  9. The end of WESTERN----AND----EASTERN CIVILIZATION is TRUELY HERE!!
  10. 1985 Camaro 2.8L V6 339,000 miles! 1974 Ford F250 SUPERCAB 390 V8 70,000 miles!----YEP THATS RIGHT! The 74 TRUELY has MANY less miles then the BEATER 85 CAMARO!-----And with GAS PRICES what they are it will STAY THAT WAY!
  11. ((((AMEN!!))))--- ---The return of the PANNEL TRUCK but in a smaller more efficent package would be a GREAT THING for GM to do. Nobody is doing that in the states now yet they are doing well in Europe. I could see small businesses useing it instead of INEFFICENT LARGE VANS. I could also see young males useing them as SPEAKER FILLED BOOM-BOOM SHACKA-LACKA CUSTOMS! I think they would do well here!
  12. I just wish the MONARO had been brought over YEARS SOONER in a vairious DECONTENTED form's as a MONTE CARLO instead of a GTO. It could have had a 200HP 3800 seriesII V6 as a base Engine in the mid to late 90's with a opt 300HP 5.7L LS1 for the SS. -----And most of all it would have been ((((RWD!!)))) Today it could have the 240HP 3.9L as a base and a midrange 300-320HP 5.3L V8 as an opt with the 400HP LS2 as a $30K SS! GM should have hired LUTZ YEARS SOONER away from DC and this COULD HAVE HAPPINED!!--------OHHHHHHH THE POSSIBILITIES!
  13. A really powerful and LARGER NS replacement would be needed to deliver the low end torque & HP of the LS2/HEMI lines for BUICK. Maby say a 5.0L DOHC 4VPC 375HP NORTHSTAR-II with at least 370FT,LB of Torque at a LOW RPM by useing a long stroke. And give it DOD and VVT while useing the new 6SP auto trans. Or better yet use the LESS COSTLY/MORE POWERFULL/ALLREADY IN PRODUCTION OHV LS2! Let CADDY/SATURN/SAAB have the DOHC next gen NS V8's and the HFV6's. BUICK could be the WORLDS ONLY OHV luxury car maker useing the BEST OHV ENGINES GM can make in their SMOOTH POWERFULL LINE of ALL AMERICAN LUXURY TOURING CARS!
  14. Its the upcomeing STEAL FRAMED NON Z06 475HP (427 CORVETTE)!
  15. I see your point about BUICK being close to CADDY and a competitor for LEXUS so they should be DOHC/4VPC. But the NOW UNDERPOWERED 4.6L 275HP NS V8 in the LUCERNE/DTS wont cut it. With 300+HP comeing out of (((V6))) competitors now it seems to me the OHV 5.3 with DOD would have been a better and more fuel efficent choice over the NS V8. If not then they should have at least used the 300HP NS instead of the NOW SAD 275HP one. And dont forget if GM has a RWD INVICTA/ROADMASTER in their future ZETA plans would you not rather them use the (OLD TECH) OHV LS2 with 400HP over the 320HP so called (HIGH TECH) NS?
  16. Good points. The SATURN brand should remain DOHC across the line with the base engine in the aura the same 2.4L I4 from the SOLSTICE. And let BUICK use OHV like the LUCERNE should have the (MORE POWERFULL) FWD 5.3 from the IMPALLA SS instead of the NORTHSTAR it uses today. It would be QUICKER and MORE FUEL EFFICENT then it is today. Let CADDY have the NS line to itself. So CHEVY "except I4's" should be OHV 2/3VPC. The same with PONTIAC and BUICK while SATURN/CADDY/SAAB could be DOHC 4VPC.
  17. I guess they are saveing the HFV6's for BUICK + CADDY. 275HP from a N/A 3.9L HVV6 sounds FINE TO ME! Now take the 3.6L HFV6 up to 270HP for BUICK and 300HP for CADDY--WERE IT SHOULD BE TO BE COMPETITIVE--and I would have NO COMPLAINTS!
  18. It seems they--"near luxury/luxury brands" all have the AUDI POINT at the C piller----OR----the BMW DOGLEG KINK!-----WHATEVER HAPPENED TO (((UNIQUE TO THE BRAND STYLEING!!)) Please GM something DIFFERENT ((PLEASE!!))

  25. Cadillac should never follow the imports to the point of mimicking engine displacements. Homogenization has slowly been killing the aspirational automobile. Call it the 'NASCARification' if that works better for you. Also- increasing displacement to increase power has been a running practice of many of the imports- Cadillac has been increasing power & decreasing displacement for many years now. NorthStar just dropped .2 liters in it's recent redesign, what's the point in increasing it to 5.0 liters? That is NOT even remotely considered being competitive. The point of a larger displacement of 5.0L's is to allow for MORE POWER and TORQUE at closer RPM's to todays NS. And with DOD and other advances fuel economy should be as good IF NOT BETTER then todays NS V8. Larger Engine-&-Better fuel economy at a lower quieter RPM?? Why not? And they NEED to pay attention to their competitors allso.--MB 5.5L V8 382HP - BMW 4.8L V8 360HP - Caddy 4.6L V8 320HP @ 6200 RPM's!! A 5.0L NS V8 as tuned today would put out approx 345HP but if tuned like the BMW mill it would put out 370HP so an even 400HP at around 6700 RPM's would be BETTER THEN ALL THE OTHERS!
