You only have to read todays Daily Express to know that.

Brown will give up Britain's frredom as a nation when he signs up to the Lisbon treaty. Britain will no longer be a country, it will just become a State in the United States of Europe we will abide by their rule and regulations.

Will Brits get a referendum on it? NO

We know longer get our household waste collected weekly, its every 2 weeks. You now get parking type tickets with fines up to $500 if you leave you dustbin lid a little bit open, if dustmen have to use more than two fingers to pull the wheely dustbin, put wrong things in the bin like cardboard as it could have been recycled, or even put your bin out a day to early.

The European Union is planning new rules that would see all car ads clearly displaying the vehicle’s environmental credentials.

In the same way that some food packets now have coloured labels to show what the ingredients are, car advertisements would be obliged to display warnings to show the respective vehicle’s CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.

A draft proposal for the new legislation needs to go before the College of Commissioners in the autumn before it can be passed through parliament and decreed EU law.

Lots of mess going on in the EU...

... between France being France...

... Italy in financial trouble...

... and Spanish truckers blocking the France/Spain border...

... wow.

I think the 'nutrition' type labels are a good idea...

On food, yes.

On every manufacturer's website, and readily available in every dealer, probably.

On every advertisement, no. They don't even require that with food (well, not here at least, do they over there?)

I wouldn't call that lunacy... it's just that we Americans in general are not accustomed to sleazy British tabloids and their sensationalist stories. With time you might find them entertaining instead of outrageous. I do understand your disgust at such ridiculous reporting, though. Hopefully newspapers here never become as tabloidy and libelous.
