Lutz reveals B Pillar on the Camaro
True to concept means just that, I'm not expecting the entire engine bay to be either stainless steel or chrome but 40% of the coolness of the Camaro for me was the hardtop greenhouse. After having owned a 1968 Camaro I could never see myself buying a Camaro with glued in glass... maybe I'll lower my standards in the future but as far as I'm concerned they might as well pussy out on the whole thing and keep it a concept, they've already done that with the SIXTEEN. Funny how, ten years after GM gave up on hardtops the Japanese were still making a bunch, a few Toyotas & Nissan/Datsuns were sold here in the USA in the 1980s... Even Mazda had a few nice hardtops... all with thin-as ricepaper sheetmetal and no effort of reinforcement of the greenhouse and or floor. Now in 2007 you;re going to tell me its not possible? Bull$h!. uhhh... no. The 1st gen. Camaro, as well as the concept had an attractive greenhouse AND roll down rear windows with room to spare.

Lutz reveals B Pillar on the Camaro
I feel sick to my stomach... seriously. I'm disgusted with GM. Ever heard of side curtain aribags? Even a $15,000 Suzuki has them! They (GM) are going to design a drop down rear window & stiffer floor for the convertible but they have to pussy out for the Camaro. This makes me completely disillusioned, I guess GM just can't roll up their sleeves and create enginering solutions like they used to. f@#k it, guess there's a used CLK500 in my future & I'll never buy a new car. There's still plenty of nice 1969 Camaros, expensive as they are and those have no pillar in any configuraton.

Spied: '10 Buick LaCrosse
Not bad for a Skylark replacement. It does look appear to have a good stance, love the new nose theme and I hope it has venit-ports.

Can I have that 45 seconds back... you know, the time I spent reading about this complete B.S. (good post though Dragon)

GM Engineer Crashes G8
I'd love to be that guy.... think of the bragging rights and stories you'd have to tell. Every year @ the demolition derby I try to roll a car but it has not happened yet.

Fly's LeSabre
If I win the lottery, I mean like aa 300 million powerball, I'll buy FlyBrain a mint final 500 Aurora & install a carriage top on it with a staple gun!

Fly's LeSabre
PLenty more photos from old thread... My personal favorite: Hardtops are SO addictive, nothing like the lack of a B-pillar to make you feel one with the road.

Hail
Hmmmm... I'd love to pick up a new CTS4 with hail damage, for like $25K. The biggest hail I've ever seen was about pea-sized, way too small to put dents in my D-body Cadillac's super-thick sheetmetal.

Fly's LeSabre
I personally loved the fact that the passanger fender was off an Electra.

Fly's LeSabre
Just about six months ago I fell in love with a tripple Brown Buick. It was a 455 powered BiCentenial LeSabre four door hardtop. The car was on craigslist for $1300 O.B.O. Today while looking through my 47 gigs of car photos I found the photographs the kid posted on craig's of the LeSabre. I thought since the car is now Fly's I'd post them for his & your viewing pleasure. After I got the car I painted (rustoleum rattle can) the lower 1/4s that were primered, put hubcaps on it & installed the stainless steel trim that had at one point been held on by drywall screws... I used non-corrosive ones and followed suit. And here's the after: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...ic=17490&hl=

Not my first 1986 Cadillac
Far from it.... if I bought $h!boxes that needed tons of work, then yes... it would cost me but I practically MAKE money at buying and selling cars. I'll give you a few examples: Maxima Zwei (bought Feb. 2007, sold April 2007) I bought my Datsun Maxima twin (the one with the sunroof) for the large sum of $322.00 actual milage: 97,000 One easy payment of $322.00 after putting a $40 battery in it I did not touch a thing. The car was in excellent shape, no cosmetic/drivability/safety isssues. A few months later after spending about $400 on it TOTAL (purchase price, oil change, battery, headlight) I sold the car for $1,000.00 One THOUSAND dollars. Nice $600.00 profit! Banana Boat (bought May 2007, sold June 2007) After I sold the Maxima I pocketed $300 and took the other $700 to Milford, NH and bought a fantastically solid and beautiful 1977 Cadillac Coupe deVille. Actual milage: 72,000 I told myself if I ever sold it I'd ask AT LEAST $2000 and would take not a penny less than $1500. Keep in mind this is after I spent $700 on the car and $15 on a new radiator hose. That's it. Not a penny more. But then XP715 fell in love with it and kept asking to buy it... not wanting to be a jerk I sold it to him for only a $200 gross profit, he's done me a million favors & helped me out when I needed it so I was happy to pass the car along to him knowing he'd take good care of her. So I took my $900, spent a couple hundred and then dragged home a particular 1976 Buick LeSabre 4-door hardtop with 455 power that I later sold to our very own FlyBrain. Granted I spent about $60 on serpentine belts, maintenance items & fluids but I certainly would have asked more for the car had it not been a good frined like Fly. ---- Now as far as the old '94 RoadSmasher Estate, I bought it for $412 and sold it for $400 exactly after having spent $7 at the junkyard for a new driver's door switch panel. So I drove the car around for two months and lost exactly $19. (and burned off about $200 in gas and $10 in trans fluid.) Need I go on? (BTW, my wife, XP715 & his girlfriend, SP & his girlfreind can confirm all of this)

Front license plates
I voted NO cause I freekin' hate them. No one ever backed away from the sceene of a crime all the way home! But here;s the 3 reasons why they (big brother) want them. 1. Red light cameras 2. In a hit & run the imprint of the plate often stays on the other car (witnessed this myself) 3. Nice, flat reflective surface to bounce Radar waves off of Mass requires front plates but not on my Y.O.M. plate that I have on my B-59...

Schwarzenegger may have pushed for General Motors to get lucrative state contract
Cool... this guy needs to be our next President. I keep saying it!!! You don;t put out multiple bids on a product that only one company offers. What was he supposed to have GMC bid against Chevrolet?

Still think there is no such thing as Global Warming?
Funny you guys say that... I've been keeping mental track recently and ther top three cars that spew disgusting blue and gray smoke out of the exhaust are: 1. 1990s Hondas 2. 1980s/1990s Mopar Minivans 3. Old Korean $h!piles...

1st day at new job
Satty: Ignorance is thinking 3rd Gen. Camaro = Mullett-sporting white trash 100% of the time. Let's talk about another word: hypocracy. Like trolling a GM forum & driving a Camry "Business Coupe". ---- Thanks Stace. Seems you 'get it' more than a few others here. Some of my best friends come from the dealership game. I can rattle off about a dozen or so good friends who were/are car salesman, but more often than not car salesman in my area are arogant, self serving, egotistical assholes who will do despicable things to get a sale and WORSE. (like sleep with a customer & then call her a fat bitch the next day) I'm disgusted by my recent experience, this is the only time I have left a dealership job on bad terms. ---- K.F. The last real Chevy Nova was made in the 1970s... although I did once buy a "Chevy Corolla" on eBay for $27.00 plus $75.00 title/paperwork fee... I drove up to Agusta Maine with my S10 Blazer and a car dolly and brought it down to Mass so I could wreck it at the demolition derby. Then I had a yardsale and some crazy lady talked me into selling it to her: for $400! That swank hoopty was a sedan 5-speed, blue/blue.

Cadillac #7
Uh... those photos both suck but it's all I got, we never saw the car in the day. Next time we hang out I'll snap some more.

What type or types of vehicle(s) do you buy new?
If I ever own one new vehicle it will be a new Camaro. - Rear wheel drive - hardtop (pillarless fixed roof) - manual trans. (three pedals on the floor) - affordable V8 - classic styling that does not use retro as a crutch - "functional" baack seat So in other words ANY 2dr hardtop Zeta just might be worth buying IMHO. Hey GM, how about a GTO or a Riviera?

Still think there is no such thing as Global Warming?
Yeah... it's absurd. You pointed it out to me. Sad, really. It looks like it WAS a nice chunk of woods/meadow before that development and the absurd house.
