 2011 Dodge Journey mid-size crossover; the new 2011 Dodge Avenger mid-size sedan, totally overhauled for 2011 with an all-new interior, redesigned exterior and new powertrain lineup; and the new 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan, a minivan with the driving dynamics of a performance sedan. GM achieves third consecutive quarter of profitability and positive cash flow Net income of $2.0 billion, earnings per share of $1.20 DETROIT, Mich. – General Motors Company today announced that for the third quarter ending September 30, 2010, the company generated: Revenue of $34.1 billion Net income attributable to common stockholders of $2.0 billion Earnings per share on a fully diluted basis and adjusted for 3-1 stock split of $1.20 Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of $2.3 billion Net cash flow from operating activities of $2.6 billion Free cash flow of $1.4 billion "As demonstrated by our third consecutive quarter of profitability and positive cash flow, these results continue our significant progress," said Chris Liddell, vice chairman and chief financial officer. GM North America had EBIT in the third quarter 2010 of $2.1 billion, up from $1.6 billion in the second quarter. GM Europe had a loss before interest and taxes of $0.6 billion, down from a loss of $0.2 billion in the second quarter. GM International Operations posted EBIT of $0.6 billion, down from $0.7 billion in the second quarter. Net cash flow from operating activities was $2.6 billion and after adjusting for capital expenditures of $1.2 billion, free cash flow was $1.4 billion. GM expects to also report positive EBIT for the fourth quarter, albeit at a significantly lower run rate than each of the first three quarters, and profitable year-end results for calendar year 2010.
