  1. Holy cow. That's V-16 Cadillac style-COOL!!!
  2. Olds Turbo-BOP-215 V8 is one of those holy grails I'd love to have! (I'd drop it in a '59 Buick or mabe a '30s Chevy hot rod) How about the198 cu. in. fireball V6 that my '62 Buick had...
  3. Not a 3800 but its great-great grandfather. iron block 198 cubic inch (3.2 liter) Fireball V6 (based on the aluminum 215 V8)
  4. I have definitely seen at least one '69 Firebird ragtop with the ram air scoops I do not know if it was optioned that way from the factory. Wish I knew if/where I might have a photo of it. It was black/black.
  5. Cool thread idea. Here's my list: 1: Repair B-59 (just ordered up a boatload of parts at NAPA last night) 2: Carb. rebuild for Banana Boat 3: Sell B-59 once H2O pump/head-gasket/carb. rebuild/wiring harness/sway bar/misc. repairs are done 4: Take 80% of the money from the B-59 and buy either a solid B-59 hardtop (Invicta or E225) OR 4.01: Buy pre-war car... '38 Buick, '33 Chevrolet, '36 Pontiac, '37 Plymouth or '34 Buick 5. Buy a Mercedes Benz 300CE hardtop
  6. Never in a million years could I bring myself to trade a REAL Man's truck like your kickass GMC for a Corolla hatchback with a Firefly grille Just my opinion 'Blu
  7. I beleive it.... crazy.
  8. Good luck with your next search for a needle in the automotive haystack... As I mentioned in my txt messages, I do not have any info for you on these super-rare beasts. I can honestly say I've never seen one to the best of my recollection, or it's been at least a few years, a truck like this stands out! If you can, get the GMC for the extra, EXTRA extra rarity.
  9. I've never heard of this Mayra Veronica but she's hoooooooooooooot. Like a Mack truck with no brakes!!! (that's how I'd hit that)
  10. It's not too bad stylistically and I even like the tail lights, they're bold & different. That being said I can sculpt cow s#it to look like the Venus deMilo but that don't mean anyone will want to place it on their mantle.
  11. My '68 Camaro wore the "PANTHR" vanities for 4 years but After I sold it I decided to foroe vanities on my replacement toy ('64 Super 88 Holiday) for two reasons: 1. Massachusetts has a lot of STUPID arbitrary rules for vanities (no intermixing of letters & numbers and it has to start with a letter... also 6 characters max....) 2. It costs FOUR times as much to register/re-register vanities versus regular plates!
  12. Pretty much anything old school in the pre-1979 sense is a welcome sight.... Obviously the stuff I enjoy the most is REAR-wheel-drive, Body-On-Frame, American designed/built/sized GM HARDTOPS, although today I was very pleased to see a 1970 Oldsmobile two door Cutlass in pea soup green with the 442 hood & white stripes, even if it was a 2-door SEDAN & not a hardtop, as well as a very elegant custom '87 Buick Regal T-type that I last saw in the same neighborhood in 1996 as a Senior in high school. ...even the occasional BMW 2002 or air-cooled VW.
  13. That sir is a gross insult to 1920s cars!!!! I can think of plenty of 1920s cars I'd love to own, but if I ever won one of these in a radio promotion i'd do an insurance job on it on the ride home or fear of the embarasement of parking it in my driveway.
  14. When I was a kid (like 12 years old... so in other words in like 1991) I read an interesting article in an old magazine (even at that age I collected old crap) from the late 1970s or possibly early 1980s that described in detail how we are heading into another ice-age. Simply because of this one article whenever some ignorant fool goes on a tirade about global warming I just retort "last I heard we're headed for an ice age..." because if nothng else it calms my nerves while spiking their blood pressure. I hope Al Gore lives long enough to see snow in Phoenix.
  15. My favorite 3 eras of the automobile are 1. 1931 2. 1959 3. 1969 - in that order That being considered I'd love to travel back to about 1957 when the recession hit and the economy was crappy. Cars were gorgeous and the tailfin was king.... but also, in 1957 you'd have a pretty easy time buying a ('31) V16 Cadillac dual cowl phaeton or some other such gorgeous OHV-V16 Cadillac bodystyle for cheap $$$. Even a middle of the road Duesenberg was affordable and even the most gorgeous Cord, Auburn, Packard, Hudson or some other pre-war (coachbuilt) wet-dream was just a fancy used car. Now as far as muscle cars, 1950s rocketships & 1960s Cadillacs/Imperials/Buicks/Pontiacs/Oldsmobiles/Lincolns the obvious choice would be 1974 durring the peak of the fuel "shortage". (this OPEC BULL$HIT is nothing new) More than one reputable source has told me that a cars like 1969 Camaro ZL1s, 1973 Firebird SD455s, 1970 Buick GSXs & 1971 B'Cuda 426 Hemi convertibles were deemed just about useless on the open car market, what being such gas pigs and all they were worth about 101% of scrap value. Right?!
  16. Gorgeous! A+ While I would (of course) much more prefer a [pillarless] HARDTOP over a more euro-esque targa I will admit that this car has some killer looks for a sports car with a B-pillar. The targa bodystyle is a good way to get sales from the "want more than a sunroof but not a ragtop & it has to be affordable..." crowd, which is like 80% of the potential customer base.
  17. Damn that is a sexy fascia!!!
  18. My '84 Maxi used to leak too... mostly P.S. fluid, but at least it was RWD. This thing looks like it was beaten with an ugly stick after it fell out off the ugly tree & got run over by the ugly wagon.
  19. Yeah, you know those emails you get about the millionaire from Africa who needs to have you cash his $4,000,000 check for him and you can keep $70,000 for your services...? This website is prob. by those same people.
  20. HAHAHAHAhahahhah! My check is in the mail. http://water4gas.com/2books.htm?hop=hbono
  21. Exactly. And now maybe you understand a little better why I got out of the car business....? Rememver my rants about ignorant customers who think the salesman who is trying to help is the a$$hole while they eat of of the Praynig Manthis' hand, get screwed hardcore and then come back to YOU in the end hoping you can help? Yeah, all set. thins kind of thing happens ALL the time here in Mass. Even though I know 85% of the tricks and I know better than to ever get screwed on a payment/loan, I avoid making payments on a car like the plague. The only car I've ever financed was my 5-year old used 1997 Cadillac STS, which I only bouhgt cause it was my Ex's DREAM car. She was in love with it as much as I was in love with the '68 Camaro that I had at the time for a summer-daily.
  22. What part of my post was speculation??? Please do tell.
  23. OB: I'm loving your HHR-pickup idea!!!
  24. This is why I will never be happy to see the Hummer H2 go.... before I would ever be okay with saying "screw the H2" I'd first have to see a complete discontinuation of the Tundra, Sequoia & Land Cruiser.* * along with their Lexus rebadge twins.
  25. Pontiac, compete with Jeep???? NO thanks. WTF would the point of that be? Why don't we have Mercury start building diesel Pickups and Chrysler start making Buses? Maybe GMC can get a Y-body convertible....?
