Album Cover Trivia

Let's see how many people get this right.

This is the cover for an album from a rather obscure band. This band, who only released two albums throughout their entire career and disbanded shortly after their second album was released, actually managed to make a significant impact on the math-rock and post-rock scene, with artists like Isis and Dinosaur Jr. citing the band as an influence.

First, what car did the band use for the album cover?

Second, what band was it?

Third, what was the title of the album?

Fourth, where did the band originate from? :AH-HA_wink:

Answers are on the cover itself, but I trust you not to cheat. :P

I found it, but only because I figured out the car and had to cheat (Google) from there... Never heard of them before. I won't post the answer here and ruin it.

Okay, the band is Slint and they used a Saab 900 for the cover of their album "Tweez."

I saw an interesting album cover from Neko Case, has her '67 Cougar on the cover. (I read in a Rolling Stone article that it is her car). Have no idea what she sounds like, though.

The first car I owned (year, make, model) is coincidentally shown on the cover of the first album I owned (both obtained used- if that makes any difference). I've mentioned the car a few times... but how many album covers feature cars to begin with?

Any guesses ?

She is listed as 'alternative country'. I only know her because she was in the New Pornographers, who I certainly wouldn't call country. So I have no idea what she sounds like on her own.

I just looked at a '71 Merc Cyclone this weekend... but she's on a Cougar.

Missed it it by that much.

No to both guesses. <_<

In that mine wasn't really a trivia question.... here's the answer :

1964 GP.

Balthazar: Very cool.

I didn;t remember that your '64 G.P. was your first car!

I'm assuming you mean the very same one that is

hibernating under a cover in bay No.3 of your garage?
