Yes.... I know. I'd give a kidney to attend someday. Any 1959 Buicks? V-16 Cadillacs?

What if the entire universe as we know it, the Milky Way, the empty depths of space & all the elements that consist thereof are nothing but a microscopic bubble in the depths of an ocean greater than the most sophisticated and ingenious mind can ever comprehend? For all we know we're like the ants who were running around in the grass above the beaches of Normandy in 1944 completely unaware that there was a huge $h!tstorm about to go down right outside our little patch of grass that we call our UNIVERSE. What if right now as you read this the cure for cancer is being synthesized or perhaps a nuclear bomb is being prepared by a rogue country that will someday end your life... or mine? What if today is all we have? Or better yet, what if by living your life like each day was your last it actually gave you a serenity that the false "security" of living a reserved and conservative lifestyle never could?

Who effin cares abotu GMI. I come to C&G because I have some real friends here... the car experience is what unites us but this forum is so much more that that. This is my home on the internet and that's not changing anytime soon.

Hapiness is driving a 1964 Oldsmobile down Rt.4 in Lexington Mass in early October with the fall colors whizzing by... A big, proud, sharp-dressed boat of a car in a sea of Toyotas & Hondas. Cheap cigar in one hand & a thin sky blue steering wheel in the other. All four windows down for that panoramic window look and Gordon Lightfoot coming in crystal clear over a 42 year old AM radio set to "MUSIC" mode. Certain aspects of my life are a cluster-f%$k right now but at least Marcia and I are in love again and the job is going well. How's everyone else?

Correct! You beat Detroit Nut by three hours but you're both correct. Now if the guy was a little more relistic on price I'd go check it out but $2000 obo for a rotted out beater pickup of any make with 148K miles & massive bondo patches is way too much IMO.

T1GHT WH!P$ TROPHY TRIVIA In the next few weeks I'm going to post 59 different trivia questions of all different forms on C&G. Multiple choice, photo identification, photo match up & even some true or false. Some questions will be multiple part and others a simple one word answer. At the end of the 59 individual trivia thread questions all the winners will be added up and a trophy will be mailed via the USPS to the over all winner of the first annual Tight Whips Trivia Trophy. Best of luck to all, I encourage everyone to participate. ...................................................... Thread #43 XP715 Just called me a few minutes ago... he told me about a vehicle that he saw for sale since it was right up my alley. It's two door and painted canary yellow and of course RWD. Now let's see if you can get the M.Y., make & model based on the following clues: 1. Same model year as Ross's second oldest car 2. It's a four cylinder 3. Quad headlights of the same style as my '64 4. I already own an emblem off one of these vehicles* 5. 4-speed manual 6. I already own a car from this manufacturer 7. It's got 4 wheel drum brakes 8. Tail lights resemble a certain Mercedes SUV & Malibu wagons'. ------------------------------- * It was prominenetly displayed in my signature for a while

Yes indeed.... sorry I've been absent as of late. Work is all consuming. Question #43 will be posted ASAP.

SpeedingPenguin & I were driving along in his 'Bu the other day and noticed an old '50s MG... just as we were commenting on how goofy the two dweebs driving it looked we drove past SKIP'S DINER. You've all seen photos of it in my previous Sigs. Well guess what was out front in the parking lot? A 1968(?) Toyota 2000GT. I know it's a Toyota but it was like seeing lighting strike, and as luck would have it I DID NOT HAVE MY CAMERA! O'Shea took some pics with his super cool phone, or as I like to call it the "James Bond Ice Cream Sandwich". Maybe he'll post them soon. I hit up about 30 car shows this summer, saw all manner of great cars from the Brass era to brand new stuff but this 2000GT was one of the cooest ones of this summer. I have about a couple thousand photos of gorgeous cars from this past year but this Toyota came out of left field. It had Maine plates BTW... how many of these cars are there in the country? This one is driven quite often from the looks of it. IIRC there's only like 3000 of these cars in the world, no?

This starte an urban legend. When I was selling Chevrolets I heard a few times from part-time car fans that ALL black Corvettes from the '90s on have paint that is formulated to be inpervious to radar right from the factory...

Agreed, it's a very interesting observation. I too was surprised. This is such a win/win scenario. I've said this before... Zetas will be the turning point for GM. The Zetas will fix years of very bad decisions and poor judgement on GM's part. They have the potential to fix the gap left by yhe '87 G-body and the '96 B-body and even to a smaller degree the crater left in GM's lineup left by the premature death of Oldsmobile. Once the new Camaro, CTS-coupe, GTO &/or Firebird hit the showrooms we'll really be in business... litteraly!!!

Thread #42 In 1953 GM produced 532 examples of this car. The next year production numbers more than quadrupled at 2150. Name the manufacturer & model.

Long live the inline-6 powered performance sedan!!! SAy what you will about BWM but at least they still give us a silky smooth Straight Six versus everyone's V6s. Just like all the otehr compromises of the past few decades V6 bug me. Inline Sixes are where it's at... which is why I love my 2.4L Maxima so much.

For the last time.... YES absolutely. Zeta will be a silver bullet for GM in terms of bringing back the AMERICAN CAR. It's actually a three prong attack: 1. RWD performance sedans 2. FULL size sedans 3. Police/Taxi fleet sales

More impressive than the McLaren F1... Cooler than the Bugatti Veyron... Makes a garagefull of Ferraris look like a Wal*mart parking lot. Just 'effin build it!!!
-
Thread over!
-
I'm speechless! Please post some photos of these cars.

cool.... great car, now just turn the motor 90* counter clockwise and install a 12 bolt in the rear and you'll have the perfect ride!

Blame the Japanese for Front wheel drive

Biggest misconception of all 'effin time. Absolutely 100% WRONG! BTW: how many RWD cars have you owned? -
Awsome.... GN, '70 TA and the Camaro concept.... COOL!
-
That's the one. A brass era race car with 100 horsepower. ...and it only needed 11 liters of four banger to get that power.

AWSOME!!! Fly: Why is it unrealistic?
