GM News: Rumorpile: GM Puts Next-Generation Pickups On Rush
Ford is the only innovator? That's a laugh. The current truck dates back a long time and all Ford did was swap out front clips. Until the announcement of the aluminum 150 their "big innovation" was a turbo v6.... big deal.. Chevy had a truck with a midgate. Ram has 8 speed transmissions and height adjustable suspension.

Scion News: Rumorpile: What To Expect In Scion's Lineup
..erm... that's it? The Auris (a variant of which has already been sold in the States over at Lexus) and a rebadged Mazda 2 sedan.... while they send their one vehicle that they are especially known for to the great toaster graveyard in the sky..... sounds like a winning combination.

Consumer reports Recommends Ram over Ford or Toyota trucks
I think they're probably right. On the Impala it is probably the best value for your dollar even though it costs more than an Altima or Optima. It is much more solid and drives great. They don't feel "disposable" like the others I mentioned. The Ram rides better than the current F-150 and has a great selection of engines. UConnect is better than MyFordTouchedMeInMyNoNoPlace. The Ram's 8-Speed auto is fantastic.

Absurd used vehicle pricing
I'm back to looking at trucks for myself and the used vehicle pricing is insane. 2011 F-150 Ecoboost Supercab, leather, no nav, no-sunroof, 4x4... 63k miles ... $35,000 2013 Tacoma Double Cab, 2wd, V6, cloth seats, no sun-roof, rollin on 16s... 35k miles, $32,599 2010 Canyon Crew Cab, 64k miles, cloth seats, no sun-roof, $23,077 And these are their "no haggle" prices.... I'll have whatever they're smoking....

Buick News: Buick Envision Teased, Premieres In China Later This Year
It looks good, but it's really just a restyled Captiva with a Regal powertrain. The interior could carry over... I see the lower HVAC controls are lifted directly out of the Regal as well and the instrument panel is from the Lacrosse. I do think the exterior will get more tweaks for the US.

Opel/Vauxhall News: Rumorpile: Opel Ampera To Disappear In 2016
Yes... because it was an interesting front clip design that is not at all the homogenious trapazoid we get on every single car these days.

VW considering buying Fiat?
The trouble for VW in the US is that they have solid platforms and then drop the ball on the interior and most of the powertrains. The current Passat feels like a tank akin to the big old MBs, but the interior is such a let-down and only gets worse the more you spend because only things like seats and steering wheels get upgrades while the door panels and dashboards remain cheap feeling plastic. The 2.5 was a terrible motor with V6 like fuel economy and 4-cylinder like performance... sure, they've replaced it with a new 1.8T, but the Passat and Jetta have been selling for 3 - 6 years with that motor, so that is a lot of impressions formed. The DSG is a fantastic transmission for those who know what it does... but if all you're doing is buying a VW to commute in traffic, the transmission's hesitation and uncertainty of the world around it in heavy traffic lead a non-knowledgeable driver to think there is something wrong with their car.

Sad, it is the best looking variant this side of the ELR.

Can Cadillac ATS, CTS and SRX European Roadshow Win over the Public?
those were exceptions to the rule. On the lower cars, MB is usually a year or 18 months behind initial release.

GM News: GM Issues Six Recalls, Covers 717,950 Vehicles
Just got the first one on our Encore I guess. We stayed immune for a while there. I think they're just recalling anything and everything... get it all out of the way at once. Take the hit on the books in one year and move on. Their sales haven't stalled.... my friend who sold us the Encore last year is having a great month moving out Terrains, Encores and Sierras.

The CTS-V is coming next year. Even the Germans release their Hi-Po versions a year or 2 after the pedestrian model comes out.

It looks like a properly restyled Vue/Captiva (which is 180.1" in overall length) with enough makeup on to hide that fact from the general public. As long as the interior is similarly restyled, I don't have a problem with this. Though I have my doubts as to this exact design model coming to the U.S., I suppose it is possible.
