  1. It's a tough choice what to do. I've always been able to get respectable power out of my 307's with minimal work, just making them breathe. It's hard to make a car this clean not factory anymore, and yes the 455 would require a great deal more work, beefing up the suspension and so on. If I do anything I suppose the 350 would be the cheapest and simplest way to go. I had a very impressive 350 in my last '87 and had a ball with it. We'll see, only time will tell.
  2. We've gotten a little over an inch of ice here. I had to slide downhill on my feet to my truck, then it took 3 people to get it out of the parking lot. Now its stuck in the street in front of the house. Bald 20's+no traction control+ice+pegleg rear axle=I'm screwed!! LOL I have to go to work today no matter what, should be fun.
  3. I switched to Royal Purple, one problem with it is, the dark purple color it starts out as makes it hard to tell its condition later.
  4. Well before its all over, I'll end up with the Olds. He'll get a 240 or something. I really want to build the 455. Just seems like the best choice if we're gonna go to all the trouble.
  5. Happy Birthday babies!! It's my fiances bday too!! My best friends was Friday, man January is expensive for me. LOL
  6. I always buy parts for a 350 when I get stuff for these, the only problem really is the ports on a 350 intake manifold don't match. It looks like we are gonna do away with the smog $h! and put the edel rochester mech quad on her with vacuum advance. The valve covers are leaking pretty bad so while we're there we might as well. We'll sacrifice gas mileage but the poor girl is suffocating under all that crap. So much can be had from this little 307 darling without a lot of work. Going to adjust the shift points too. Its driving me nuts how soon it shifts. Just going to do the minimum until the new engine is built, still arguing with the idiot ex about whether to build a 350 rocket or a 455. I have a guy who can get me either, never opened, never bored out. The kid isn't really ready for 455 horsepower but for the money, it makes more sense to build to a big block. What do you think?
  7. Adagio for Strings by Barber God its beautiful!!!!!
  8. I've been on a classical kick lately. I feel really stressed and I'm not sure exactly why, so I turn to classical for some relief. I prefer dark, brooding classical. I've been compiling a list on playlist, here's a link to what I have so far. Any suggestions? Playlist
  9. Yeah I'm still smoking too. 2 packs a day. I guess the not quitting cause the old man wouldn't was just an excuse, cause his ass is gone and i'm still smokin. LOL
  10. I BS all day with all of the above because I'm surrounded all day them. LOL
  11. Norton has always been a horrible resource hog and I still think some of their warnings and $h! are to make you think its doing something. I use the Avant browser and AVG antivirus, its great.
  12. Are you running through a router? Wireless or wired?
  13. If I could, I would go to every Autozone store and take that scanner and shove it up all their asses. I'm so sick of people who come in with one of their printoffs with a freaking EGR code for the love of god, and the people never believe me, they think I'm just trying to get in their pocket. Only Ford has EGR pressure sensors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. It's all about the union guys that put it together on the line baby, no thought whatsoever goes into the poor guy who has to fix it later. Sorry. LOL As far as the parts store, any aftermarket store you go into has nothing but no nothing 12 yr olds making $8 an hour at the counter. Of course I'm biased because I work at the dealer and I'm the parts bitch, but it really is frustrating even for me, when I call the wholesale line at O'Reillys and one of the kids answer, I just hang up and call back, or ask for one the guys over 25 who knows something. LOL
  15. We flush trannys too and don't change the filter, sometimes if your car is high mileage you can do more harm than good to change the fluid, that may be what happened in your case. Worn clutches needed the contaminated fluid because of the friction, or the fluid is low because they didn't put enough in. Maybe it does good cold because the fluid is so thick and when it thins out it starts slipping. It doesn't have a dipstick, there should be a plug on the case you stick your finger in to check fluid level. Its a stupid design. I wouldn't drop the pan and change the filter at this point, maybe put some kind of thick $h! in it like some lucas after you check the fluid level. But, you could be on your way to a rebuild. If you don't regularly change your fluid and filter and you get upwards of 100k or more, I wouldn't touch it.
  16. It is amazingly beautiful!! You guys know I'm all about REAL cars like this, but I have to say...I know you're frustrated with new cars and all the garbage going on right now but I sooooooo love my new Silverado. It's the best vehicle I've ever owned, I'm in love completely!!
  17. We are going to the coast of NC in June for vacation. Any suggestions of where to stay, what part of the coast and what to do there? It's my first time and I've always wanted to visit there. We're going to fly into Raleigh.
