Test your American civics knowledge

This is an interesting quiz that covers a broad scope of American civics history. The link below shows that as a whole, our elected officals score lower than ordinary citizens in this test. I think that speaks volumes for where this country is at today.

The quiz can be taken at the link below. I had 27/33, which is 82%. The average score for ordinary citizens is 49%. Elected officials average around 44%.

You answered 30 out of 33 correctly — 90.91 %

I missed 7, 14 and ironically enough 33...though the correct answers were always the other one I had been debating.

I'm not sure if I like the wording to the answer choices on 33, though...IMO the "correct" answer should have the word "average" inserted into it because I can easily think of counterexamples to the "correct" answer.

21) Name two countries that were our enemies during World War II.

Any lawmaker that gets this one wrong should be tossed out of office immediately.

Absolutely!

Some of the questions were more economic than civic but it was interesting.

I'm not surprised that so many elected officials did so poorly. All you had to do was watch the congressional hearings with the Detroit automakers or listen to the Sunday morning news shows for the past couple of weeks. The lack of knowledge exhibited by these morons should scare the crap out of you that they are making the decisions about the economy and the fate of the American industrial base.
