  1. Why shouldn't Telsa go after tax breaks? It's the industry norm.... BMW, Benz, VW.... even GM have all located production facilities in locations based on the tax incentives the localities provide.... or did you think BMW built a plant in Greer, NC for the stunning views....
  2. I can't really see because of the glare, did you take the decal off?
  3. Actually, all of the Buick Turbos from the 80s were decent. There is actually a decent following of the Turbo Rivieras on facebook in a group I participate in. The Turbo Rivs were just detuned versions of that same GNX motor.
  4. Sonic is still where it's at for me in this class.... and the RS model, though still not fast in the 0-60, is a hoot to drive with its modified gear ratios.
  5. There are lots here too. I saw one climbing the hills around Morgantown this week also.... he was easily able to outrun my big american V8.
  6. For BMW? Na, not really. They could resurect some old German brand and the cache of it being "by BMW" would be enough to let it take off... here in the states at least. The Euros are a skeptical bunch... us Americans each anything foreign that is spoon-fed to us.
  7. Jeep Quadra-Trac II has brake locking diff. It is just a different technology to achieve the same result. The only think the G-wagon might have on the GC is ride height and approach angle. GC can have adjustable ride height also.
  8. None of the entries in the segment have been particulary fuel stingy... I think the Colorado/Canyon had the most advanced engines in the class sadly.
  9. The Chinese are also buying our nuclear reactor technology. Westinghouse runs a very profitable business here in Western PA designing and building reactors for China.
  10. I like the Lagonda name, but wish it would be used on something that wasn't SUV. One of my british detective heros drives a Lagonda
  11. well, it still feels superior to the Taco
  12. Kia and Hyundai both did it. I see this as Mitsubishi's reboot.
  13. I suppose the TLX would handle better than the Accord on the track... but that really doesn't effect my morning commute does it. After that, I don't see much substance the TLX gives me that a nicely equipped Accord couldn't.
  14. I've recently rented a Nissan Frontier.... if I were buying today (note, before the GM twins arrived) this would be my pick. When Suzuki announced they were closing, I was actually looking at Equators (a Frontier badge job) to pick up cheap and run into the ground... but they went super quick with very little discounting.
  15. I suppose an AWD Cadillac ATS would work for him too... but he is pretty enamored with the entire Buick line right now except for Enclave (too big). He really really wanted the Verano, but no AWD nixed that idea.
  16. Maybe they saw the GM twins and gave up. I wonder if the Ranger is still due to return.
  17. The A3 is a handsome little premium sedan. It may be in the running for Albert's Buick Encore replacement n 16 months unless Buick releases the next gen Verano with AWD.
  18. I'm referring to the just-introduced, all new, 2015 Chrysler 200. A much nicer package than the rehashed Sebring you are referring to.
  19. Again, moving target. Look at that Malibu and impala. Impala is class leading, Malibu is so so. Chevrolet needs a much better car to compete with the fusion, chryco once again is wildly behind the curve. The 200 is a confusing car. It feels more premium than others in its price class, but it is also much smaller. It is kind of like the Regal in that regard but with a lower base price.
  20. Sending Jeep to GM to "run properly" assumes facts not in evidence.
  21. yet? We missed posting about it... but the Enclave is going on sale in China soon... being exported from the US.
  22. GM moved 60,000 Enclaves and nearly 90,000 Acadias in 2013 at roughly the same price points. I think Lexus is aiming a bit low in their sales potentials.
  23. Don't forget they have maseratti to feed too... and now that Masi is selling $66k base price LX cars that might put some crimp on moving Chrysler up market at all but Alfa should be Fiat's BMW fighter. Let Chrysler take on Buick, Lexus, soft Benz and the like... but be big, bold, American style luxury. They have the right idea with the 300, but they need better execution there.
