  1. Sure, all the time. But unlike most of your cars mine actually talks back! Granted it's in a neutral feminine voice that echos back in 1984 fashion but it's still a voice and it tells me pertenant 4-1-1. At least twice per every trip I hear "Key is in the ignition" And recently money's been short so I heard "Fuel level is low" a lot as well as "parking brake is on" the other day when I didn't lower it all the way as I drove away. I drove the Maxima yesterday and hit a bad pothole so I told her "sorry" but I sometimes give her a pep talk or even thank her for her excellent service. 23K miles for like $500 is pretty damn good. As far as the Camaro I'm usually telling her to calm down if her idle is too lumpy or to slow down if the brakes are having a bad day. The only thing I have told the Q45 recently is "Damn You're a sexy bitch!"
  2. I voted "150,000 - 200,000 miles" since my last remaining car from GM is the Camaro and it has 195,XXX or so at this point. The Datsun Maxima has 155K and the Datsun Q45 has 107K. (the demilition derby volvo has 240K)
  3. Mustang Bronco, Pinto
  4. I thought this thread was about the Cobalt SS/SC.
  5. Dodgefan: The Chevy Rep Girl said it best at NYIAS. The Challenger is flat, it's like throwing a brick down the highway, versus the Camaro which is sculpted, aerodynamic and flows air throughout & around the car in a 21 century maner. The Challenger is very cool, don;t get me wrong, but when GM said the Camaro borrows styling from the YF22 they were not just saying that like most B.S. marketing/P.R.
  6. Thanks for the support guys, great minds think alike.
  7. Timeslips. http://i3.tinypic.com/wly9h0.jpg John Force would be jelaous.
  8. Nope. I wish I had a chance to see the Sixteen from up close.
  9. They are not to be taken seriously. I enjoyed both movies thus far. I'm not a ufcking retard who says "ten second car" every 45 sec. though. The Charger in the 1st movie was pretty cool and the SYC & Challenger stole the show in the second movie. Even Paul Walker pretty much says that the 35 year old Camaro can blow the doors off of almost any Tuner ever made. That being said I don;t think the tuner trend will ever slow down very much, but now that we'll have three Pony cars & a GTO in showrooms again we'll give those POS ricers a run for their money. Once some of the kids realize that they can have a superior RWD product with DOD and a dead-reliable pushrod V8 design some of them might smarten up. Esp. when the GTO & Camaro kick their ass at Drifting Competitions.
  10. You bring up a good point Fly, even at $27K the G should have struts, no excuse. But as far as my purchase decision would go... that is a very small inconvenience and would not factor into what I would choose. You can always instal struts for $100 or so, but it would cost about $5000 - $7000 to "convert" the Grand Prix, Cobalt or what ever to RWD. I think the G35 coupe is a hell of a car.
  11. Camino: I hear you on the FWD. I'd love to buy a SS/SC with the LSD but if I can not get it without breaking the bank I should just get a nice used RWD. Actaully I'm currently on a new kick. Back when Subaru was still owned by GM I told myself I'd get a beater WRX someday. I looked it up and a 70-80K mile 2002 Impreza WRX in great shape runs about $13,000. I am still disapointed at GM selling this brand to Toyota, but hell... if I got a 2002 used I'm not giving any money to Toyota and technically when the car was bought new it was GM. Anyway, screw justifying it. It's got a pancake motor, turbo, 5-speed, rear biased AWD & still has four doors. Why not?
  12. Great idea... not liking the badge-job products though.
  13. Buy a Solstice GXP and get a trailer to carry your stuff & the puppy. actually... forget it, buy THIS! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Vintag...1QQcmdZViewItem
  14. I'll take it!!! It'll be horrible on gas. Probably like 1.5 -to- 1.7 MPG. You don't want a car like that. PM me your address, I;ll be there in the morning.
  15. Okay, I'm going to be a wet blanket here. Unless it's a very unique motor like a flat four turbo (Subaru WRX) I think a four cylinder engine still carries a certain stigmata. For me it's huge, but for most people this side of the pond it's still there. Maybe not enough to prevent a few Acura TSXs & RSX from selling but t sure as hell does not help. But forget all that. The reason why a premium car with a four banger is pretty lame in 2006 is that DOD has made even a medium size V8 get good fuel economy. And when you DO want to romp on it, then you'll be burning tons of fuel in a four banger anyway. It takes fuel to make HP regardless of how many cylinders the car has. F#$% four bangers. I think we need a 21st century buick 215. A super-small V8, pushrod with DOD. Now that's a win-win scenario. power, economy & smoooooothness.
  16. I absolutely LOVE the current 5-series, other than that BMW is looking kind of bleak these days. Also... when the hell are we FINALLY going to see the production 1 &/or 2 series? It's been like 7 years and still nothing. How long does it take to make a 318tii replacement?
  17. Forget all that... it has the styling of a Chinese made walk in Freezer. I think the Element fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Christ there's not ONE thing I like about it style wise. The ONLY positive thing I can say for it is the suicide doors, other than that it's a complete waste of plastic. I think the Aztek, Scion xB & FJ-Cruiser are all ugly in their own way, but the Element, it's opperating on a WHOLE new level. If ugliness was a sport that freekin Car would knock out and trample some ugly Chinese car to win the Mr. Ugly Universe Title.
  18. Exactly.... I second that, with a few more exclamation points. I think Rick Wagnoner should join GMI however.
  19. Here's my semi-humble opinion: Camaro Concept: YES! Challenger Concept: eh... not so much. FJ-Cruiser: God no!
  20. Cool! Best of luck.
  21. Carbiz: But see, that's what breeds money-driven assholes in the business. Most salesman would rather exhaust their efforts trying to screw some old lady on a used Park Ave then actually know that it has a transverse mounted 3800 under the hood with a belt driven supercharger. I've met salesman who knew less about cars than my G/F. It makes me sick to hear some dumb kid with a A&F shirt and no-wrinkle Khakis tell customers blatantly erroneous info. about the basics. I can honestly say that more than half the car salesman I have known/run into do not know the basics. DOHC versus Pushrod, whishbone versus MacPherson Strut, transverse mounted motor as opposed to one that's longitudinally mounted, they are usless as a $#it sandwich. The ones who are assholes to boot? Well, they make my blood boil.
  22. Rolls Royce peeked about six decades ago... these days I think you have to be stupid and filthy rich to buy what is basically an overpriced & over rated BMW. I think the only post-WWII Rolls that is worth more than it's weight in scrap metal is the one John Lennon had that's all painted up like a Persian Rug.
  23. These two should be hosting tupperware parties & discussing the vitues of solar panels, not reviewing cars or giving society their opinion on the automotive world.
  24. That ugly butt has to go. The other problem is the FWD.
  25. Funny you say that... I said it was like a 21st century 57 Bel Air with the 69 Camaro style speed lines on the feners.
