  1. 2.0L I4 engine would be about 280hp. At least that's my expectation for the Astra OPC engine.
  2. Re AWD for the Verano the argument is shot down quickly because the rear suspension on the Cruze and Astra/Verano does not allow room for a rear differential. IDK about the floorpan having enough space for a driveshaft, but given the rear suspension configuration GM went for, I seriously doubt it. Taking the Astra OPC as a Verano GS could be an interesting option, but then you'd have a Verano GS with 290hp and a Regal GS either with the 255hp 2.0L or with the same 290hp tune...
  3. Dinossaur
  4. Very conservative styling. Too conservative, perhaps?...
  5. If that Gamma-based Chevy CUV makes it to Europe I'll be very interested in it. Also because Ford, IIRC, is said to be developing it's own small CUV based on the Fiesta platform.
  6. up
  7. Quick note: something's not right with the hatch's trunk size: 539L capacity is more than an Astra wagon (500L).
  8. I really like the hatch, the sedan less so.
  9. I agree: those 90K Cadillac will be needed as the top element of Cadillac's core cars, but only when the ATS and CTS are well established as he best in their respective categories. With people looking to buy something not as expensive, the opportunity now exists for Cadillac to make itself more visible; it's a good time to make that extra effort in extending brand awareness to those that have been looking exclusively at BMW, MB and Audi.
  10. Will Tails be there as well and... should we worry about Robotnik? Seriously, now: thanks for the link. Will the video be available after the live reveal as well?
  11. Those two as the main competitors struck me as odd, but hey... PR-talk is always fun to read! BTW - AFAIK we don't get that poo-poo brown exterior color on the Astra.
  12. Nice looking little Astra sedan, there! I hope they offer it at least as loaded as the Cruze LTZ, with a couple of equipment packages as options. And please, GM, do not offer any idiotic rear spoilers on this car.
  13. Bond... James Bond Couldn't resist replying How are things, B?
  14. Which means that the problem is not the engine itself but most likely the transmission's software calibration...
  15. nightmare
  16. The expense bit worries me: a vehicle that sells for $50K and is based entirely on existing architectures and engine families sold at far lower pricepoints is not profitable? Its profitability is all dependent on the USD/AUD exchange rate? How on Earth does GM allocate costs? =/
  17. Thanks. Yeah, more commercial fleet business is better than selling to rental fleets. Good stuff!
  18. Silly question: Don Johnson? Really? Serious question: Fleet/Retail mix?
  19. Welcome back, Ted!
