  1. 98 regency seemed like a good guy...I'm not sure, I never communicated with him...but a lot of his posts were mostly news...Every morning when I woke up I clicked on view new topics and got a list of threads started by 98...some of them were good reads, the majority of them were too long, and for the most part they never got replies...I also noticed he tended to post a lot of repeat threads and a lot of garbage from AutoLies...
  2. That's right...but it was pretty much completed before Hooydonk's Z9 concept in 99 debuted which was the source of all the designs bangle is currently known and criticized for...btw, for those of you who dont know the Z9...you dont have to stray to far from the current 6er to get an idea of what it looked like...the car also brought us the infamous i-drive setup and had a weird door configuration where the doors could be opened normally or gullwing style...

    Airless Tires

yea, this has been around for a while now...its a great concept, I just wonder how it would perform...it looks like it would give pretty good grip when cornering...It looks kinda strange though, I wonder if they would be able to give it a flexible sidewall so it doesn't look so strange...that and I wonder if it could be applied to aftermarket rims...or any rims for that matter
  4. yea, the X5 hasn't changed much since its intro in 99 except for it's refresh in 04...luckily it has pretty much stayed un-bangled for now...though the new x5 should be around soon...with the spy pictures it is hard to tell what it will look like...
  5. for the most part I like the 6er all except for the rear...Adrian Van Hooydonk, the creator of the Z9 concept is the one to blame for the design cues, Chris is just responsible for executing them...
  6. if one was to do that, how would it affect the paint if it wasn't washed in a timely manner?
  7. My grandma drives a 95 Z/28...she's probably gonna hand it down to my sister...she wants to get an SRX or something like that...she knows she wants a caddy anyways...
  8. laser is detectable, but it's just harder to detect, like instant-on radar, it happens for a split second, but the detector will pick up on it...Mine has picked it up a few times...
  9. oh, btw Mute...sorry, I was referring to laser, not radar (pertaining to color of the car, etc...)...heres the articel with more info... http://www.valentine1.com/lab/MikesLabRpt6.asp Laser jammers actually work very well from what I have gathered...highly illegal, but they work. As far as trying to fool them goes it isn't hard...especially because how they are used greatly determines the accuracy....a laser gun has to be pretty precise, so it's all up to the user...any reflections or the slightest wobble (say the cop has a shaky hand) could throw it way off...
  10. already checked out my parents credit union...they had me set up an accoutn and everything, and I already told them I had no credit....then after all this hassle, they told me, oh, wait, you have no credit...sorry...DENIED!...But it's cool, I talked it over with my parents and they decided that they will co-sign it anyways regardless of what their FA said...
  11. I'm excited about the LS3...I wonder if it will be the same as the LS2 perhaps but the 3 valve/cylinder version...I believe that one was also rated at 450 hp...
  12. Well, as some of you may know, I recently bought the V1 radar detector...I couldn't be more happier...It is a very sensitive radar detector...picks up on the slightest frequencies...it can get annoying at times especially around gorcery stores, but it has a couple different setting to filter out the useless radar bands...It's a great unit and has paid for itself and then some...saved my ass quite a few times...The only thing with radar detectors is that they can't tell if "instant-on" or laser is in the area unless it is being used, so you have to hope that a cop is using it on someone else before he uses it on you...it's instantaneous so obviously the radar won't tell if it is on before it is used, but when it is, it picks it up really easily...You can also get Laser/radar jammers...they can be pricey, costing upwards of 1000 bux in some cases, but they work, and if you get a speeding ticket with one you can send it in and the company will usually pay for it (of course that doesn't take the points of your record)...But my V1 works very well...It better for how much I paid for it, but it's well worth it...The V1 and the passport escort 8500 are probably the 2 best detectors on the market...I like the V1 and find that it is very easy to use and works better, but I guess it all comes down to personal preference...but they do work...you get what you pay for...oh and about the pop...I'm still not sure what that even is, but the V1 has full time pop protection from the second you plug it in...other detectors you generally have to mess around with the settings and whatnot to get it to work...and from what I have read V1 has the best pop protection...but i dont even really know what pop is anyways...if you are reading reviews on detectors...try to stay away from reviews where they test all of the detectors in the same car at the same time...some detectors emit frequencies that can sometimes throw off other detectors and it's just not a very good, thorough test if they are all being tested in the same car all at once...Also take into consideration the color of your car...radar bounces off lighter colors such as white so it may be harder for the detector to get readings in some cars because of their color, and also sunlight affects it also...some cars the radar will do very poorly in due to tinting or coating on the windshield that comes stock from the manufacturer...There are lots of variables that affect radar detector performance, but for the most part as long as you invest in the right product, you wont be sorry... Oh, and about the ergonomics of the V1...I could never understand what the problem with it was...it is very easy to use and control...there is only 1 button basically which is the mute/volume knob (you hold it down to change logic modes) but other than that, it takes care of everything by itself...plug it in and you're ready to go...couldn't be any easier...
  13. Nah, the rule is still in place...no posting of the GMT-900's...not until we see them on a GM website or at an auto show or something of that sort...of course, spy pics are always welcome, just not the 3 shots of the tahoe and 'slade that were illegally taken...byw, you can go back and edit your previous post to fix the spelling mistake...

currently I am taking a business class which I am loving...It was great...the topic of multi billion dollar corporations came into play, and discussions of profits...We were discussin major auto corporations such as GM and talking about profit/debt/bankruptcy and the employee discount programs and such....they were talking about how much money it takes to make the car and how much they truly get out of them, and I just had to add in what I knew on the subject and GM's financial issues especially with the UAW etc...I have never really spoken in class before...this was probbaly one of the first times when I actually had/wanted to say something...All I've gotta say is this class is awesome and I'm so glad I'm in it...My teachers were pretty impressed with what I said anyways which makes me feel good...
  15. I know Alfa Romeo was planing on returning for a long time I believe..don't know what the story with that is...I also believe TVR may be coming to the US also...
  16. yea, it can get kind of annoying when searching for things containing certain numbers or whatever...if you put quotes around it though it will work... btw, just for fun, check out google moon http://moon.google.com/ and zoom in all the way
  17. I figured so....I can't really make out what is on top of it though...

oops...yea...sorry about that...I forgot all the controversy we had a long time ago about using the term "gay" back on the old boards...oh well...no but seriously, that's how I have been spelling it lately...I don't use it in reference to homosexuality really and I don't mean any offense by it....it's just an expression I use...ah well, whatever...anyways...
  19. hehe...Jewelry design by Steven Segal :D but what am I looking at exactly?
  20. Haha, yea, seriously...I got this guy, he happened to have the same exact car I was driving...we were just talkin the entire time...wasn't much of a test...I didn't get anything wrong...actually he asked me if it would be ok to mark me down atleast 1 point so it doesn't look so suspicious and that it actually looks like he tested me...but yea, I did a pretty good job...not that you can screw that test up very easily...

    Hahaha

You've gotta love kids these days...So here I am sitting up in my room...my room faces the front of our house...my window is wide open and my lights are on... I here these footsteps coming up towards my house...I think nothing of it and I dont bother looking outside...next thing you know I hear this banging on my door and these kids laughing and running away... From how I remember it, you are usually supposed to ring the doorbell but whatever...I just love how they did it...I mean, my lights on and you can clearly see me up in my room. I know who they are, they live only a couple houses down, I can hear them out there right now, sounds like they are having a get together or something... My mom freaks out and is like "what the hell was that?!" and you could here my dad cursing in the background...I was LMAO and shouted loudly "Don't worry, it was just some stupid f*ckin bitch ass kids a couple houses down" (mind you it was loud enough for them to here it, as I directed my voice right out the window)...I heard some gasps and a kid shout "Hey!"...I was seriously rolling on the florr...the entire situation was hilarious...I guess you had to be here :P
  22. oh, gotcha...yea, I talked it over with my parents, and if this car is as nice as it sounds, then they will do the co-sign for me...
  23. The biggest problem with Hummer drivers is they buy their H2's thinking they are the best offroad vehicles around and thinking they don't need to know how to rock climb because they are in a hummer...they don't know that their H2 is just a glorified Tahoe...But I would so buy a cherokee or CJ just to turn it into a water fordin', rock dodgin', chevy eatin' machine :P Jeeps are cool...I'd love to have one for screwin around in....too bad I don't live near any suitable areas to do that though...btw, gotta love the Canyon Arrow theme song

    Wot Car?

Cool...except for a couple of european ones, I pretty much got all of those on the first or second try...
  25. Good plan WMJ...I was actually gonna bring up that exact same thing to my parents, oh and Ocnblu, believe me, I ran the report...I was suprised, it only had 7 records and none of them were bad in any way, just regular maintenance and such...the car is perfect, and the guy even said I could bring it by my mechanic if I wnated to have it checked out and he'll have his mechanic check it out also...As we speak it is in the shop getting maintained, all the fluids changed, safety checks, detailed, everything...this guy seems like a good guy, I've talked with him quite a bit, seems pretty reputable...figured if he sells bentleys and RR's on the same lot then he'd have to be...but yea, I was very skeptical when I first saw it...this car normally lists for over 30 grand...but yea, WMJ, I will deffinitely do that. Thanks.
