Yeah, my parents' company owns a fleet of 4 Express vans. You turn the dial to the lighting level you desire, then push the button in when it's not in use. What's wrong with that?

Is it the little knob you twist to control the brightness of the dash lights, which when twisted past the clockwise detent turns on the interior lights? What's wrong with that?

Yes, lots of vehicles have light knobs that work that way.. IIRC, I've had Fords that worked that way.

NOTHING, as long as you have tiny little fingers with nails. The knob is so small it's absolutely ridiculous!

It's a tiny knob that sticks out of the dash 1/4" and it's maybe 3/8" diameter. And it's SMOOTH too.

Hahaha

It's like they designed it to be aggravating!

That's why it pops out when you push it, so you can adjust it. Then you can push it back in so it's out of the way. It's a great design, you just have to know how to use it!

LOL

I pushed it in and out. And in and out. Problems is it doesn't GO "IN AND OUT".

LOL

I showed my Chevy tech buddy, he works at a dealership in trucks, he couldn't believe it either, but he does now.

Either we have different switches or mine don't work.

:scratchchin:

I'll take a pic, we'll see if it's what you are thinking, it does NOT go "in and out".

It's ridiculous.

Damn...

Poke it with a pen maybe?

LOL

We just tried for ten minutes, it doesn't go in and out, my neighbour thought maybe the button next to it was for the interior lights, but all it does is turn the light off with the door open.

I'm wondering if I have a broken switch, cause it's WAY too small to be reasonable for adjusting. Something is wrong for sure. I feel like blasting it with WD40 and trying later, but when my transmission gets in I will tell them about my switch. It's NUTZ!!!!

Oh, just cry me the Nile River, Boy-Ota.

Cry? LOL

Sorry! I'll just kick the crap outta my dash when I need my brand new van interior lights on.

LOL

OK, I'll just open the door.

"Boy-ota"?

I would drive a Toyota about the same time as I would drive a Sonoma.

NEVER!!!!

Well, sadly DetroitNut90 was correct, sort of.

My switch is SUPPOSED to be able to be pulled out. I think. 3 of our 4 vans would NOT pull out, and we got one of the three stuck ones out with vise grips. YES, we broke one trying too. (NOT mine. LOL)

So..... I'm gonna ask when my van goes in for a tranny if they can replace the switch. I will ASSUME all the switches are supposed to be the same, we have one that works, it goes in and out like he says, we have one that WILL go in and out with great difficulty, we have a shattered one haha- but mine won't budge.

ARGH!!!!!

The pop out feature better not be an OPTION.

:AH-HA_wink:

LOL

Or I just tried vise gripping a little knob for 10 minutes for nuttin!
