  1. I agree, the outside does tend to rip off of some other trucks, but that isn't as offensive as the inside. I am REALLY starting to dislike Toyota and Nissan designs. They are all starting to look like the cars of the "future". Which isn't a good thing. Honda is starting to show this in their new Civic too. The big 2.5 are starting to show some MAJORLY superior styling to these "trend setters".
  2. I think he should take after Dieter Zetsche. He has the best stash in the industry.
  3. I AGREE! Listen, I beleive GM will make the comeback to end all comebacks! I think these doomsday articles, while tireing, will give GM more of a reason to show the media and all the Japericans that GM will be the the worlds best vehicle company!
  4. I thought the commercial was great! The web site is a good, thick layer of icing on the cake. I think GM needs to make serious commercials, but throw some like these in there to mix things up.
  5. Yeah, the UAW would be all over ANYONE that builds a factory in Michigan. Even though the UAW's existence is aiding the demise of northern industry.......they will still try to unionize Toyota in the north. After that, they will start to go after all the other Toyota factories in the USA.............like a virus. Anyway, Toyota could be looking at building a factory in the north, but that would be one of the biggest mistakes they they have made in the history of their company.
  6. True! You must admit that the new GM full size SUV's are not better.............they are MUCH better! Even with a price increase, this SUV is still a much better buy.
  7. Oh, trust me, Mercedes won't let this one go. Anyway, I think China will be an automobile powerhouse in the USA market in the not to distant future..........like it or not. Obviously, they can't make vehicles like this one though!
  8. That's a tuff one. I think our dealership is in the same situation with a customer. You are right............they won't beleive it and will think we are crooks.
  9. Hyundai will be first, then Chinese auto companies will come into play. China dislikes Japan more than we dislike Toyota. When a major Chinese auto company comes into play, then Japan will get these "concerning" comments towards them X100. I don't think GM will die off though. I think GM will be keeping Toyota on their toe's more year after year. Look at the designs Toyota is coming out with..........now look at GM. Where is the new MR2? Now, where is the Solstice? That is just the tip of the iceberge. The hunger for terrible looking vehicles will soon demenish. I think GM needs to keep coming out with cutting edge designs, and Toyota will begin to lose (yes, I said lose) market share. It might take years..........but it can happen!
  10. Also, I applaud Jeep for understaning it's market and creating the EXACTLY dead-on messege through press like this.
  11. The only thing missig was pyrotecnics! Then it would of been the intro to end all intros!
  12. I'm glad they didn't soften it also! They need to be VERY careful changing this vehicle, because the Wrangler is one of the premier icons of what an off-roader should be! As I said before, I kind of like that new FJ, but that screems civil while the Wrangler screems mountain man!
  13. I agree! You know, their quality is getting MUCH better, but they keep makig knock-off vehicles. You would think Hyundai has enough cash to hire some decent designers with a mind of their own.
  14. I kind of like it too. I don't really like any Japanese vehicles (except that FJ), but I would get this before a Honda or a Toyota. I used to hate Sentras, but this is an improvement. I must say though, if I had the money to spend I would pay the inflated price of the VW. MUCH better IMO. By the way, don't laugh, but does anybody see a little bit of Ion influence on the outside?
  15. Looks inexpensive + fun! I think they will have a hard time making this street legal in the USA. If the SMART is having trouble this will too (especially with 3 wheels).
  16. Also remember that it's 25% above an already improved engine! Great job GM!!!!
  17. Lets hope they pull off another Solstice job!
  18. I can't remember what the trucks were but the Ridgeline has such offensive styling I can't beleive it won. On the car side, I beleive (even if I were not a GM fan) that the Solstice is way more signifigant in the USA market than the Civic. Sure, the Civic is more practical in evey day driving, but so are MANY other vehicles. The Solstice brings to the USA market a low cost, A-1 styled, drop top vehicle that the USA market has NEVER had. Yeah, the Miata is in the same market, but that vehicle never had the eye popping styling that the "look what I have" USA market craves. The USA market has been craving a vehicle like this for decades. Look at the insanley long waiting lists, and the never-before seen lust upon this vehicle. THE USA WANTED THIS CAR BAD! The Civic on the other hand (while good......but VERY ugly on the interior) is a vehicle that so many other car makers are building. I am very dissapointed in the decision that the auto writers have made.
  19. I kind of agree but not totally. I think a reserve power source is important BUT not on all vehicles. Toyota puts their complex system on everything. I like how GM is not being suckered into the "one hybrid for all" scam. Sure, I think GM's big hybrid coming up is going to be very important, but simple vehicle systems like this will be just as important. Good job GM!!!
  20. Lucerne! You will thanks yourself when you have that smooth, quiet ride on the way home from a long days work.
  21. Good question. It's the details like this that often ruin the sales of great vehicles.
  22. Yeah, my friends 97 Tacoma requires that too. Many of their vehicles do. An added cost that many people don't know about.
  23. I agree! A self respecting car company would never use an antique technology! Wait...........the Japanese didn't make it so it's no good!
  24. This story gets to the core of the problem! The end is so true too. GM will have to save themselves. I know I sound like a broken record, but GM is going to have to move out of the USA to survive. This is becoming more like a fact every day!
