  1. For those that say GM is not changing. The Cavalier is and has been at the bottom since it was introduced. The Cobalt however is the top rated small car in crash saftey. IIHS crash saftey ratings The more modern products / platforms, continue to rate near the top.
  2. What's wrong with the current edition Delta? No magazine has complained about the chassis or it's possible dynamics. They just want a nicer interior / exterior design with more power.
  3. They look very Korean like (old school).
  4. The WRX has taken Subaru to a new level even for those that don't buy it. The Cobalt needs such a piece in it's product line to help it stand out from the rest of the crowd. The SS Supercharded, though great, is not powerful enough, or odd enough to stand out.
  5. The BMW is more of what people would be looking for today. Though back then the Seville was the choice car (not my choice ofcourse).
  6. Face it, Saturn hasn't had a vehicle worth buying for years. Hopefully this will atleast putsh people forward to want to buy them beyond customer service.
  7. So sad when Mercedes is putting a new front end on a Chrysler.
  8. I remember honda saying the last generation was of better quality than the previous, but we all know that didn't turn out to be true.
  9. I think it's a great idea. Something new at little cost for GM to do. People love the idea of being able to buy wood chips and things of that nature when the go to Home Depot, but the problem is current gas prices. I think a small p/u is a great idea.
  10. I'm guessing you don't live in the NW where GM is hurting in sales. Subaru is queen around here and GM needs products that would appeal to people here. Adding an AWD small car line would be perfect.
  11. Have them wait 2 more months for a Lucerne.
  12. A few tweeks and it would make a great stateside product.
  13. The front end, and wheels look very Escalade stand outish though.
  14. The dealer I bought my Cobalt from had 2 in stock and now have 1 in stock. Great to hear GM has some products they can sell without advertising. Heck, I don't know why the spend a dime advertising the Solstice at this point.
  15. I don't know if GM is really lacking that far behind on their newer products. Back in the day GM was the innovator, now they are the ones to rip. Is the new civics interior really that great? If that was the Cobalt's interior, GM would have been nailed to the wall for it. What's lacking is the press and the public to start recognizing GM for it's positive as well as it's negative traits, not just their negative traits. GM does need to do more stand out products, and jump on the band wagon of being first again (which they sort of have with the Solstice & Sky). By not doing a 300, or . . . they don't give people the opportunity to go WOW! Without the WOW product (Solstice) you don't sell the other products (like the G6).
  16. The cladding is lost, but how do you know the stand out overall styling is? If you took away the front end of the Ford & Dodge trucks and SUVs there isn't much there. Face it, very few products have "different" side profiles from alike products (though cross-over SUVs seem to be the exception to this).
  17. It does show that GM is slowing down on their recalls as they get into their newer products, as toyota and honda seem to have more recalls with their newer products.
  18. Why not. Getting the basics from Subaru wouldn't be hard, and it really could help the Cobalt stand out. Though I think doing such a product with Saturn makes more sense. Especially considering the way Saturn wants to go.
  19. This was our thought exactly when we bought ours. I just wanted a manual, good gas mileage, a/c, cruise and a CD player. So far the car has turned out to be more than we expected. 2700 miles already and no complaints.
  20. I just hope they keep the inside as different yet cool as the Centieme.
  21. The Cougar looks the hottest of the three, has decent quality, though it rides coppy. The GA, though not expensive, just hasn't turned out to have the quality rankings of the Alero or others.

    GM

This is the stuff that doesn't get out about GM enough. People love to blast GM, but they fail to realize how much GM does do for the environment, and for people.
  23. Cobalt - The interior and exterior of the honda are way to 80s for me. That digital dash is down right horrible.
  24. So will digital dashs be "cool" via the car mags now that honda uses it? My opinion on the rear seat part; If my wife and I wanted rear legroom, we would have bought a Malibu or Impala. Not that more legroom isn't good, it just wasn't our priority when buying a compact. The area the Cobalt needs help is in the gas mileage ratings. People do buy compacts for good gas mileage, and the Cobalt isn't rated so good.
  25. The beauty of living in Pittsburgh. You can buy a nice house in a good neighborhood for little money.
