  1. But who really won all those WRCs in the 1980s & 1990s? The Ford Escort or the Cosworth RS2000???? Who cares. I've been saying since I was knee-high to a grasshoper that Chevrolet as a brand needs to get established in the European & world stage. Growing up as a kid in Europe in the 80s the only USA brand that is a hoesehold name is Ford, only because of their racing history there. This is great news.
  2. I love our 1997 Infiniti Q45, it's a great car with very few flaws but when I read this review I was a little confused. It sounds morem like a factory issued press release than a review. This guy has nothing but good things to say abotu the Q45. It's all peaches & cream. I mean I can find about half a dozen considerable flaws and/or complaints about our car. A few related to ergonomics, a few other inferior features as compared to the 1997 STS. Like for one: the Northstar is SO much more motor than the 4.1 short-stroke Q motor. Anyway see what you think: http://www.cartrackers.com/am/showarticle.php?id=6841
  3. Check out this custom one-off. 1929 Ford with an early 90s 1st gen. Q45 motor transplant. It predated the Lexus hot rod by a few years but I never heard of it until just now when I found it on some random Infiniti forum. Later on as shown here it was obviouslt deemed cool enough by the powers that be at Nissan & Infiniti to dipslay at the show next to a 2nd gen. Q45 in the 97-01 era. Actaully that looks like a 99-01 Touring edition in the back ground.
  4. Good guess ted but the chrome trim on the rear window seems too squared off in comparisson to the puzzles. I'm going to guess Checker Marathon.
  5. Actually it said "F I E S T A" as in Oldsmobile. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/oldsfan/MySite/woodworth.html
  6. It's YOUR puzzle?! I'm going ot guess a Mopar of some sort....
  7. Cool, good to see it back to normal. New doors or just new door skins?
  8. You know since there's a '37 Super-8 is sitting in your dad's garage.
  9. XP: Me in the Datsun armed with my NIKON... you in the Cutty with your digi & SP in his car (1981 Malibu perhaps) with a digi. SP and me decided last night on IM that we'll have fellow C&Gers assign point values. That way you will not talk us into giving 1000 points for a 1937 Packard.
  10. Which one of your personalities is Josh obsessed with? Josh: I agree, please stick around.
  11. Three more monochromatic colors. Way to go Caddy. I wonder if the 2007 camry comes in three shades of gray?
  12. Wow... holy thick B-pillar GM1. BV: Just grow some balls, pull the damn trigger already and buy a Fiero. Sure your parents will be mad for a while but at least you'll be happy.
  13. Wonder what the 2036 Car & Driver "Diesel Beater Scavenger Hunt" will look like? Saddly, you can bet almost anything there will not be a Oldsmobile or a RWD Maxima w/ an inline-6, oil burning or not.
  14. Some cool SVX stuff: http://www.svx-club.de/Stories/Design-Entw...es_subaru_.html
  15. Agreed... too bad they're auto only. My buddy Alex almost bought one back in the late 90s.... I was telling him to do it but he went wiht a used Blazer instead. XP: Speaking of the XT Coupe remember how the chick in BIG (Tom Hanks) drives one?
  16. Did you double up on tags or try to upload using them?
  17. Camaro4me
  18. All my cars have been "shes" even my first Fleetwood Brougham... it was a scummy beat up old d'Elegance wiht more rust than paint, I bought her for $200 and called her "Bertha".
  19. Either it's a stick with a clutch pedal or it's an auto. All the stuff in between is juts half assed junk. I don't need to get charged extra money to shift my automatic manually, I used to shift my 1994 Sunbird 3-speed wiht the corny T-bar shifter. Back when I was a dumb kid that seemed like a good way to pretend it was a stick... these days either give me a true manual or don't but do NOT coddle me like a freekin infant wiht some auto- stick B.S. As long as there is a TRUE, 3-pedal manual trans with an H-pattern shifter and a reverse lockout in every model & trim I will be happy regardless of what else is offered.
  20. The steering wheel is noticalbe to me immediately. It's very tacky to have it 3/4 upside down.
  21. About 10 minutes ago durring the Simpsons I saw for like the 4th time & and commented how neat it was. Very efffective IMHO. Great ad for a great product. Keep up the good job GM.
  22. To add to all of the info Balthazar mentioned there's one more huge benefit for flat or "boxer" engines: lower center of gravity. This is esp. beneficial to cars like the Porsche 911 & WRX. & BTW, as you've probably figured out, the VW/Porsche flat four (pancake motor) is also a "boxer". It's just 6 of one and half dozen of another. The legendary Porsche 917 had a flat (boxer) 12 cylinder motor, depending on the tuning & boost from the turbos they made huge horsepower... as much as 1100-1300. There's been a few other exotic boxer engines. The 80s Ferrari Testarossa was a great example of this.
  23. Yeah, I have pretty poor spelling skills, it's no secret. Bozo the Clown
  24. The scavenger hunt idea is on for the near future. More to come on that soon. It will be open to all C&Gers and esp. Tight Whips members.
