  1. I wasn't hoping for it, I was being an jackass
  2. A question from something that occurred to me while reading your post: What do you think about having a Chevrolet-Holden-Cadillac lineup in Australia, with Holden=Saturn=Opel?
  3. Important question: will it be a (i.e., hardtop), or will it have a B-pillar?
  4. Here in Portugal a Mercedes is still seen as the car of choice of 'shady' construction sector business men. I guess that in NA it's an old man's car
  5. Dead? EDIT - I find it interesting that I'm not seeing much of a role for Pontiac, FOG's excellent post does not leave that much room for Pontiac, and you asked the question I quoted... There's the chance of a Pontiac consisting of small rwd sporty cars, but why can't other brands offer those?... Interesting indeed, and whatever the result is I already have my popcorn so I can watch the show unfold.
  6. Maybe, but I haven't heard people complaining about the new Audi A4 being a pig and the platform will be used in different sizes and configurations. It can be done.
  7. Pontiac's future small car addition in the US?
  8. As long as Alpha is something close to a modular platform that is flexible enough to build very different vehicles (sedans, coupes, convertibles, crossovers, etc.) in 2 or 3 size classes, it can even come with a steam engine!
  9. tub tarts naked girls that used to soap well known rock stars after concerts
  10. I should have used the expression subjective opinion on my post :AH-HA_wink:
  11. reduce structural costs because of uncertainty in revenue/profits in na. it lowers operational leverage in na, which means operating earnings from na operations will be less volatile to changes in sales/revenue. i'd want such a lower elasticity of operating earnings too if i wasn't too confident about total market and my own sales growing over the next few years.
  12. bar
  13. I saw a Mini Clubman on the road a couple of days ago. I had seen 2 at the dealer when I went there to say 'hi' to the sales lady (If you saw her, you'd know why I always go there to say 'hi', hehe) and after seeing it on the road I still think it's cool, but in a weird way... I prefer mine over the Clubman.
  14. My opinion is the Camaro is better in taking retro cues and wrapping them in a modern-day package.
  15. I think the CTS Wagon will happen because of wagon's popularity here in Europe.
  16. Are we playing Jeopardy?
  17. I like the Sierra's front end much more than the Silverado's.
  18. The way I see it it's either that, the development of a Sigma-II (perhaps it's too expensive as an alternative), or Zeta given to Cadillac and taken away from Holden in terms of further/future development of the architecture.
  19. That is 'juicy' news for me :AH-HA_wink:
  20. I was really, and I mean REALLY needing to read something like that today. Thanks for sharing that!
  21. Depends on what right means and on how much money it takes to do that.
  22. I think people are, in general, overreacting. GM needs to have a balanced product portfolio and to me that includes RWD, FWD and AWD products. Those RWD, FWD and AWD products will come and what's happening is GM is making business decisions in a context where the company has taken big hits over the last 30 years and does not have money to throw at anything that moves. If Toyota wants to please itself engineering a new V-10 or V-12, they have the cash to do it. GM cannot afford that, it needs to prioritize. Lutz prioritized the GMT900s, the Lambdas, and the rewoked Malibu ahead of the RWD cars, didn't he? On the subject of the small-car issue, a Buick below the LaCrosse might be interesting. Maybe Buick and Saturn+Saab would make an interesting set of brands: One offering American flavoured cars, the other two as the Euro-DNA brands. That pairing, and Buick's relevance in China might justify overlaping brands as premium offerings (premium in the sense of being between volume Chevrolet and luxury Cadillac).
  23. One dicks around with gf or bf depending on sexual orientation. This is just about cars! GM has new fuel economy rules to comply with, as a US maker they'll never want to be in the position where they have to pay huge CAFE fines (also whatever money they make has to be used in product not in paying fines). I'd like to see RWD cars too, but I understand where GM is coming from a business standpoint. Out of curiosity: would you be happy with an Alpha car?
  24. In Business speak, maybe they're 'reassessing', not 'killing'
