  1. S I X T E E N Build it... quickly and true to concept!!!
  2. At least you can go out and buy another BRAND new one. That 1973? Porsche 911 form the other post and the 1961 Cadillac from my old thread are not exactly in production any more. About a month after the current gen. Hyundai Tiburaon hit showrooms I saw one on the back of a wrecker in pieces... litteraly. The guy had had time to install rims & some cheesy body kit, and in short order ripped off 3 wheels and caved in the roof and every other body panel. I'm not sure if he survived but it did not look promissing.
  3. Can I sue Herb Chambers for garaging his two gray-market McLaren F1s and therefore preventing my potential theft of his prized exotics. I think that makes the exact amount of sense that this lawsuit does. In other words 00.0%.
  4. Mustangs have always been cheaper. Cheaper to buy and cheaper in terms of build quality etc. The 1967 Camaro when it came out made the Mustang look like a Falcon sedan in comparison. The Camaro always was and always will be a better built and higher quality vehicle and thus it will be a few hundred bucks more in the base to a few thousand more in the top of the line models. The only era where the Mustang caught up to and for a moment surpased the Camaro was with the 5.0 (4.9) before GM came out wiht the TPI 5.7 and in the end the Mustang was more receptive to tunning and power add ons. The Camaro is not the lowest common denomionator, it will not be the cheapest Pony car, but you can bet your @$$ it will provide the best value. ---- Slideways: Welcome to the Forum, as you will quickly find out I'm obsessed with the idea of inline-sixes in cars like in the 1960s. This is one of the reasons why I love my Datsun Maxima so much. I agree w/ your Ecotech inline-6 idea for cars 100%.
  5. Agreed, I'd expected to be tweeked a bit here and there unlike the Camaro which will probably be Solstice-close to concept when it reaches showrooms. I just hope to god it stays a hardtop. Please, Mopar!
  6. Damn... yes I was. Leave it up to the Germans to have two models THAT close in name. Cayenne Cayman Still better than alphanumerics.
  7. LOL Ironic, that's the ONLY Porsche I HATE! I don't buy my trucks form Exotic sport car manufacturers, and even if I did the only one I'd consider would be the Lamborghini LM002. That's a truck. The Cayman in my oppinion is a joke. To each his own. (perhaps GMC should get a Kappa ragtop)
  8. What don't you like about Porsches? I love Porsches, esp. Air cooled 911s. They're rear engined, RWD or R-AWD, horizontally opposed & air cooled. I mean how much more quirky can you get? And yet even wiht their very odd balance & handeling they're the most winningest car model in hostory. The new H20 cooled Porsches I don't like, and I think the Boxter is a POS for the money they ask but anything air cooled for a 911 is awsome. IMO.
  9. Now this guy really is beginning to bug me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWomqEroBn8...porsche%20crash I'd love an old 70s Porsche 911 for a winter beater/SCCA car. Why would you destroy a car this cool? What's his fu$%ing problem? As far as the bitching about the layout of the dash I think this guy forgot he's English. Show me one British car from the 1970s that has a logical interior/layout. Nevermind that unlike a Jaguar that can't even start if the barometric presssure shifts 3% from when the car rolled off the assembly line at the factory, or an MG that rusts to death in about 8 months the Porsche 911 was an innovative car with one of the most successful racing careers ever.
  10. pastime
  11. It's pretty much mint for an 1981 Malibu. Befoer we bought the Q45 I almost dragged Marcia up there to buy that 1994 Caprice 9C1 w/ the light bars & all...the only reason why that couldn't happen was that it was over 10 years old and therefore not able to be financed. KF: There was but one classic Monte Carlo there, a 1970 in white but for some reason it's not listed on the website.
  12. Diesel Camaro! Why not? Give me a 6-speed manual and I'd seriously consider one.
  13. It's a rental house. Some Hippie probably painted it that color back in 1966. Acording to my elderly neighbor the house was owned by a biker gang at one point and they grew 6 foot tall pot plants in the back yard. Agreed about Jessica Simpson. The youngest wife from that new BIG LOVE show is pertty cute, though the oldest one is a great MIFL.... the blonde is hit-or-miss.
  14. How about Razoredge? or L.A.? I still miss Lord Stafford, he's been absent for like a year except for the occasional cameo. I guess according to our last email he's loving his Continental MkVIII.
  15. New: Cobalt 5-speed Used: Focus 5-speed
  16. BTW: Here's the internet listing for the 59 Buick. http://goldenrod-garage.com/DETAIL.ASP?DT=...I=500&MI=1&DH=0 Now next up for your viewing pleasure is a 1962 Cadillac Flower car. I have a feelign this was a home-made variety flower car but in any case it was cool to see. Listing: http://goldenrod-garage.com/DETAIL.ASP?DT=...I=582&MI=1&DH=0 This was probably the oldest car that Neil had there that is still restorable & mostly complete. It's a 1924 Ford Express Truck. Very cool to see in person. Listing: http://goldenrod-garage.com/DETAIL.ASP?DT=...I=446&MI=&DH=-5 Balthazar are yopu reading this? Here's an awsome Chevrolet Fire Truck with a Civil Service Seal not unlike the one on the side of your COE Ford. Although this one has a lot less of that super cool patina, but it still has a some very neat details. Another unique truck. When's the last time you saw an International Crew Cab of this vintage? Never mind that it's a Firetruck. Are you into independants? Like wagons? This guy has something for everyone. He's a little too obsessed with 50s Fords IMHO but to each their own. And now for some miscelaneous stuff: Much more to come... browse his inventory and if you see a car that catches your eye ask and I'll post some bigger photos from my personal collection if I took any.
  17. First off here is the main event. A 1959 Buick 4-door hardtop of the flat top variety. This one's an Electra and I did not have a chance to pop the hood and get the stats off the firewall tag but suposedly it's 401 nailhead powered and runs and yard drives. It does however need a master cylinder for the power brakes. Of course I had to get a few photos of me with this Beauty. I love the Patina, love the hardtop bodystyle and I love the way it's sandwiched between a 1940s Pontiac & a 1930s Chevrolet vintage race car.
  18. Many of you might have been wondering about the 1959 Buick in my recent signature. Or perhaps none of you give a damn. Either way if you're still reading this here's the scoop. If you have searched for "1959 Buck" or "1959 Electra" on Google in the past 9 months or so you have no doubt seen a faded blue four door flat top 1959 Buick sittign in front of a long gray building. The car is for sale, asking price is $5900 and as if just so happens it is only about 130 miles away from me at a place called Goldenrod Garage. The home page for Goldenrod promisses "300 plus classic cars at all times in the inventory". A no-nonsense race car driver & antique car nut called Neil runs the place and after a few conversations wiht him I simply HAD to go see the car in the flash, or steel, glass, rubber & rust as it may be. Well, this past Friday I recruited XP to go on a Roadtrip with me up there to see all these cars, in various states of decay. He's been itching to take the 1977 Olds for a good roadtrip so this was the perfect. What follows is a writeup of but a few of the "gems" found at this magnificent Antique Car & Truck dealership. Enjoy. http://goldenrod-garage.com
  19. Hey... I'd take a flathead V16 anyday... but yes of course the OHV ones have quite a timeless and pornographic look to them. THey'd look very much at home on a stand next to the new 2003 SIXTEEN's motor.
  20. Time for a new sig!
  21. Very exclusive, black tie, invitation only. Still looking for a member with one of each of the following: - 1983 Subaru Brat two tone, "Monkey $hit Brown" over "Mustard Puke" - 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham - Any airbag-suspension equiped 1940s Ice Cream truck - 1960s Skoda Fastback - 1948 Tucker Torpedo - Any daily driver Stanley Steamer - Manx Peel P50 And of course if and when I aquire this gorgeous antique Monstrosity it will most certainly be a member of the TIGHT WHIPS car club!
  22. YES!!! I'll buy 20,000 of them and feed them directly into one of those mobile crushers. Smart ass!
  23. Very nice! Congrats. The current GP seems ot be very popular despite that wasp-eye like rear end.
  24. Maybe in 1993 money. Even GM, w/ their $70,000 Corvette Z06 with 505HP can not pull that off. C'mon anything near $24,000 for the base V8 will be justy fine!
