  1. Where does the expression "the whole 9 yards" come from? It's one of my favorite sayings because of the history behind it.
  2. funny assed cracka'
  3. Newbiewar: Dude, with all due respect GM does not build 25 vehicle runs with specific tooling... what about crash tests? And WHY would they tease everyone like that? Just to rub it in people's faces? We built a RWD Impala but YOU can't have one... :blows raspberrys: Heck this is the reason why many concept cars are crushed instead of preserved like they should be, GM or whoever is worried about some retarded lawsuit. Ask Camino about his dad's red Firehawk. I really think someone was playing a practical joke on you or something, I'm not trying to be rude just honest. This kind of reminds me of that story you hear every so often at a carshow about how some old timer did a huge burnout in a 67 Rzr.Bck. or a 72 Toronado or better still a 83 Riviera... "there was rubber chunks all over the rear quarters."
  4. Agreed abotu the SR71!!! The coolest palne of WWII is the Supermarine Spitfire.
  5. Agreed! As far as Croc... well, there's a lot of selective b!tching going on around here.
  6. I've even gotten yelled at for bringing home free cars that were to be used for the demolition derby. Marcia's pretty cool actually, she's been all "let's restore the Camaro oinstead of buying a 59 Buick... but I'm all et with that" I'd rather have a 2009 Camaro & a classic Delta winged shark nosed beast from the late 50s. No matter how nice the Camaro is it will be another 1st gen. Camaro... there's tons of them and they're all going to be restored, but if I have a 59 Buick even in rough cosmetic shape it will be a bitchin car, very unique and it will turn heads, I have yet to see one EVER on a road in motion. I actuallly called up XP and told him to. come w/ me ot check out the Cutlass for $h!s & giggles since it was a very odd car. The guy lived like 1/2 mile away from me right by the Tyngsboro bridge and it was killing me WTF was up with the IDAHO plates on it.
  7. Well... we all know the topic of my next nightmare. Camaros & FWD should be exclusive like Partical Board Furniture & the Ritz, or Veal & Vegetarians.
  8. AM Radio by Everclear (?) Since I was just on Future of GM's myspace site and he has that then & now GM commercial playing.

I posted some new photos on myspace.... for the first time in like 3 months. http://home.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...18C153667662781 Thanks buddy... it's my Daughter Sofia's eye... enlarged of course (zoomed in) and the color contrast bumper up a bit, I made it one day out of the blue. Get it?, it's a double entandre.
  10. I think you misread some urban ledgend... if they had retooled ther car or RWD, which would be impractical and very costly, they they would have made a LOT more than 25. About 20,000 orders for the RWD one would pour in in about 1:00 hour.
  11. Best of luck with that.... Women are crazy, I live with two of them. Seriously, Congrats.
  12. There's no shame in SBC power!
  13. Yup... the 1st OHV series.
  14. This past weekend, on the 7th of May 2006 I joined XP715 and SpeedingPenguin in Welsley Mass at the site of an old Olds dealer for a fantastic car show. XP715 Brought his beater, the one he stores at my house. It's the 1977 Cutlass Supreme we're always talking about. They were very polite to us despite the car looking like a well worn daily driver and not some trailer queen. The local Oldsmobile Club even took photos of it for posterity. About 70% of the show consisted of late 60s to early 70s Cutlasses/442s. I was dissapointed to see only a few 50s cars and just two Pre-WWII cars. Here's neat highlights. T!G|-|T WH1P$ Best of show award goes to: Look closely... this is THE coolest street legal Alero in the world if you ask me. ----------------- Best Patina on an unrestored car: These are for GM1: XP's Cutty: And another fellow friend's car: Some random shots... more to come this P.M.
  15. I'm with Ocnblu... the anticipation is killing me!!! RWD V8 Full Size Proportons Throwback styling

Driving in the Q45 a few weeks ago.
  21. Wow.... very very cool. First I'm hearing of this: Conversion by Meteor of Piqua, OH, on a re-bodied 1937 vee-sixteen chassis for the Detroit Fire Department, this huge ambulance was donated to the department by its Fire Chief, Paxton Mendelssohn, who had worked for many years for the Fisher Brothers. In 1951 it was put on a V-8 chassis and remained in service into the seventies http://www.car-nection.com/yann/Dbas_txt/V6prod34.htm
  22. I'm a big fan of the 2000 -to- 2005 Impala. Pretty much the only flaw they have is that they have transverse mounted motors and are FWD. As far as sefety, quality & power economy and smoothness of the Impala it is all fantastic. Once they changed the burgundy tail light surround to black in '03 I pretty much thought the car looked almost PERFECT, even looks like it has a RWD stance. Is it just my obsession for RWD, am I just seeing things? THis car has always looked like it has a RWD stance to me. Am I crazy? Look at that healthy rear overhang...
  23. Lufthansa is the one of the best airlines in the world... definately in the top three I think most people who have flown them can agree abut that. Even the Lindt Chocolate is AMAAAAZING!
  24. I kind of forgot to post that anything old thats savable does NOT stick around.... which is what makes the place cool. They do make sure to part out and restore as much as humaly possible. The same day I took these photos they had a 1957 Ford there that is about 60% restored. The time before that they were making one decent restoration out of a 1952 Mercury and a 1952 Ford or something to that effect. One was a hit hardtop wiht a bad frame the other a rusted sedan wiht a good frame & glass. Speaking of Fords my favorite Ford of all time is a 1960 Skyliner. I think most most late 50s early 60s Fords are just pale imitations of GM cars from two or three years earlier. Still I absolutely LOVE the 1960 Ford non-T-birds!
  25. I came close to crying when I saw that 1960 Phoenix... as well as the TWO 59 Buicks. So how about a parts car for XPs 1977 Cutlass Supreme? It's a Chevy, yes but look at that greenhouse.
