I take plenty of brazen risks on used/classic/beater cars BUT with eBay you're almost always guaranteed to be paying too much, and or the car is not presented honestly. I get some kickass deals on old school cars but for every great deal you guys hear about, by the time I drag it home I have usually looked at three or four other cars that are complete $h!boxes or dishonestly advertised. Seems like often times "can be daily driver" does not mean that the car needs an oil change & a couple tires... instead the dumbass trying to take your hard earned money will explain once you get there to his house that the car needs a brake line (rotted out recently ...in the fall of 2006) & there "MIGHT" be a little bit of an oil leak in the rear main seal, OH and there's a melted spark plug wire. Oh & the car has not been driven since 2004, but it was started back in 2007, he let it run for a half hour & then after it over heated I did mention that before... right?

Wow.... alls well that ends (mostly) well. Thieves usually are dumb mo%&$f@*ers!

YES. Agreed. I wish we could leave FWD to just Chevy but if Buick & Chevrolet had a 1/2 & 1/2 mix of FWD/RWD then we can certainly give Cadillac & Pontiac 100% RWD product with the option of AWD on select models. Truth be told I wish GM would set a precident and stop using FWD on ANYTHING other than sub-compact cars.

The Suburban is tacky and hideous in an awesome way, As far as the MB, it;s WAY better looking than the Hon-DUH Ridgeline but that's not saying much. I say keep the Brabus tunning and the "bed" but with original MB styling. My mind went there too...

Testimony: Some in polygamist sect may have had kids at 13
Sixty8panther replied to jessi_chan's topic in The Lounge
I'm with you on that but as others have said polygamy is not the real issue here. Child abuse & irresponsible breeding habits are. The thought of some nasty, preverted old man having sex with pre-pubecent girls is gross and WRONG. Maybe in the middle ages they let this kind of $h! slide but we know better today, people's life expectancy is not 35, there is NO reason why anyone needs to have kids at 12. -
Yup, been down that road too but then you have NO protection from eBay or otherwise. I like Craigslist these days.

Last six songs (shuffle mode on MY faves) Pink Floyd "One of these days" ICP: "Great Melinko" Johnny Cash "Sixteen Tons" Pink Floyd "Money" Jewel "Time After Time" (cover) Nirvana "Heart-Shaped Box"

How sad. Jeep AND GMC pushing what are essentially evolutions of THESE: What a SAD day, anyway you slice it. Damn CAFE standards suck! I mean what is next a HUMMER H-0.05 based on the Aveo!?!?

So there's like a 66.6% chance that any minute now I will get a TXT from XP along the lines: "what are you doing this weekend, and do you think we can borrow Seans car trailer... also will Sean's car trailer accomodate a 5000lbs. car that is 19 feet long?" TIGHT WHIP$ Roadtrip time again!!!

Well either way B59 > F-body-69 BUt that having been said I'm still a BIG 1st gen. F-body fanatic. A+ parts availability & great fuel economy would be the reason I would consider that kind of "trade down." I know you can negotiate off ebay but that can get you banned, my ebay rating is in the 500s and it's 100% positive! When I sold my '68 Camaro on ebay I refused to deal off ebay, many others are the same way.

Moltar: The Razorback is the Bustleback's much more attractive, older cousin. '67-'70 Cadillac (Fleetwood) Eldorado (first gen. E-body Cadillac)

Great find YJ! That's very tempting. But chances are reserve is about $10,000. On a related note I've given some serious thought to selling the B-59 and buying a '69 Camaro, inline-six with four on the floor. If such a car was affordable and readily available. The 69 Camaro was my dream car throughout ALL my childhood and only in recent years replaced by pre-war V16s and the B-59. FIRST before attempting to do anything too involved I need to find/rent a cheap garage.

Looks way better than that botched abortion of a raccoon looking thing they're selling these dys!

Please do. That's a delicious pair. The dry heat of Arizona is so much less bothersome than the heat & humidity here in the summer.

Chris: I wish I could afford a '70 Chevelle rolling chassis to make a great daily driver. I'd slap a SBC 327 in that bad larry, M22 trans. & a '71 rear bumper/tail lights & last but not least a gear-vendors rear end for 8-speeds. Ta-da!!! Good fuel economy meets bad ass bitchin set of wheels!

That means I'm a THREE trick pony MOTHERF&%KER! Learn to count before throwing stones, lest you might sink a sh-sh-sh-sh-ship! ----- Back to the topic at hand... I thought Id post this just for old times sake:

Hmmm.... cool. There's an E225 ragtop down in AZ that will grace my driveway should I ever win the lottery and also, my buddy Duffy lives down there too. It's always fun to visit him, wanted to last year but $/time are not making it happen any time soon.

So the wife has narrowed her choices down...

Maybe I'm wrong... (swear to god I HOPE I AM) but my theory is that in 6, 8, 10 years we'll be talking about how Ford never changes as the aging T500urus & Sab-montego-re, McZephyr, Edge, Milan, Focus etc. are blowing head gaskets, interiors are falling apart, ignitions/wiring harnesses are catching on fire, computers are failing & NVH is way more than it needs to be on even cars wit low miles. I hope you guys are right & Ford DOES, for once in its 100+ year history, make quality Job No.1 instead of just a joke of a marketing campaign. Yes, I HAVE driven a Ford lately and they still seem lacking to me. Ford what its worth the Lincoln Town Car is helping me to consider a modern car again. Its a fantastic car for the $ an average one goes for used, even though I still hate those damn mod-4.6s. Also my experiences with the 2005-up F150 have convinced me Ford is trying to build a good truck again. -
I want to play "Name the Hair Metal albums in CptBooyah's sig"

hahaha I was at a local Salvation Army the other day trying to score some 8-tracks I could play in the Banana and I saw that album on cassette tape. Never head of em but the name was too cool to forget. -
I'm trying to be a contestant on Pickup Artist season 2

Holy cow I remember you! You still own both of your 4th gens? We used to get into some battle royales over the direction the (then only make-pretend) 5th gen's styling should go. I hope there's no hard feelings but.... I told you so. In the end, GM agreed and 1st gen. retro it is. For what it's worth your design (I see it sprouted up on your new sig.) has aged well. -
I saw a black one at speed the other day, as it rounded a corner and the big muscular spokes of the front rim chopped the air like the propeller of a Bf109 I couldn't help but drool & stare!

Spied: First Chevy Volt mules caught testing
Sixty8panther replied to Blake Noble's topic in Chevrolet
Cool. In related news I had to put a semi-polite verbal smackdown on a client today. Smalltalk got to GM & how {his words} the American car industry is stagnant, their financial woes are due to being stuborn and refusing to be innovative like imports... About 15 minutes later when I dropped him off as Logan Airport we had discussed the Volt, EV1 & Corvair. He walked away a smarter, better informed individual. Gave me a good tip too! -

Truth be told I'm only back in this thread to stare at it some more. riiiiight-click. Someday I want a (ca) Mercury pickup parked next to a Plymouth pickup in the small non-GM section of the Tight Whips museum.
