  1. Halloween was alive and well in Southern California. Lots of kids and parents were walking around in the dark. There are far more houses with orange Christmas style lights and inflatables. I'm not sure that Halloween isgetting more PC. I would have to say less PC because now the older kids are wearing those French maid style costumes. The teenage boys were skate boarding between houses to save times and their trick or treat bags were backpacks worn on the front kangaroo style. I did notice that the houses on hilly streets were a lot less busy than the flat neighborhoods.
  2. Continuing on this... why does she have to be talking across time? Couldnt she simple be talking to another traveler who also came to 1928 with her?
  3. While I dont believe it was a time traveler, maybe in the future cell phones work differently without infrastructure. Maybe its a self contained transmitter receiver.
  4. It looks like a 1920's style hearing aid. You hold the large speaker to your ear. The amplifier is in a purse and connected by a wire. She's probably telling her husband or friend to slow down.
  5. It's awful! I've been complaining since I saw the first sketches and the concept. I can't believe that GM didn't fix that ugly butt.
  6. Too far! Let's not get carried away. I really do want to see this in person based on what you have said.
  7. I would never drive an "econobox" or a "penalty box". I cant stand SUV's. I need a premium small car. I hope the Cadillac ATS, baby Buick, etc will come to market soon. Ford is taking the first steps in bringing these cars to market, the Cruze is almost there but lacks the power and technology of larger cars.
  8. You can get an STD from people that are not prostitutes. Use protection.
  9. They need to legalize prostitution in the states. The police waste so much money setting up stings and decoys. I'd rather see our tax dollars spent on dangerous criminals. Prostitution is a victimless crime.
  10. Mitsubishi is a seriously damaged brand. They should just get out of the US. The only car I ever see in any numbers is the Lancer. They should find another niche automaker combine forces and come back as a new brand if they are going to make it in the US market.
  11. Horrible! It needs to look more like the cobalt coupe. This thing is a joke. No offense to the artist because the chop is top notch. This is more of a 3 door than a coupe and what we really need is a true coupe.
  12. They just passed a law to let the Volts use the HOV lanes. So much for this thread.
  13. Well the bulb was not working but I replaced it with a new bulb but it still has the same problem. I read on another board that this could mean a bad flasher relay. ANyonknow where this is located on the CTS?
  14. This morning I got in my 2004 CTS and the left turn signal indicator on the dash remained lit while the headlights were on. If I turned the headlights off the indicator light turned off. If I used the left turn signal the light would blink at double speed. I havent checked all the bulbs yet but I am hoping it means I have a light out. Any insights?
  15. The state is plenty stable. If we could just boot out the remaining Republicans in the state government including the governor our budget deficit would be gone for about $20/week in extra taxes. As a Californian, I'm opposed to any single passenger cars in the HOV lane unless they want to pay a toll for the privilege.
  16. If only we had passed universal healthcare. GM and Chevy wouldnt have this disadvantage against foreign automakers. Its a shame that we didnt get the public option.
  17. First of I think this law is unconstitutional. There is nothing in the constitution that requires anyone to provide proof of citizenship. There is no official language of the USA so speaking Spanish is hardly justifiable for singling anyone out. However, I hope that Arizona law enforcement totally abuses this law. They can stop and hold ANYONE for not producing citizenship documents. Do you look suspicious? Are you a suspected tweaker? Did you piss the cop off while he wrote you a ticket??? YES? Well then you better produce your proof of citizenship because you are going downtown for up to 48 hours while we figure things out. Seriously, I think I hear a bit of a Canadian accent there... I might have to haul you in. Oh sorry sir a Driver's license is not proof of citizenship. I cant wait til they start holding white people under this law. Let's see how opinions change. Hypocrites!

    Your Weiner

Chili, cheese and onions are the best. I love the ones from Wienerschnitzel.
  19. The biggest critic of Toyota is Congressman Darrell Issa ( a very conservative congressman) from California who opposed the GM bail out. To claim that this is somehow a Democratic conspiracy against Toyota is completely ludicrous. Furthermore, when a young person is in an accident no one ever believes them if they say it was the car that malfunctioned. Older people have more credibility in such cases and that is why Toyota is now going out of their way to discredit the older drivers as senile, fragile or incompetent. Toyota's whole handling of their defective cars has been dubious from day one.
  20. This stretch of I-8 in San Diego County is not on flat ground. This is the stretch that crosses the mountain range between the imperial valley (below sea level) up to mount laguna pass 6,000 ft and back down to sea level in San diego. I've seen this man interviewed on local television. He's a larger man and stated that he was standing on the brake pedal trying to get the car to stop. Luckily for him he was on a portion of the road that was heading uphill and so his Prius never got to 100 mph like some people claim is suspicious. He eventually was able to shut the engine off when the road got steep enough. I dont think he had any reason to make this up. That road is steep and windy enough with a lot of bridges and turns over deep canyons. It would have been utter foolishness to risk your life like that on this highway.
  21. How is this controversial? It's not really suggestive or sexy. I just don't get it. This is no more sexy than any woman on any other magazine. False controversy.
  22. I have noticed that Honda's new car smell has a fishy note to it. I wonder if they used some kind of fish oil based protectants or something.
  23. Too bad this recall involves so many different models. It would be great to stigmatize one model like the Pinto, Yugo or Corvair. Someone needs to come up with a clever yet catchy slogan. "Toyota we keep going even when you dont want to..." No, it should be something good.
