  1. A white Smart at a red light, the driver must have gunned it, cause he blew the doors off the grand Am in the next lane.

    08 STS

I haven't really been paying attention, does the Chinese STS still have a nicer (looking at least) interior?
  3. The person who looked at a potato and thought "I shall mash this" deserved a monument, or at least some oral sex.
  4. Bitter much? I dont make a whole lot (like $37k last year, which isn't too bad for a student) , but I dont resent those who make more or blame those who make less. Since adding the second income to my household, the financial dynamic has changed for the better, which led to a new car. Well, the old car catching on fire actually led to a new car, but the financial dynamic allowed for a new car. My brilliant idea was a CTS, which seemed a bit ostentatious for a couple of 20-somethings, and after throwing around a few other idea, she set her sights on a hybrid, which led to tracking down a Prius. Didn't refuse any vehicle based on country of origin, or consider what our neighbors would think, just began a process and let it play out.
  5. Demand has been way up, at least at all the local dealers. They cant keep them on lots. Camry hybrids are a little more attainable, we saw a few, test drove one. Civic Hybrids are plentiful, oddly enough.
  6. This is the type of immaturity that drives people away from C&G. There used to be intelligent discussion around here, now we get things like this. Its not even in the lounge, which is hidden from guests, its in C&G Features, a forum that should be dedicated to actual intelligent thought and not stupid ignorance.
  7. Hence those 3 little words at the end. Do it right. The Mini Cooper needs to be the benchmark for a small Pontiac. Its all in the suspension. The Mini is a fun ride with 115hp, I hear its even a blast with the 90hp of the Mini One they had across the pond.
  8. I did that at a traffic jam this morning. Low fuel light had been on for a while (the Fusion is really pessimistic, worse than my Solara was) so it seemed like a bad idea to burn gas for 10 minutes while I waited to move. In only put $20 when I got to a gas station, thats all I had in my wallet) but I have been filling up instead of going a few bucks at a time. I can go 11 days between fill-ups, which isn't too bad.
  9. Farmers, small business owners, etc will likely stick with their old trucks until they die, more so than they have been, given the craptastic economy. A well-kept Silverado will run a million miles, might as well keep it that long instead of trading it in at 400k.
  10. I'll say it again, a Mini-style Pontiac would do wonders for the brand. Other than size, does anybody have any complaint about the Mini? I haven't heard any. They do, however, garner universal praise for their handling and performance. So why the hell not? Just DO IT RIGHT!
  11. Yaris gets fleeted majorly. Prius sales may be down because supply is down. I had to do just about everything short of lewd sexual acts to get ours.
  12. The Patriot and Compass seem to be selling well, better than most other Chryslers, but Jeep doesn't have the stigma that Hummer has, not just with the media, but with average people. Hummer has an image issue similar to the image issue Olds had in the years before it was axed. Olds was seen (by many) to be cars for old people. Hummer is seen (by many) as a brand of gas guzzlers. The only way the H4 helps is if it gets exceptional mileage and GM advertises the hell out of that fact.
  13. Ok, its also about using that money wisely. The Intrigue is the only real CamCord sales thief GM had between 1990 (arbitrary year, didn't have anything really good before '90 either) and the 2008 Malibu, everything else was really half-assed.
  14. Just die already. The Sprinter will probably remain available in the US, just not as a Dodge. It seems like a pretty good alternative to other full-size fans, one segment that will probably sell steadily while sales in other segments fall.
  15. Its not about you, its about money, and there is money to be made with FWD blandmobiles, Toyota and Honda have proven that beyond a reasonable doubt. GM put their money into trucks and SUVs, which worked for a while, but didn't give them nearly the cushion of cash that Toyota has.
  16. Hummer has no future in an America with $4/5/6 gas, it just isn't practical, even if they went the diesel route, who knows where diesel is going to wind up $8/gallon? With the economy what it is, people wont be able to afford to buy and drive Hummers. Nothing to do with the media hating it its a simple matter of economics. Supply and demand. The demand is going to dry up fast, might as well cut the supply.
  17. Since you're looking for some hot fun in the sun, I'll throw out this spotting: 1st gen Expedition, going 70 down the highway, with smoke billowing out from under the hood.
  18. GOOD GOD! GM took away my one usual complaint. I'm hoping for the best.
  19. I wonder if some of the higher ups at GM read posts by "enthusiasts" and thinks "god, we'd be better off alienating these people" because the way some of you guys act like the sky is falling, I could see them doing that.
  20. A Mini style Pontiac (FWD and all) would do wonders for the brands image.
  21. Under the big, green arrow?
  22. All I see are Memorial Week Sale ads, compared to the annoying Honda Ridgleline (Tough meets Classy) and Honda Pilot commercials that run constantly. GM still cannot advertise the car, just the deal. I used to see CTS ads quite a bit, and those weren't bad, but they've tapered off.
  23. 1986 Cadillac Cimarron $2700? Thats about $2400 too much, I dont care if it only has 98k miles.
  24. Housing in Chicago is ridiculous, compared to Missouri, at least. A studio in a decent neighborhood, without a guaranteed parking spot, costs as much per month as my mortgage here. Owning something at $900/month seems like a far better financial move than renting something for the same money. Renting is a pretty bad financial move in almost any situation.
  25. Pontiac Custom-S in traffic, it was bright purple.
