Chevrolet confirmed today that both the Traverse and Impala would be making their debuts in two weeks at the 2012 New York International Auto Show by releasing a couple of teaser shots.

The Traverse's brother, the 2012 GMC Acadia and Acadia Denali tipped their hat in February at the Chicago autoshow. In the Traverse tease shot, we see a CGI rendering of the passenger side dash and door. The Traverse will be gaining an industry first center airbag to protect the driver or passenger from far side impacts.

On the 2014 Chevrolet Impala, we only a glimpse of the C-pillar and the old familiar Impala logo. The new Impala will ride on the long wheel base version of GM's Epsilon II platform that underpins the coming 2013 Cadillac XTS. We also know that the Impala will no longer be galloping around the track at Nascar races starting in 2013, due to be replaced with a yet named model.

Both pictures are as useful as a screen door is on a submarine!

Though I am excited to see the new Impala when I travel to NYC in about two weeks. I'm curious as to whether or not I will like the new Traverse; I'm not a fan of the current one.
