$1 billion?

Featured Replies

How come there is not more news on GM investing $1 billion in their next-gen fullsize trucks? What can we expect from these new trucks, there is a new diesel coming we know that, but from the spy pics I've seen of upcoming models there is not much to be excited about. Unless these are stopgap models until newly freshened sheetmetal comes out?

I'd imagine the bulk of the money will go to new powertrain tech. They're going to need to raise the fuel economy standards on the full-sizers, since they still represent a large chunk of GM's volume.

The program was just approved, there is nothing to take spy shots of yet.

Not unless you can get a camera into the design studio. Usually the styling is done except for detail refinements when a program is approved.

I also expect a lot of weight reduction in the half ton trucks.

Now that it looks like Ford will offer the Ecoboost V6 in the F 150 it will be interesting to see how gm responds.

It'll also be interesting to see how they handle tech...the Ford Work Solutions computer has been a pretty big hit with contractors.

Have you ever thought of getting a mkIV Supra? seems like it would be right up your alley.
