2008 BMW M5 Touring

BMW’s hottest property at the Geneva motor show in March will likely be an M5 Touring (wagon) version of its screaming M5 sedan. The high-performance load hauler is set to compete against the likes of the Audi S6 Avant and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG wagon, with power coming from the same highly strung 5.0-liter V10 engine used in the two-year-old M5 sedan.

As with the M5 sedan, the new car comes with BMW’s seven-speed M-sequential gearbox standard, along with an array of electronic driving aids, including an electronic controlled M-differential and a unique software program that allows the driver to choose between a detuned state for the engine, in which it develops 400 hp, or a peak setting that liberates its full 500 hp.

I think ultra-fast wagons are awesome, so I really like this car even though the styling is questionable and it's extremely complicated to do anything.

If it weren't so ugly, it'd be cool.

An awesome car hindered by stupid electronics and an ugly exterior/interior.

Angry looking little station wagons just don't do it for me, amazing performance or not. I have always hated the shape of the headlamps and basically the whole style of the car since day one. I still miss the handsome looking previous generation 5 series.

The M5 is an incredible car and everything but.... Magnum SRT8 for me.

Meh. It looks like an average, kid moving wagon.

If I want a wagon that puts out gobs of power, I want it too look like it, nice and aggressive, which is how the Magnum looks to me.
