  1. I'm not a fan of Honda... everyone here knows that but I think the Insight had some redeming value. It was honest and true to concept. Except for maybe the EV1 the Insight is one of the best tree-hugger approved personal transports. It had a mission statement and it fufilled it, which is a lot more than I can say for most of the Hondas from the last decade or so... even the Accord & Civic have been sucking more than average as of late. I'd much rather see a ton of Insights on the road versus the Element, Pilot, MDX & Ridgeline.
  2. Agreed Ven, but more importantly Cadillac has to produce a ture to life SIXTEEN, that is the one sure way to show the world Gm is going to clean house and make Cadillac the TRUE standard of the world again. The SIXTEEN if it reaches production will make Bentleys & R.R.s look like Ford Crown Vics by comparison. At that point Caddy will be competing more with Maybach & even Bugatti than Lexus & Benz... at least in perception.
  3. Trina-Bob: What kind of a car nut are you??? GM1: Thank You for the kind invite, I will not be able to make it down however. Like I've already mentioned in my PMs the $$$ situation is not very condusive to a roadtrip of that magnitude. Maybe next year.
  4. Agreed, silver screams "average, middle of the road".
  5. Yes that 1st gen. GSX was cool... I'd take it over the 2nd. They seem to be more durrable too. It's a great car and can turn in amazing 1/4 times with modification but it's expensive and still fragile like a Fabrige Egg. They're always breaking stuff. I knew a guy who had one running high 11s in the 1/4 mile. He was always bragging about it calling my Camaro slow... but everytie he got cocky I'd ask... if your damn Eclipse was soo cool why did you sell it with a blown-up transmission, actaully it's 4th blown up trans. My Camaro has never broken anything at the track. The reason I still wrote "FWD" is because it's Front-wheel biased AWD which sux for many reasons, one of them being their inherantly weak transmissions. There's a cool video of John Shepard's Eagle TSi. in this thread: Best run to date: 8.7 @ 166 in the 1/4 mile. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...pic=6347&st=120
  6. Wow... I'm stunned, in a good way. Liie I always say about Honda & Toyota: the higher the horse the harder the fall.
  7. crack cocaine
  8. Miata --- why the hell not... you're single Focus --- bread & butter Prelude --- I like how the VIN is pop-rivited ot the rubberized dash Cougar --- They stopped making REAL Cougars in 1997 Del Sol --- GOD NO!? 3000GT --- biggest complaint is that it's a MitshiBitchy... & FWD 3000GT --- see above Eclipse --- see above Eclipse --- see above 240SX --- YES!!! THIS IS THE ONE. BUY IT. MIles are low, price is right. Grand Am --- variety is the spice of life... but this aint a bad car SC2 --- not much to look at & it's FWD 325i --- nice 325is --- 176K on a BMW...? no thanks
  9. BV: Like you aren't sick of the same repetetive B.S.? Mullets, Sodomy & Stereotyping. Real original, esp. the 39627th time around. And of course everytime Camaros are mentioned it's an invitation to make fun of rednecks, every time the Fiero is mentioned it's all abut the engine fires....
  10. Agreed. The "crushed in a car" theory is very plausable. That's one way to get rid of evidence REAL quick like. Esp. in the pre-DNA testing mid-1970s.
  11. TIMELINE OF THE HOFFA CASE July 30, 1975: Hoffa leaves his Lake Orion home about 1 p.m. He stops in Pontiac and arrives at the Machus Red Fox restaurant in Bloomfield Township around 2 p.m. to meet with Detroit mob captain Anthony (Tony Jack) Giacalone and New Jersey mobster Anthony (Tony Pro) Provenzano. Hoffa goes there to settle a feud with Provenzano. Hoffa calls his wife from a nearby pay phone around 2:15 p.m. to say he's been stood up - and then vanishes. July 31: Hoffa's green Pontiac Grand Ville is found in the restaurant parking lot, but it yields no clues. Aug. 2: The FBI takes charge of the investigation. Aug. 21: Police dogs find Hoffa's scent in the burgundy Mercury Marquis Brougham that protege Charles (Chuckie) O'Brien borrowed from friend Joey Giacalone, son of Anthony Giacalone, the day Hoffa vanished. But O'Brien denies any involvement in Hoffa's disappearance. Speaking of Grand Villes... (as in the other thread)

    Quiz

My dog is dead too.... what a horrible prank. Wait, how does he know I will not own a 1959 Buick by October???
  13. First Porsche I ever drove was a 1983 turbo 924, (predecesor to the 944) it was a fun ride... but I did not get to explore the upper limits of 5th gear, the owner was in the passanger seat. A nice 924/944 can be had for 4-digits these days, a mint one for teens. ------ Moltar, once again we're on the same page.
  14. I'll dig around and see what I can find.
  15. Classic Ocnblu.
  16. *bitting tongue forcefully*
  17. GM is not stupid, they'll do the right thing. The LS-series engines are all aluminum from the block ot the heads, they will probably use aluminum as much as they can & perhaps some space age stuff but a Camaro that will sell in the low-to-high $20K will not have some monocoque carbon fibre & balsawood Chassis like a Lotus Elise or a McLaren F1.
  18. These positive reviews are a marked differance from the usual negative bull$#it we get to read 70% of the time. If even the hardcore cynics agree (build it) then how can it be anything other than done deal???
  19. Toyota makes exagerated and sometimes outrageous claims regarding horsepower & MPG. This is not news a this point. It is also pretty much public knowledge at this point that GM tends to underpromisse and overdeliver on both MPG & HP.
  20. As far as why so many people leave this site.... Question answered. Nobody likes an elitist a$$hole. You come off as a major prick 90% of the time. Thanks for keeping politics off the boards. How Satty has not been banned yet is beyond me.
  21. Yes, the G6 retractable hardtop would be an obvious choice to get them positive press and showcase the marvelous mechanism to a wide audience. Too bad they wasted it on a FWD V6, auto only car. A retractable HT GTO would be deeee-licious.
