  1. You're looking at a prototype of a 70% covered up and desguised up car that may bear strong resemblance to the car that we will get. Don't pass judgement based on this. That's way too premature.
  2. MINI-Disks. They rock! I wish they had gotten as popular here as in the EU. My dad has a ton of Minidisk players and bought into the technology back in the late 90s. Too bad that the technology was not accepted in the USA.
  3. So cool to see spotlights, steelies & chrome center caps on a car as muscular & modern as the new Charger with a lightbar.
  4. Even more disturbing is that it seems people in my neck of the woods have collectively decided that beige Toyota Priuses are acceptable transportation. Worse still it seems that Honda Elements are actually selling.
  5. Alrighty then, now let's get back to the fun stuff! & Gears
  6. Yeah, I'm pretty sure a 1981 GM anything will destroy furniture made of particle board without any rea damage. Here's that photo of the Horse on Rt. 3 BTW.
  7. Wow, one of the best posts as of late. Good Stuff. That diesel 1983 Datsun Maxima makes my gas powered 1984 Maxima look almost conventional. I wish I could have bought it off of them after they were done with it. "Wearing 235,704 miles, our Datsun Maxima diesel looks like an old Hotpoint stove rising out of an Iraqi oil fire. A bilious black fog trails behind it, and its tailpipe farts a sooty skid mark on the pavement wherever it is idling. The Maxima’s encrustation of white paint barely conceals the gouge marks of hastily sanded Bondo." It has 70K more miles than my Datsun, impressive but I'm sure there's other ones out there wiht a half million. Thanks again for the post... makes me want to subscribe to C&D again.
  8. The first thing that comes to mind: On my now famous roadtrip down to Penn/N.J. last Nov. I was driving along in the middle of the Jersey Turnpike and saw a shrinkwrapped helocopter... but not some little trafffic chopper or lifeline chopper, I mean like a HUGE Chopper, the size of the HIND. Looked like one of those big Coast Guard ones... it was wrapped up like a Jr. Bacon Cheesburger from Wendys but in blue plastic. Weird for sure. It didn't even look like it would clear an overpass.
  9. There's such a thing as automotive karma IMO. If you had not been doing 90mph earier you might have not gottenpulled over l;ater.
  10. I can always install firm shocks on a Charger and it will probably cost me about 03% of the cost of converting a Impala, Lucerne or DTS to longitudinaly-mounted engine & RWD with IRS. Your complaint of the suspension being too soft makes me want an R/T even more. It's the motion of the ocean!
  11. Damn French! So FWD is all a part of their evil plan. BTW Variance: I agree 100% about the 1st gen. M45. When it came out it looked quite disconcerting and odd, esp. the nose but I've grown to love it and wojuld love one for a daily driver. FLY: I didn't realize they had Navigation Systems on 1985 Alfa Romeos?!
  12. Geezus, everyone just chill. Besides, Charger was just f#cking around, relax. Thsi is no place to be super-duper-P.C. It was a joke, move on.
  13. Sean Paul
  14. Are you kidding YD? Deep Purple was playing metal before most of those bands were out of Kindergarden. The best song from G&R is still "Sweet Child of Mine", they hasd so much potential untill Axle Rose got to be a little b!tch and started writing the best rock album of all time... like 15 years ago. At this point I think his daily schedule involves porn and doritos more than music. It's all good, Velvet Revolver seems like they have some good potential. Nice to see Master of Puppets on there... still te best song ever by Metallica and possibly the best song form that era IMHO. Beautiful People by M.M. is a great song but it's weird seeing it on this list.
  15. You Sir, have never owned or worked on a 1980s Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham! The joke with my buddies is that the car has vacuum operated power windows, seats, anteana, trunk release & high beams.
  16. Great news. This is only about two decades overdue!
  17. If this is true then you can be sure Oldmobile & LaSalle will have a new buddy or two up in Automotive Heaven!
  18. Now THAT would be a Grand Prix!!!
  19. Awsome! Congrats buddy, it's a natrual choice for you. Funny thing is this morning we went to an Oldsmobile sshow at an ex-Olds dealership in the hometown of Billy Squire. There was dozens of gorgeous cars there from 1936 all the way to a 2dr Alero like yours... but this one was ONE of a kind. Actually it was by far the coolest Alero in the world IMO. I'll post photos tomorrow, you have to see this to beleive it!
  20. Now that's a tight whip!!!
  21. Don;t be a wet balnket nos!
  22. me want... bad
  23. Cool. I've seen it before but forgot the details.
