  1. T1G#T WH!P$ TROPHY TRIVIA In the next few weeks I'm going to post 59 different trivia questions of all different forms on C&G. Multiple choice, photo identification, photo match up & even some true or false. Some questions will be multiple part and others a simple one word answer. At the end of the 59 individual trivia thread questions all the winners will be added up and a trophy will be mailed via the USPS to the over all winner of the first annual Tight Whips Trivia Trophy. Best of luck to all, I encourage everyone to participate. ...................................................... Thread #50 So once again I'm thinking about adding another vehicle to my ever-chaning fleet of weird & rare cars & trucks. Since I sold the 1979 Chevrolet fleetside with a 250 I6 this past Sept. I've been thinkning about picking up another truck, I have a lead on a 1977 Datsun with a 4-speed thanks to XP as previously mentioned... but I also have a very cool car in my sights let's see who can correctly identify it according to these hints. ~ Four door sedan ~ Neither unibody or BOF by the technical definition ~ Powered by an inline six ~ Hofmeister-Knick ~ RWD obviously ~ Manual Transmission, reverse is top far left in the H ~ Manual steering & brakes ~ Front blinkers stamped with manufacturer's logo ~ Round Sealed Beam Headlights
  2. Overtly racist, humorous but yet non-offensive threads like this are such a hillariously enjoyable part of C&G. Hip-Hop types already have a lot of respect for Buick.... 1950s and 1960s ones anyway. IIRC Queen Latifah had a '70 Skylark on one of those overhaulin/pimp-my-ride shows. And I KNOW I've seen a few Buick Lowriders in music videos & magazines. That KRISS-KROSS chop is hillarious!!! How ironic that about a week ago I discussed that "JUMP" song with XP & SP and they agreed with me that it should be an 100% official Tight Whips approved song. Remember that 1959 Chevy that had the body mounted backwards on the frame was was driven across the Golden Gate for a photoshoot with Motor Trend? (?) That's the car they should have since they wear their clothes backwards.
  3. The 24th of October 2006 was an official T!GH+ W#1P$ holiday!!! 1971 -to- 1981 A decade of progress & innovation at General Motors.
  4. Production sneak peek at the Cadillac SIXTEEN (V16) It HAS to be a four door hardtop, and all the individual details must remain intact, even the butterfly hood. Cost is not a problem, even if it is half a million dollar$ it will be less than half of the only other sixteen cylinder car on the market. Also, for a great deal less, like say $100,000 a V12 powered "Eldorado Brougham" or "Fleetwood Biarritz" that would be a kind of a modern day '57/'58 Eldorado Erougham. Basically it would be a way of saying F**K YOU, YOU SUCK! to all the over priced POS exotic sedans like RR & Bentley!
  5. Oh you're good! ...then again you do LIVE in Canada. I'll have a new question tonight.

Thread #48 Three cars, one common name. One had "retro" fenders remeniscent of cars from the early 1930s. Another had floating hubcaps with brake cooling ducts. The last was a mid engined car powered by a 3.8 liter DOHC V6. Name the cars, MYs & give some basic info. about each.
  9. Grandma & Grandpa may be old but that does not make them stupid, you live for 70 or so years you might want a cushy & super soft ride too. Like I've said a MILLION times on this forum, if the BOF B-body had kept evolving past 1996 & if it was around today & incorporated modern safety, technology and hydroforming it would be by far the best chassis for a full size car in the world, bar none. The Crown Vic. has barelly evolved past where it was in 1996 and even then the Caprice was a far superior product. Still, I would take a 2007 Crown Vic. over ANY 2007 car with FWD.
  10. I'll hook it up tomorrow if no one else beats me to it.
  11. Leave the Crown Vic alone... it's getting a redesign and us BOF car lovers are glad to ahve something stil on the market that has a "spine" instead of justv an exoskelleton. Yes, the Yaris, Fit and several other economy cars were left out but except for that and the Hummer H2 I agree with the author here... the M/C is a wrong wheel drive joke, but then ot ME 90% of todays cars have the motor mounted incorrectly and the trans is sending power to the inccorect wheels. Front wheels are for steering not pulling.

Thread #47 I'm thinking of a car that was pretty revolutionary in its day. Although it was powered by a 7 litre V8 with a very unique transmission the plan was originally to have a V12 under the hood. In terms of horsepower & weight it is very similar to the 2006 BMW 750i but overall length is 221 inches.
  13. Is that the most current photo? I know as of the late 1990s they've been saying the ship will be history in the near future. The rear section of the ship did not last long, I guess it's still there in the water but roled over onto it's side and sunken into the sand. The photos of the American Star fascinate me to no end. 14. There was no Corsair model in the 1960 Edsel lineup? I know they still had a Ranger & the wagon was a Villiager, did the Pacer, Citation & Corsair names dissapear in 1960? http://storm.tocmp.com/edsel1960.htm
  15. Yes. Excellent synopsis. A very depressing story of the destruction of a historic American ship.

  17. As a child of the '80s I honestly can not think of a deeper song than Silent Lucidity... although I'm sure a few songs from the Beatles will come to mind in a minute.

I was powered by an 18 cylinder "WASP" motor that produced 2450HP At sea level my top speed was almost double that of a McLaren F1s My tall suspension & bent wing design was a result of my 13'2" propeller When full my gas tank would consume 534 gal. Six .50 caliber machine guns made easy work of Mitsubishi Zeros I could carry bomb loads of more than the GVWR of an big 1950s car
  19. Wow... there is so much more to this story than just a wrecked Super-Fiat on the PCH. I'd wreck all the Enzos ever made, and all the F50s and F40s just to bring back one 1931 Cadillac V16 Dual Cowl Phaeton or a 30s Marmon V16, or even the Norseman cocept car...
  20. Correct Balthazar! And as such it predated the Y-job According to some it was GM's very first "showcar" though it was not a concept car in the sense the Y-job & LaSabre were.
  21. Too much effort, too little reward. EFI is over rated. That's just my honest opinion.
  22. I've only been on C&G for two years but I do still consider this site to be my home on the internet. Lately my new job & crazy personal/Tight Whips cars club schedule have kept me away for the most part but I still love C&G more than any other forum.

  24. Very cool.
  25. Hey XP... where can I get my very own Anal Dwelling Leprechaun? Seriously, I had to pay $70 for a rotted out old '87 Mercury Topaz for the demolition derby & you score a FREE 1974 Lincoln. And it's a factory stretch limousine none the less. I'd love to get in on that kind of good luck. Maybe you can find me a '59 Buick Electra 225 Riviera for like $250 in your travels... ahhh f*ck it, let's shoot for the stars, any 1931 Cadillac V16 Dual Cowl Phaetons out there for less than $3000 in mint condition?
